+Michael Carver yup even im going for moto x .. note 5 don't have a 128 gb internal memory model .. its got only 32/64 model .. battery is also disappointed i mean iam expecting 3500-4000 mah bettery 🙈 but 3000 mah for that much resolution 😒
AnimeFan I didn't even know that was the case! I've been using the hell out of the IR blaster on my HTC One M8 to control most of my electronic systems in my house and was going to upgrade to the note 5. Guess I'll just pick up the Note edge instead. Thanks for the heads up
AT-Dw4g Yeah, it's a deal breaker for me. Spending more money for less functionality I'm used to makes ZERO sense to me. Coming from my M8, I'll loose the IR blaster, which, at the moment controls 6 devices directly on one homescreen thanks to cool smart remote shortcuts, and I loose my expandable memory. I have a LOT of music and HD home videos on my 64 GB MicroSD card and have some films on another 32 gb micro SD that I sometimes swap out when on long commutes to work. But yeah, having no IR blaster seals it. Actually looking for a note edge right now on ebay :-)

I have the Nexus 6 and I have to admit that I do love it. I dropped the first phone I got about a month after getting it directly from the Verizon store but that model had NO glitches whatsoever. The model sent to me from Asurion has several glitches. I can't be in a call and browse my internet at the same time. My screenshots and downloaded documents are nowhere to be found. The front facing camera super sucks unless the lighting is perfect but even with the model from the Verizon store it has been an issue. The best thing about this phone is the battery life and the charger. 5% battery life and you stick it on the charger for 1 hour your phone is charged to 100% and lasts for 9-10 hours minimum. Everybody always asks me what kind of phone I have. It's got loud speakers and I love the design. Debating on getting the Note 5 though...
This isn't really an upgrade from the Note 4. No compelling reason to get one over the Note 4. In fact, you could probably sell the Note 4 as an upgrade from the Note 5.
+Phillip Pugh I would argue that for power users a Note 4 would be a more feature rich upgrade for Note 3 users than a Note 5. My point is clear: in my personal opinion the Note 5 is a step backwards unless you upgrade specifically for aesthetics or for wireless charging. Again, my opinion. You are welcome to your own.
osoifamf samsung study shows most don't use the ir blaster and every test I've Seen on RUclips show that the n5 has better battery life than the note 4 just saying . Plus your get a faster processor better camera and TouchWiz is so much smoother now . And the n5 is $120 cheap then when the n4 was new
Phillip Pugh Better single battery life, but I basically have 3X on the Note 4 that because I have a total of 3 batteries that take me a total of 30 seconds to change. That option is no longer available. N5 should be cheaper, it has fewer features. Fair enough about the IR blaster. I enjoyed it.
I'm still using my note 3 and was planning to upgrade to the note 5, after I found out they took away the 2 best features for this phone (micro SD and easy battery replacement) I'm moving to iPhone since android is so convinced now to just mimic their style
Olli Jokinen Yes actually! I have a ton of music and I would like to fit it all on the phone. Obviously I could with the 64 but I need room for apps, pics, and vids too. I'm sad lol.
Still got my Note 3 but am ready to get the note 5 now. The two lost features doesn't bother me at all. I just get the 64gb and I use to the cloud storages anyway. Battery will never be an issues, I got two portable charger to play with. So I will never run out of juice when. I am playing my games. This is a great improvement!
+Phillip Pugh Huh? I said Q3 and Q4. That clearly refers to their new line of devices, which are generating a ton of buzz for having bleeding edge specs at an extremely competitive price point. And why would a price drop on a Nexus device have any indication on future sales. All devices get cheaper as the longer they stay on the marker. And since when have Nexus devices ever been a significant portion of anyone's sales (Google, Moto or HTC)? Sir you just got owned. #boom #goes #the #dynamite
Galaxy Note 4 much better, large battery, removable battery, plus micro sd card slot and premium design Another one is Moto X Style, i like this than the Note 5
what an awful direction Samsungs heading in. I got the note 4 right when it came out less than a year ago and it's already beginning to need a battery replacement. there's no way I'm buying a phone without a removable battery
Sidney Horne really a battery replacement in one year . I find that hard to believe . I know tons of friend that still have old ass iphones with the same battery get over it dude .That's where everybody is going with there newer phones
Phillip Pugh Same here, I find it FAR more likely he's got an app draining battery. A battery should last at least 3 or 4 years without showing signs of premature drain.
Sidney Horne it's not a good choice or innovation of Samsung to launch a smartphone with non - removable battery, they should innovate to the batteries themselves.
Mr Sock Newer lithium ion/polymer batteries last about 4 times that before showing signs of fatigue. They also don't suffer from issues due to fast charging like old ones did.
Expandability is what made a note a note but now with Samsungs latest update to the note series I believe they are starting the beginning of the end for the note lineup
Carritube Force you to send it back to manufacturer when the battery is depleted so that they can install a new one and charge you many moneyz for labour!
Shit. I was hoping this would be my new device. With a paltry 64gigs of internal storage and no option for an SD card, this is a no-go for me. For a while there, there was some speculation that it may include expandable storage support along the edge. Apparently not. Why did you have to build in such a massive deal breaker, Samsung? :( Guess I'm sticking with my Note 4 for the foreseeable future...
Probably. My biggest contention is I like to root and launch custom roms. Unless there's an alternate way to back up the internal storage, this reeks of huge epic fail. I was willing to forgive the storage and carry 2 phones, but that is a deal breaker.
I have a Note 3. I will NOT be upgrading to Note 5 or Edge+ unless my Note 3 breaks. Not having a removable battery or SD expansion slot is a deal breaker. I would rather wait to see what new phones are coming out with or Note 6 release...if that ever happens. New features to Note 5 are nice but not worth the upgrade. I have unlimited data so i have to pay full price for the phone. Also my carrier is now a no contract carrier. I will have to pay full price regardless. So for me its not worth the upgrade.
I see people in the comments saying its a blown up s6. Well I'm sorry to tell you guys but the Galaxy Note series was always a larger Galaxy S device, with a little more features, slightly updated software, and an S Pen.
Holy shit people complain way too much. Samsung pretty much announced a PC. An octacore processor with 4 gigabytes of ram? WTF. Why are people complaining about a fucking battery, even though it is going to have the same on screen time? 4k video and near 4k display screen? What is there to bitch about?!??!?! You can literally only bitch about how you are not getting this beauty, because of either, how fucking poor you are or for getting a freaking IPhone last year.
all we want is lighting for our selfies, clear photos and better videos, longer battery life and more storage..... you know what we need buy you will never give it to us....
I'll probably stick with my Note 4 for another year or so. I love this thing. Honestly the lack of removable battery or storage really doesn't bother me, but I really love the feel of the Note 4.
THIS phone is amazine ( Buys note 3 ) Thanks samsung for f****** up a line of good phones .. iPhones AT LEAST improves their battery as next gen comes ,, unlike samsung .. their next gen seires will have the battery lesser
It's just a blown up version of the S6. The pen-like clicking feature on the S-Pen is silly..smh I don't think Samsung was quite sure what to do with their Note device this year, doesn't have the same grandiose appeal like the Note 3 & 4. As a stock Android Nexus enthusiasts I always had an admiration for Samsung Note devices, but this device just doesn't give me the same feeling of it previous two predecessors.
S5 was very conservative but it didn't kill the S line. S6 was and still is a powerhouse. Samsung takes a conservative approach, STILL HAS THE BEST EVERYTHING ON THE MARKET, and greedy people bitch. settle your nuts man. I'm not to thrilled but it's not the end of the line for the note. Samsungs way to damn big for that.
Jeric Tan Nope, It still has the s-pen. That's the main thing about the note series. If you really need a good stylus and the note feature, then there's nothing that can replace the Note series. On the other hand, if you only need the large screen... then there are better options for you out there
+4nlimited3dition LoL. best micro SD card slot, best battery life, best removable battery. best waterproofing. Only one of those makes sense. also, Waterproofing was just a gimmick on the S5 to cover up its conservative approach. Why else would the Actives exist? ahah. the only thing they should've added was an SD. but even as a power user I can careless. I use the device for the features of the pen and business. and for me they upgraded everything enough to make it a great upgrade. the battery is 7% smaller which isn't a big deal when the phone itself is more efficent. and I'm already very happy with the Note4 battery life.
I know the 3 mayor things that Samsung decided to remove (removable battery, SD card, or blaster) but why is everyone saying it's not a note no more? it still appears to have all the note features as before? I have the 4, so I shouldn't upgrade then? please clarify
I have been a huge fan of the Note Series ever since the Note 2. I was previously an Apple purist. In fact everything else I have are Apple from iMacs to IPads to iPod Nanos. I moved over from iPhone to Note 2 because I was frustrated with Apple's screen size and the Tech. As Josh said the Note series has always set itself apart from the S series in terms of design language. The tech was also one up from the current year Galaxy S series. As such, ever since the Note 2 I have always looked forward to the next gen Note; in fact I have the Note 2, Note 3 and Note 4. But the Note 5 is a little "meeeeh" for me... It's now basically a larger S Series with a stylus.. Even the tech under the hood is the same. Because of that, I'm still sitting on the fence if I want to get the Note 5. Not sure if there are any Note fans who feel the same as I do???? - Roy
+Fabian Pacheco I went with the LG G4 from a Samsung Galaxy s3. The lack of micro SD and removable batteries are the last straw. I'm not going to support a company that doesn't support their real customers. I'm loving the LG g4, they sent me a free battery with charger and a 32gb micro SD just for purchasing it in the first month. Just bought a third battery on ebay for 4 bucks, all of them quick charge. I'll never run out of storage or battery! Samsung has let me down big time, but I'm very happy with my decision to stay clear from them for now.
vTraumah and the note 5 will have a why better ram management so the small advantage in battery size is mute , only phone with a much bigger battery nobody cared to buy the Droid turbo
im a huge Galaxy Note Fan Ive Owned Them All Pretty Much. Note 1,2,3 and now im using The Note Edge. Not Really Liking The No Removable Battery Or No Expanded Mem In The Note 5 Can become an issue later on if battery ever needs to be replaced. Think Ill Stick With My Note Edge.
Homeboy Chris No basically needed...This is why I do not believe in product loyalty. They got popular and folded to the masses. Happens all the time. Time to shop in China. [That is once I find my note 3 no longer capable.]
Wasn't a question. It was a sarcastic remark from SeanyMacks. - He was just being funny. (Explained: He was saying that, You "pissing them off" for removing the external storage & battery by buying an iPhone is really irrelevant/dumb because iPhone doesn't have those features either.) -Basically, your comment woulda made more sense if you said you were gonna switch to a different phone that still HAS those 2 features. -- (If you're still confused by his comment, since, only other sarcastic people can understand sarcasm in written form on the Internet. Here's a perfect Example: You're upset at Mc Donald's for not selling Hotdogs, so to "get back at Mc D's", you go and buy food from one of their competitors, let's say Burger King. But it doesn't make sense cuz Burger King doesn't sell Hotdogs either... Lol. Sooo yeh.)
improvements doesn't meant copy the competition it means keeping all the things that your consumers love about your product and improving on your software. and in our case is that means keeping the physically removable battery and physically expandable memory and putting the speaker back on the bottom of the phone itself the new sleep looks cool but being able to physically customize your phone is what makes Samsung one of the best Android devices.
where am I able to get the note 5 in gold? that's what I want to know? why advertise it in america but it seems like its not going to be available in US
Wow, I'm obsessing over the new live RUclips video feature that can accessed straight from the Camera!!! ahh and the touch fingerprint instead of the dragging on the note 4 is something I was praying the new Note 5 would have!!! PLUS its smaller than the Note 4 which is also what I was praying for!!! ahhh
when does the note 6 come out? next time i swap phones im torn between the next iphone or next note. ive always brought galaxy note's because iphone are too restricting and everyone owns one (because they follow the crowd haha) but still the notes always have a similar UI which im getting bored of (iphone also do but it would be a change from owning androids) Im unsure?!
you can optimize your note 5, or any s6 divices for your display to look like 4k very easily. Just download and use pearl theme, and cherry theme from theme store and your screen is more optimize more crisp display that looks like a 4k display.
Samsung created a monster of a SOC with Exynos 7420 for the S6, but I was kinda disappointed they didn't release an updated SOC for the Note like they do every year. They always had a faster processor ready for the Note when it releases 6 years after the S, but this year they're using the same processor. Maybe it just isn't needed because 7420 does a good enough job, but I kind of worry if they might not have hit a brick wall in SOC development.
Get mine tomorrow. storage is not a big deal to me and there are a ton of cloud storage options for very cheap. I get unlimited 4G LTE so using the cloud for videos/photos is no problem. but the 4GB of ram + HDMI to TV is back. both to die for ☺☺☺☺😊😊😊
As a loyal Samsung guy, I can deal with not being able to remove the battery. But no expandable storage?? That is one of the MAIN features that really separates Samsung devices from the rest. Then, they're only offering a 32gb/64gb. Had they offered 128gb, I could live with that even. (Sigh) Having said that, I'll just keep my Note 4 and wait for the Note 6. Hopefully the expandable storage will be back.
The Note line is always something I've considered to be for power users. I don't understand why they would remove expandable storage and a removable battery. I might as well just go with the Note 4 now.
I care more about the Sd card slot than removable battery, that can be fixed with portable charging kits etc. even then the battery last well over a day. What I don't get was why couldn't the sd card slot be placed on the side of the phone, or bottom. They say they sacrificed it for functionality and design, but all in all they weren't trying hard enough. Pity, this phone would have been perfect with it.
this phone is quite impressive compared to other samsung devices in terms of features and UI too. I liked this device's ram, the display size and the new features of the s pen. The camera looks preety good as showed in above video. The multiwindow is also quite fast and from video i can judge that that multitasking between many apps is sure gonna be lot easier than other devices. Android Authority i want to ask you guys something that how good is the sound quality? and how good is the hdr mode in note 5? and is there a hdr+ mode available for this device? plz do reply guys 😊
Went from a Note 3 to the Note Edge and i love both but not going back to Samsung after they took out the removable battery and the SD Card slot. Guess next phone will be the G5
Honestly Idc about the non-replaceable battery. I'm just wondering what I would do if it had expandable storage? Like, I use my iPod for music.. Computers for movies. What else would I need expandable storage? To take a shit ton of pictures and video? I barely open the camera app, so space with that wouldn't be an issue... I'm still just figuring out a con it would be for me without expandable storage, other than having up to 128+GB extra storage but with my usage would be useless... Any ideas what else I could be missing without the expandable storage?
I don't really get it.. is it that we can't have a big battery and big storage in the n5? these are features we would hve been glad to waste money on and not some metal glass enlarged s6.. rip note...
I had the Galaxy S3, Note 3 and i currently have the Note 4. I am a Samsung fan. I hate the fact that the Note 5 doesn't have edge display and a removable battery. SD cards suck and they are unreliable. Cloud storage is a better way to store pics etc without becoming unreadable like SD cards. I dont know if i can be even bothered with purchasing the Note 5. Many of us Note 4 holders may not he motivated to get it. Not much of a difference.
I still have the Samsung Note 2 with 32gb of hard drive space and I had to get a 64gb card to expand that due to the fact I take and save a lot of phtos. I'm a photographer, videographer, and artist. Therefore I need lots of storage and I assume a lot of other people do as well in this time and age. No sd slot!!! That sucks!!!
Can someone help me out. This doesn't happen with all my songs but with the stock my player on certain songs i get this really irritating clicking sound. This never happened on my note 3 or my laptop. Ive tried emptying the cache, trying other music players, deleting and recopying the songs and a full on factory reset. Running Android 5.1.1
Will we be able supplement the storage on the Note 5 by using an OTG cable and USB storage? Also what type of USB cable plug does the Note 5 use? Regards, Stephen
main reason I'm not getting this. no 128gb option. I can carry a battery pack that's not an issue, but the highest is 64 gb? might switch over to apple and sell my note 4.
Hi Josh.... may I request if you can include in the full review... connecting external drive to note5...? Just like what I do to my note3. (Seagate 1TB-as long as the format is exfat or fat32) thank you.
Basically a S6 Plus but with pen, that takes away 2 features that people liked the most. A removable battery and SD storage. Samsung should just rename this as the S6 Plus and then have another go at creating the Note 5 lmao
Awwww I really want that phone... Ive only used IPhones for smartphone, but I think galaxy series have better camera, function, etc.. It must be very difficult to create a phone like that, so I appreciate their effort.. thanks so much for making our life much easier..
innerearthning the N4 is actually my first premium phone ever, and while it's not a bad phone I thought it was going to be an amazing phone thst was well the next big thing like Samsung said. I was expecting it have amazing features that wasn't offered in other android smartphones okay so yes it has the S Pen which truly sets this phone apart, but I don't even use it. I love that it's still offered and is part of the phone a long with the IT blaster to control the TV although I don't use it much lol. my only problem is that has poor call reception it wasn't like that when I first bought this phone November will make a year of ownership for the N4 however it has a large battery it doesn't last long .
As a heavy s-pen (and wacom tablet) user, I don't think there's anything that can replace my note3 other than the newer note devices. However, 32 and 64GB storage options without SD card slot really does not make any sense to me.
Samsung: Explain to me *WHY IN THE FUCK THE BATTERY IS SMALLER THAN THE NOTE 4's AND THE S6 ACTIVE!?*
I'm waiting for the review.
Same
Lol.. Trueeee
TheRealdealdude2 probably faster charging time on wireless!
Faster charging, efficient processor, efficient screen
Andrew Kim What does the battery have to do with it? That doesn't mean you can't use fast charging with a bigger battery than your previous phone.
And we've now reached the point where the note 4 is by far the better general choice for those who don't care about glass on the back.
No one's gonna comment on that new slick intro?
Tim Kuipers I was thinking the same thing.
Tim Kuipers Yeah, its awesome! They have had their old intro for long enough. :D
I fucking love it
how many of you guys think moto x style is much better ?
+Michael Carver yup even im going for moto x .. note 5 don't have a 128 gb internal memory model .. its got only 32/64 model .. battery is also disappointed i mean iam expecting 3500-4000 mah bettery 🙈 but 3000 mah for that much resolution 😒

AnimeFan I didn't even know that was the case! I've been using the hell out of the IR blaster on my HTC One M8 to control most of my electronic systems in my house and was going to upgrade to the note 5. Guess I'll just pick up the Note edge instead. Thanks for the heads up
I was waiting badly for note 5 but after knowing there is no IR blaster.... I'm devastated!
DSt3alth EXACTLY the same case im in.I have a 60 inch tv in my room with no cable. I use my htc one M8 to control my tv, hulu, and netflix.
Khaled Yousef is it that serious!?
AT-Dw4g Yeah, it's a deal breaker for me. Spending more money for less functionality I'm used to makes ZERO sense to me. It's literally 2$ a month more then the note 4 on AT&T Next plan.

The Note 4 is the best phone I've ever had..I bought mine the first of December, and haven't had a problem, but off contract it's still 700$...It's worth it though.
note 4 looks more slick.. I was actually expecting something better
I love my Note 4 so much more right now and I thought I already loved it too much!!
they should've offered 64 and 128gb as the two options.
If 128 was an option this would of been my next phone. now I gotta go with the Note 4.
L.R.B. TOMORROW online storage :D
We will see
Andrew Minarik yeah that would have made sense with a so called "professional device" these mf'ers think we're clowns
***** yeah with my 2.5gb of tmobile lte. That's gonna last about one day

I still prefer the Note 4. The note 5 looks kinda bulky at top & bottom, also not being able to expand storage & switch batteries is a big "NO" for me.
Kenny Adedipe its smaller in size then the note 4 and since you havnt had your paws on it how could you know that
+Phillip Pugh he said that it looks, not feels.
Kenny Adedipe I totally agree with you man, it's not worth the upgrade for me right now, i'll wait for the note 6.

It's convenient to just used it rather than using otg BS
The new intro animation is slick Android Authority!
3000mAh battery.... No expandable storage and no removable battery? Good Job samsung.
note 4 better
lol samsung really went down this year I don't think they're going the right path
Ore 2 they're taking the path of Apple, for the average consumer.
'Ooh, but its shiny!'
+tekken3omm45 y is the note 4 better?? because of those 2 things?? that's a pretty stupid reason!! the phone has more ram, better picture quality, it's faster, more features.....how does not having a removable battery and expandable memory impact those features to the point where the 5 is subpar to the 4?? overall Same as S6 except RAM, Display size and stylus.
and doesn't have ir blaster
and no 128gb storage avalaible
+rio sena yes theyre is
and the reason why no microsdcard.bcoz in UFS 2.0 sdcard make the slower speed in UFS.

osoifamf samsung study shows most don't use the ir blaster and every test I've Seen on RUclips show that the n5 has better battery life than the note 4 just saying .
No 128gb option?? WTF Samsung! I have like 40 gigs of music alone!
What the fuck? I have a bit over 60 songs and that takes about 200 mt. So you have like freaking 4000 songs? :D
Olli Jokinen Yes actually! I have a ton of music and I would like to fit it all on the phone. Obviously I could with the 64 but I need room for apps, pics, and vids too. I'm sad lol.
***** I don't have the data for that
+Olli Jokinen wtf you only own 60 songs?
You don't have wifi?
Still got my Note 3 but am ready to get the note 5 now. The two lost features doesn't bother me at all. I just get the 64gb and I use to the cloud storages anyway. Battery will never be an issues, I got two portable charger to play with. So I will never run out of juice when. I am playing my games. This is a great improvement!
Motorola is going to kill it in Q3 and Q4.
mikecantreed haha really is that why they drop the price on the nexus 6 by 300 dollors and the moto x though a good phone that nobody purchased
Ladies and gentleman! For his next trick, He's going to say blackberry will become relevant again.
+EvairsoftProductions lol
***** ahem, Blackberry Passport Silver Edition released a few days ago xD
I ordered one of these just yesterday. Super excited!!!
Galaxy Note 4 much better, large battery, removable battery, plus micro sd card slot and premium design Another one is Moto X Style, i like this than the Note 5
So the Note 4 is still the best phablet in the world then good times.
what an awful direction Samsungs heading in.
A battery should last at least 3 or 4 years without showing signs of premature drain.
most batteries have 500 cycles before deteriorating
Sidney Horne it's not a good choice or innovation of Samsung to launch a smartphone with non - removable battery, they should innovate to the batteries themselves.
Mr Sock Newer lithium ion/polymer batteries
last about 4 times that before showing signs of fatigue. They also don't suffer from issues due to fast charging like old ones did.
Expandability is what made a note a note but now with Samsungs latest update to the note series I believe they are starting the beginning of the end for the note lineup
many phones are going in the direction of not having a removable battery or sd I don't understand
They do it to make more money.
+Josh Hernandez I don't understand how would that help then make more money?
Carritube Force you to send it back to manufacturer when the battery is depleted so that they can install a new one and charge you many moneyz for labour!
+Oliver Armstrong true
the pause and then saying android needs to change lol. great video like always though. Android authority ftw!!
I think sales will show to. I cant see this phone selling as Many units as the note4
Felt the same way :) GMTA and I am stuck with a damn Note 3. I feel like a dinosaur.
Let's hope they drop a Note 5 Plus or something shortly afterward that has expandable storage. That's asking too much though, I'm sure.
Probably. My biggest contention is I like to root and launch custom roms. Unless there's an alternate way to back up the internal storage, this reeks of huge epic fail. I was willing to forgive the storage and carry 2 phones, but that is a deal breaker.
***** I'm still using a GNote 1 (N7000 int CM11)and luv it, along with my SGalaxyS (i1900 CM11) I must be primal soup if you're a dinosaur!
Jon.
Yes! I knew they were going to change their intro soon! That music is badass.
Nice device I am a note user, the lack of storage don't bother me to much but really wanted that removable battery, thanks for the video ☺
I don't fucking want a damn Touch ID, stop putting unnecessary functions in phones I just want longer battery.
You are so damn right.
all we want is lighting for our selfies, clear photos and better videos, longer battery life and more storage..... you know what we need buy you will never give it to us....
I feeling ya. they copied off of Crapple.
m8 on my note 4 i have a 10,000 mah battery case ;)
Gerardo Aguirre
battery case? what kind of sorcery is this??
I'll probably stick with my Note 4 for another year or so. I love this thing. Honestly the lack of removable battery or storage really doesn't bother me, but I really love the feel of the Note 4.
A 3,000 MAh battery!?...why you do dis to me Sammy?
Ordered my black 64GB, 2 cases, 2 temp glass protectors. Can't wait!
This cellphone makes the iphone looks like a child phone. Excelent applications.
guess that means im done with Galaxy phones...non removable batteries and no extra storage...pfft!
I just picked up my Note 5 today and it's absolutely amazing !
Beauty and nothing. Note series is dead. Year of Dead(2015).
*Death
S5 was very conservative but it didn't kill the S line. S6 was and still is a powerhouse.
Samsung takes a conservative approach, STILL HAS THE BEST EVERYTHING ON THE MARKET, and greedy people bitch.
settle your nuts man. I'm not to thrilled but it's not the end of the line for the note. Samsungs way to damn big for that.
***** Oh right, the S6 has the best battery life, best SD card slot, best removable back cover + removable battery, best water proofing... *not*
Jeric Tan Nope, It still has the s-pen.
I have the 4, so I shouldn't upgrade then? please clarify
note 4 look better
- Roy
Disappointing failure. I thought Samsung would learn from their lack of battery mistake on the S6.
What's with the glossy back? Is that a mirror they could not get right?
Just order my new Iphone 6 plus
when will they release note 5 and s 6 edge plus in india and how r they both in Indian rupees and did they release both of them in Saudi Arabia
No battery. No expansion slot. Deal breaker. I'll NOT be upgrading to a Note 5.
Maybe try the LG G4? That one has expandable everything and I've heard good things about it.
deftone4u Thanks for the heads up! I'll certainly give that one a look.
I would settle for a note 4
+Fabian Pacheco I went with the LG G4 from a Samsung Galaxy s3. The lack of micro SD and removable batteries are the last straw. I'm not going to support a company that doesn't support their real customers. I'm loving the LG g4, they sent me a free battery with charger and a 32gb micro SD just for purchasing it in the first month. Just bought a third battery on ebay for 4 bucks, all of them quick charge. I'll never run out of storage or battery! Samsung has let me down big time, but I'm very happy with my decision to stay clear from them for now.
playtothebone my current phone is an lg g3 and im probably gonna keep it for a while. It has everything i want from a phone
I also wondered what do you do if the phone freezes and you don't have a removable battery?
lol 3000 mah on huge screen bravo sumsung
Liverpoolbest1 and how many phones have a bigger battery the note 5 . not many
+Phillip Pugh note 4 lol
vTraumah and the note 5 will have a why better ram management so the small advantage in battery size is mute , only phone with a much bigger battery nobody cared to buy the Droid turbo
3000 amp but the battery last longer in test do your homework before making a blanket statement
im a huge Galaxy Note Fan Ive Owned Them All Pretty Much. Note 1,2,3 and now im using The Note Edge. Not Really Liking The No Removable Battery Or No Expanded Mem In The Note 5 Can become an issue later on if battery ever needs to be replaced. Think Ill Stick With My Note Edge.
Samsung basically just sold out.
Homeboy Chris No basically needed...This is why I do not believe in product loyalty. They got popular and folded to the masses. Happens all the time. Time to shop in China. [That is once I find my note 3 no longer capable.]
+Samuel Wells Because the iPhone 6 had a removable battery and SD card lot right? /s
Wasn't a question. It was a sarcastic remark from SeanyMacks.
- He was just being funny.
(Explained: He was saying that, You "pissing them off" for removing the external storage & battery by buying an iPhone is really irrelevant/dumb because iPhone doesn't have those features either.)
-Basically, your comment woulda made more sense if you said you were gonna switch to a different phone that still HAS those 2 features.
Lol. Sooo yeh.)
basically. .they digg they're own grave
They just took away like 3 or 4 key features. .main key features that made galaxy stand out
I'm going to ATT to get a new phone today. Note 5 or Note 4? I don't know if I can do with my SD card slot though :(
It's official, I'm not getting the note 5
its funny because my galaxy s6 edge camera kept buzzing overtime i open it and found out a lot of owners suffer from this with out noticing it
This is shit. Step back from the Note 4. I will be buying the G4 it looks like.
who cares??
***** Looks like you care enough to comment. Moron.
+Deni91 yep, I do....because I'm not on here crying about shit that doesn't matter, so....it's fine with me, but stop crying tho!!
Shit that doesn´t matter to you, but it does matter to me. So i can bitch and cry all i want. You are an idiot.
+Deni91 nope, actually u are, buying extra batteries for a phone that'd obselete in 6 months (or sooner)!! dumbass!!
Will wait for Note 6 or what ever LG comes out with still happy with my note 4
RIP Note series. I can now say that I was a proud note 3 user.
improvements doesn't meant copy the competition it means keeping all the things that your consumers love about your product and improving on your software. and in our case is that means keeping the physically removable battery and physically expandable memory and putting the speaker back on the bottom of the phone itself the new sleep looks cool but being able to physically customize your phone is what makes Samsung one of the best Android devices.
where am I able to get the note 5 in gold? that's what I want to know? why advertise it in america but it seems like its not going to be available in US
Hmm, on Samsung website it show the Note 5 options available with 128gb. I wonder if thats true or an error?
I get unlimited 4G LTE so using the cloud for videos/photos is no problem. but the 4GB of ram + HDMI to TV is back. both to die for ☺☺☺☺😊😊😊
I still use this as my notebook, this phone is still fast, and the screen is amazing!
Man this thing is beautiful. Interested to see how the battery life is going to be.
I'm this video with my Note 5 in 2017 yes with my Galaxy Note 5!! and i'm waiting for the Galaxy Note 8 this year
As a loyal Samsung guy, I can deal with not being able to remove the battery.
The Galaxy Note 5 was my first official phone from samsung and i absolutely loved it.
Great vid, thanks for sharing. I have also read there's no IR Blaster on the new Note 5! Bummer, I stick with my Note 4 for now!
The Note line is always something I've considered to be for power users. I don't understand why they would remove expandable storage and a removable battery. I might as well just go with the Note 4 now.
I don't mind if they take away the removable SD Card slot and battery, but I'm disappointed that there isn't a 128 GB version.
Pity, this phone would have been perfect with it.
so they didn't make a Note 5 Edge? I think im just gonna go with s6 edge .I love big phone but I wanted the edge
this phone is quite impressive compared to other samsung devices in terms of features and UI too.
Years later, no company can make the pen respond in real time. Such a pain to even look at the delays.
Went from a Note 3 to the Note Edge and i love both but not going back to Samsung after they took out the removable battery and the SD Card slot. Guess next phone will be the G5
The picture quality and fps on this video was stunning.
Congrats for the video!!! Can'u say me wth the camera u used for record this review? tnks
I don't really get it.. is it that we can't have a big battery and big storage in the n5? these are features we would hve been glad to waste money on and not some metal glass enlarged s6.. rip note...
I'm still nerd raging over the removal of the battery and micro SD slot. ...
wow,not sure what he talked about the samsung note 5 but yeah, here you can got original s pen and back battery door cover and the middle housing
+app big stores.ebay.com/sunandmoom
The back looks a bit like Xiaomi Mi Note with the subtle curve at the edge. Loving it.
Regards,
Stephen
main reason I'm not getting this. no 128gb option.
The all glass design works for the consumer-centric Galaxy S line, but it just doesn't feel right for the Note line
As a heavy s-pen (and wacom tablet) user, I don't think there's anything that can replace my note3 other than the newer note devices. However, 32 and 64GB storage options without SD card slot really does not make any sense to me.
