You’re very calm and collected with this stuff mate. I would have been soooo stressed 😂. The outcome is a great one, looks lovely. Genuinely surprised at the price - was expecting about double.
Lol, I've messed with a few things over the years but this was a bit more daunting, certainly a bit fiddly but think I could do another one easy now having done one Have to say I'm well impressed for the money, been playing on it yesterday and today and it's great Cheers Ed, hope you had a good weekend 👍
Looks brilliant there James mate the screen picture quality looked excellent and loved the funky music as you were putting it back together 🤣 great stuff 🙂👍
Ive got to say that's quite impressive. Be good to see a follow up after a few weeks just to update if its atill working well etc. I am fan of the original Gameboy, all for nostalgia reasons. Never had a GB Colour but might get involved 🤙
I am impressed with it so far, it seems excellent and would be confident of doing another one much quicker Hopefully it will last and keep working Do like having the option of playing both original Gameboy and colour carts, I will come back to it in a future video with any issues. Thanks for watching 👍
Great achievement, and they only get easier the more you do. There are loads of options with the IPS screens these days. Lots of oversized ones too which look cool.
Thanks Craig, it was a bit fiddly but now I've done one, another would be much easier. Certainly like the sound of a bigger screen, my eyesight isn't getting any better 🤣👍
That's become a bit of a Triggers Broom of a Gameboy but I've gotta say the result looks fantastic. As I have a few Gameboy carts knocking around now I might be tempted to get a trashy Gameboy Colour and do something like this at some point. Nice work James and this vid will be referred to if ever I decide to take the plunge👍
Triggers broom....that's brilliant mate, love that analogy 🤣🤣 Seems a fantastic screen so far and cheap too I'd say Definitely recommend one so far mate , time will tell, hopefully it won't pack up🤣👍
I didn't get onboard with the gameboy either, had a gba and thought it was ok but for me the only handheld I could honestly admit to being a big fan of was the psp. Great bit of modding you've done , really made a difference , sadly you'd need to mod it by putting a 32" screen in it for me to be able to use it 😂
Think we must have been to cool for Gameboys🤣 I never got on board with the psp either really, I'm just not much of a handheld guy You're not wrong, what I should have done is weld a controller onto the side of a proper TV.....far better 🤣👍
That did look fiddly mate, you have some patience for sure! Looks great really nice though - do you think the battery life will be boosted too? What ended up happing with that tab on the left in the end?
It was a bit but not too bad overall, real pleased with the outcome and used it a fair bit the past few days and working great Hadn't thought about battery life actually, they've not gone yet anyway, will be interesting to see Still not sure that tab at the top is correct where I have it, think the board needs to be the other way around to allow it to sit on the infa red window as supposed to be able to adjust brightness with it, it's fine as it is though to be fair👍
That didn't look easy, You're a smarter man than I am Cause you managed to figure it out with a little bit of Fiddling About, That's screen in case look fantastic, I can even see what's going on the screen and I'm blind 😂
It was a bit fiddly to be honest but if I had to do another it would be fairly easy now Got to say I'm impressed with the screen, looks a great picture and night & day compared to the other one, can't say more than your recommendation mate🤣👍
Looking more beautiful than Susan Boyle in a thong 😉Green bezel looks nice imo 👌 That was a great price, screen looks well, give us update sometime on it its held up 👊🏻

Turned out great in the end 🙂🙂
Thanks mate, really pleased with it so far, amazing for the money 👍
That looks great James buddy 😄 really sharp and crisp. I would of had a melt down trying to do it though as I'm rubbish and stuff like that 😂
Yeah, it's really great Steve, massive improvement, can't believe it for the money. Certainly fiddly but think it would be much easier the next time👍
Well done there James, looks great buddy 👍
Thanks Paul, turned out really good so far at least 🤣👍

Looked like a bit of a mare in all honesty, but definitely worth it in the end.
Worth every penny 👌
Was fiddly but not bad when you realise how it fits, definitely a great upgrade though, used it a lot and it's great. Bargain I'd say 👍
More patience than I've got matey but yep good job and looks a nice upgrade for you 😎👍
Wasn't too bad but definitely a fiddly job, pleased with the results though, the screen is so much better 👍
Great info man thanks.
Thanks a lot 👍
Wow! Fair play for having the stomach to do this! Are you after Retro Claire’s job 😉
No Claire is very safe in her work, I don't have any proper skills🤣👍
Excellent stuff very useful ☘️☘️
Turned out alright really. Thanks 👍

Gotta be better with a backlight them old handhelds, even PCE GT had a backlight 😎👍
Definitely Daz, they were always hopeless weren't they 🤣
First impressions are fantastic screen mate 👍
