What’s so great about today, is every one of the classic instruments in the video are available as software emulations, or samples, that are really good, and don’t have 40 year old electronics in them, that DO break down right about 40 years out. The thing I miss in those are the knobs, the faders, the buttons, all there in front of you. So, when I got the Arturia legacy synth package, and got their KeyLab controller, so I have nice, fat faders and knobs, that act just as the control on the synths. Even with the keyboard, the whole software package plus the keyboard was less than getting a Juno 106, or a TR707. way less.
Go ahead, just save money and get the vintage Roland Juno, Jupiter, JX and SH real analog synths. Not cheap software, but the actual 1980's originals. You'll love them!
707 and 106 aren't anything special, you can just as easily do this with a TR8 and a Boutique Juno for $400 in hardware, or use samples and a free VST and do it for $0 in software.
That's like suggesting someone to read a pdf version of a book. Not entirely the same thing. Even in terms of the creation process/improv the two things are worlds apart. Nowadays you see ableton youtuber going on and on about filters, compressors, sidechaining, specific sound recreations, frequency spectrums blabla. I am from a time where you plug a bunch of machines on an 8 track and just go crazy.
when youtube suggestions dry up i come back here for a reminder of whats possible, made in minutes and one of my favourite musical pieces of all time, please make a full track for this and go on spotify bro !!
I love it, for me the best tracks come from uncomplicated foundations , just layer upon layer of nice sounds that work together , some nice simple minor 7th chords on a juno sound awesome. This is why house is amazing
I think the title of this should have been: “How to make a Lo-Fi House beat? ...hold my beer...” I love me some buttons, knobs and sliders - when making music.
wow this is really cool! I don't know what is lo-fi about it, I think it is a pretty classic deep house vibe you got going there :) (which is by no mean a bad thing) You are really great at performing with your machines!
oh yes that third chord *spicy* inverted BbMaj7? and it was hard to catch where the 2 and 4 was in all that drum groove processing but when you finally wrapped it all up with the kick and we got the full groove i got a stank face. thank you youtube
Yep that's a Bbmaj7/F until the bass comes in, then it's just a Bbmaj7. Though my jazz piano eyes thought it was a Gm9 with no bass before, well, the bass. That is the same thing though. I guess its just more common to see the 9 and 3 in a m9 right next to each other when compared to the 7 & 1 in a maj7.
I don’t get how you make the Juno multitimbral like this. First I thought you were recording the audio in Ableton, but then you change the filter cutoff on the chords, how?
the only i thing i can afford in this video is the vibe
You don't need any of these things to make this track. You can spend 10% of the money and get similar results...and 90% more time.
@@IngoGarza ahah i know, i was just joking around and appreciating his tools that's all :)

RUclips algorithm did a good thing. Love the chords and bass.
thanks! I'm not responsible for the algorithm tho but I'm glad you liked it! please share this somewhere and I will try to do more in this style 🎹

"how to make lofi house"
First use $3000 worth of vintage gear, then run it through a plugin that intentionally makes it all sound bad
707 and 106 aren't anything special, you can just as easily do this with a TR8 and a Boutique Juno for $400 in hardware, or use samples and a free VST and do it for $0 in software.
download ableton or fruity loops and some samples, learn how to use a low pass filter, and you’re there
@@regularchickens Do you mean "learn how to use a lowpass filter" as in try experiment with a lowpass filter to make things sound more lo-fi?

@@HERiTAGE-ew7pf That's fine. Most people just can't afford a Juno or a 707 as of today though haha

You forgot to add that it was done in less than 3 minutes
in 3 minutes you made a better track than what radios play 90% of time
