The money you spend on YNAB is worth it to keep your information private and avoid people tracking and marketing to you. It’s easy to balance your budget against your real assets/accounts. My only real gripe is that I’d like to have more ways to make out reports for tax returns. And, I wish my wife would take budgeting more actively so I don’t have to do all the balancing.
How it handled credit cards is what made me sign up. Well, along with seeing how much money I had available to spend in groceries etc. while in the go. Pre-YNAB, I would enter the credit card expense on a current/future paycheck forecast spreadsheet. Sometimes I would forget that I already covered an expense and paid it 2x or forget one (or can’t remember what expense line I entered it on). Trying to figure WHY I was short on my payment or had a credit balance was brain exhausting.
Yeah, I love the credit card handling! It's a little hard to wrap your head around at first, but it's really a great system. It's allowed me to get tons of credit card points without stressing about accidentally ending up in debt.
Sending videos to a family member thats been asking about YNAB... thanks for a great video to share. Quick and to the point but super informative! 💜 and I agree, YNAB is the only budget system that actually works for me
Problem is it is expensive and idk, I really don't want it to feel like a chore which is my whole problem with budgeting in the first place. Idk, I'll try it at some point.
To a lot of people (me included) YNAB makes budgeting feel much more like a fun thing to play with. It's still work, but it feels so much more fun than any other form of budgeting I've tried.
It gets to be like a tetris game, juggling money around. The phone app is excellent and easy. Do take them up on their free offer for a month. The planning ahead mentality is life changing
@@SmartFamilyMoney Didn't realize you responded. Yes, I ended up doing the free trial & getting YNAB & have been converted lol It doesn't feel like a chore anymore and have stuck with it longer than any other budgeting app.
@@elizabethman7313 Yes, I did end up getting it and have had it for a little over a year now. There is a learning curve (I watched a ton of their YT videso) but I really like it. Only annoying thing is my credit card no longer auto-imports transactions, so I have to sit down & reconcile the transactions I forgot to enter which sometimes means I actually did go over budget in some areas & have to move $ around. But it's a budgeting app I actually keep doing! So yes, it's a winner.
Try YNAB now! youneedabudget.a4xxmk.net/c/373428/869639/10892?subId1=sfmyt
