Itchy, they pulled you out of retirement and back into forestry again!! That tree was a beast but you took the weight off and it cleaned up nicely! You still got it!!!

I live around a whole bunch of crazy lumberjacks here. It's good that you still get out and do things. I wish my wife was in better health. I pretty much got my work cut out for.me taking care of things at home. Thanks for sharing your day.

My cousin Claude Quellet bought a lumberjack harness and crawled up a tree that needed removal. It was his first tree, using a harness and he did it that way. The thing is he did not need to do it. It was his landlord's problem and saved him 1500 for removal. He climbed up the tree with a rope on the end of a small chainsaw and delimbed it before he fell the tree a couple times with a rope tied to farther he could reach with a rope. He did the job because he wanted the dry firewood . He has three fused vertebrates and collapsed damaged biceps. His wife was the only one who helped him while his neighbours where watching them in the trailer court they live in.
yeah itchy,I know just how you feel I'm now 68 and just about any physical exertion now a days and for quite awhile now I'm so out of breath,I ache all over.i had a rough life in my younger years and >to now compounded with some age related health issues,it's a good thing I have itchy mochey to tag along with.thanks itchy.
A while back I was walking into a place of business and passed 2 elderly couples coming out and I said how y'all doing and one of the men said gettin' old to wit I replied don't do it cause it ain't what it's cracked up to be. I will be 78 this year and if I could slow it down or better yet stop it I would. Things I could do a few years ago in stride now either wear me out or I just won't try it. You guys did a great job with the tree. If a man doesn't spend time with his family he's not a real man.
We moved into this house last year. The front yard was dominated by a huge sycamore tree. After a fall of took months to get rid of the leaves from that thing I told my neighbor that I wanted to get rid of the tree. He shared my pain as a large number of the leaves had fallen on his property as well. He had a friend who took down tress as a job so he came out and gave me a quote which was reasonable. A few months ago he came over with his two assistants, he had the gear for climbing the tree with his chain saw, cutting the limbs as he went up. His assistants loaded all limbs into their truck. After lunch he climbed back up the tree and sectioned it as he came down. They cut it into firewood size pieces and I had someone in need come over and haul the firewood away. Quite a job.
