And what couldn't it keep even a small part of Sinai after the war. And the 3rd army although in a difficult position it was certainly not defeated and they had food (fish) and water (desalination) from the canal that could have kept them fighting for a very long time.
Israel accepted their new country but Arab nations around them didn't and so they attacked. So what is the meaning of free Palestine? They attacked Israel first and Israel might be the one to end it first.

I want to understand how they won. First, we destroyed the Bar-Lev line, and secondly, we penetrated 15 kilometers into the Sinai Third, America helped you with the latest weapons, and we have slightly weak weapons And America ended the war because of Saudi Arabia's cutting off oil
The objective was never to regain the entirety of sinai, read Sadat's and General Al Shazli's diaries and you will understand why. Israel was offered a peace treaty by Egypt in 1971 in exchange for only 30 kilometers of Sinai, but Israel refused. After 1973, Israel accepted a peace treaty in exchange for the entire Sinai peninsula. Why is that? Because before 1973, Israel held the upper hand over Egypt, and never viewed Egypt as a threat in any way because they were the victorious side on 1967, so they did not have to accept anything Egypt offered, but they did not even have to sit on the negotiations table. Moshe Dayan said after Israel was offered the deal in 1971: "If i had to advise the government to choose between the Egyptian diplomatic demands of withdrawal, or having them to open fire, i would rather to choose the Egyptian fire" And this is evidence to what I said. Now when we come to the 6th October war, we all agree that Egypt was decisively victorious on the first 10 days of the war. But we differ on the last 14-6 days when Israel launched its counterattack by sneaking in 2 battalions led by Adan and Sharon behind the Egyptian frontlines in Sinai through the Deversoir opening. Here are some quotes that sum this up. The 2'Oclock war by Walter J. Boyne: "Unfortunately for Adan, the cover story proved to be the real story as his attempts to seize the city of Suez turned into a bloody debacle. Far from being empty, Suez turned out to be a wasps' nest of Egyptian defenders who had been transferred over from the east bank. The main problem for the Israelis was the narrow streets of the city. One Israeli armored column of twenty-one tanks and fifteen APCs stretched for more than a mile, in part surrounded by buildings as much as seven stories high. It was the custom for Israeli tank commanders to stand in the open hatches of their tanks, so that they could survey the battle better. All hell broke lose when the Egyptians unleashed a barrage of fire from the buildings. Antitank weapons were fired from lower floors while machine gun fire and hand grenades rained down from above. Within minutes, only four tank commanders were left, the rest having been wounded or killed. The column dissolved as the vehicles, or sometimes just the crews, fled the scene, unable to fight back. In addition, two contingents of paratroopers had been cut off in separate sections of the city, and repeated attempts to rescue them had failed. When it became dark, the survivors made their way in small groups through the city streets and alleys back to Israeli lines. By the end of October 24, Adan was forced to retreat from the city, having lost forty tanks and suffered two hundred casualties, eighty of them killed in action. It was a stupid and unnecessary action, one that Elazar deplored. It might have been some consolation to Adan that Sharon was doing no better in the north. It had long been Sharon's claim that he could sweep to the north and trap the Egyptian 2nd Army, providing Israel with an almost perfect position in negotiations. The Egyptian commando forces, which had fought well throughout the war, stymied Sharon's forces with familiar tactics, used Saggers and RPGs to stop his tanks. Sharon, for his part, was now very willing to observe the cease-fire." 1973 Arab-Israeli War: The Albatross Of Decisive Victory by George Walter Gawrych: "Moreover, to everyone's surprise, including Sadat and senior officers back in Cairo, surrounded Egyptian forces on the east bank maintained their combat integrity. Finally, and perhaps most important, Second Army's position remained secure on both the east and west banks. Thus, the final week of the war offered more sobering combat experiences for Israel, despite its operational and tactical successes, thereby undermining any chance of a clear Israeli strategic victory. During this last phase of the war, the Egyptian Armed Forces continued to inflict a heavy toll in Israeli blood and treasure. In this regard, Egyptian field officers and line troops made up for the senior command's seeming paralysis by fulfilling Sadat's strategic objective of inflicting the greatest possible losses in men and equipment on the IDF. Furthermore, by clearly demonstrating a new combat staying power, the Egyptian Armed Forces presented Israel with vivid testimony that a future conflict between Egypt and Israel could exact a heavy price in Jewish lives. The full impact of this lesson would surface only after the war, once the Israelis had time to reflect on the conflict." And according to David Elazar chief of Israeli headquarter staff on December 3, 1973: "As for the third army, in spite of our encircling them they resisted and advanced to occupy in fact a wider area of land at the east. Thus, we can not say that we defeated or conquered them."

If we going into details as why that happened, its mostly because it was on hoilest day in Israel, the majoiry of the barlev line was deserted and only few troops there. They took it, yes. But not like men, and we could retake it easily, but we choose to crowned them by crossing into egypt afterward. Learn a little about what happened in barlev line, the egypt troops was asking their commanders what are we doing, we are fighting nothing. While their mainland is getting slowly taking away. Alright here am talking about the yom kippur war Firstly, the casualties of Egypt AND Syria combined are 10k. Ofcourse the other casualty numbers are exaggerated, THEY ARE MORE THAN WHAT THE 2 FORCES ENTERED WITH LOL. the numbers are all wrong, the casualties and starting number of all sides should be rechecked. But anyway casualties were never a scale to military success. The aspect arguable here is the result. Syria lost the war, no complications. But Egypt did not. And... I welcome any counter arguments!
I hear your opinion, but in my opinion Egypt did not win the war Egypt and Syria attacked Isreal, Syria lost and Egypt gained no land. So Isreal vs Egypt 1973 seemed like a tie between isreal and Egypt, and a lose for Syria. "The war began on 6 October 1973, when the Arab coalition jointly launched a surprise attack against Israel on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur, which had occurred during the 10th of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan in that year; Egyptian and Syrian forces crossed their corresponding ceasefire lines with Israel" Isreal ended up winning, The Egyptian and Syrian Armys got equipment from the Soviets. And after Initial gains by both sides they were eventually stopped. "The counterattack majorly turned the tide of the war in favour of the Israelis, and the fighting came to a stalemate"
@@geographyiscool3085 Let me clarify that Israel was defeated and Golda begged Nixon to "save Israel". This led to the US direct intervention in the war and this is why Israel made gains towards the end. Only then the Egyptians turned to the Soviets. If it was a stalemate Israel would have kept a part of Sinai and returned the other part in exchange for peace. The Egyptians refused and threatened to resume the war. Only then Israel agreed to the peace terms set by the Egyptians. It might not be a decisive victory but for me our initial objective was getting the East bank. We ended up with entire Sinai so I'd say we've over achieved our objectives. Anyway as long as the Palastenians don't have their state I don't see a way for real and lasting peace.
@@Planet_Xplorer I hear your opinion, But Egypt threating war wasn't really true, Egypt was beaten back, And Yes isreal had American help, but Egypt and Syria had Soviet help from the start. Also Isreal defended the entire Siani peninsula, Yes with U.S help. That is why I think it was a stale mate. But I hear you.
@@geographyiscool3085 The objective of Egypt from the war was to cross the canal, destroy the barlev line, advance to 20-30 kilometers in to Sinai (stopping exactly at the range of the air defense Forces deployed on the west bank), rest of the war would be defending against Israeli counterattacks. The Egyptian army succeeded in achieving the objectives, and defended against counterattacks from Israel. Most Israeli counterattacks were ineffective except for one called operation abirey halev, which the main objective of it was to sneak 2 forces one led by Adan and one Sharon to invade the city of Ismalia and Suez city in order to cut the supply lines of the second Egyptian field army thus holding the upper hand in negotiations. However the Israelis failed to achieve their goals at the end in the battle of Ismalia and the battle of Suez, and suffered huge casualties as a result, and another result of these two battles specifically the battle of Ismalia was that the vanguard of the Egyptian third army breaking its partial encirclement to advance from 3 KMs on the east bank to 20 KMs. At the end the disengagement of forces agreement on the Egyptian front occured in the beggining of the year 1974 and was modified in the year 1975, with Egypt completely controlling the east bank and a bit further and a united nations buffer zone stretching until Sharm El sheikh leaving Israel with zone C and a small part of zone B until the agreement in 1977 finally. Also regarding the Soviet support: Egyptian president Sadat sent off all Soviet specialists deployed on the west bank as a step to improve relations with the USA and Israel in 1971 following the offer of peace to Israel in exchange of Sinai's east bank which Israel refused. The Soviets were not real allies in hard times, all they sent are old weapons from world war 2 even the mig 21 planes didn't carry any rockets and no cannons at all, that is apart from the new anti tanks and Osa boats.

@@mohamadmohy1674 There was this thing called a peace treaty which happened in 1978.
Keep in mind Israel withdrew from Sinai in 1981.
love Israel from 🇮🇳
The objective was never to regain the entirety of sinai, read Sadat's and General Al Shazli's diaries and you will understand why.
Moshe Dayan said after Israel was offered the deal in 1971: "If i had to advise the government to choose between the Egyptian diplomatic demands of withdrawal, or having them to open fire, i would rather to choose the Egyptian fire"
And this is evidence to what I said.
Boyne:
"Unfortunately for Adan, the cover story proved to be the real story as his attempts to seize the city of Suez turned into a bloody debacle. Sharon, for his part, was now very willing to observe the cease-fire."
1973 Arab-Israeli War: The Albatross Of Decisive Victory by George Walter Gawrych:
"Moreover, to everyone's surprise, including Sadat and senior officers back in Cairo, surrounded Egyptian forces on the east bank maintained their combat integrity. The full impact of this lesson would surface only after the war, once the Israelis had time to reflect on the conflict."
And according to David Elazar chief of Israeli headquarter staff on December 3, 1973:
"As for the third army, in spite of our encircling them they resisted and advanced to occupy in fact a wider area of land at the east. Thus, we can not say that we defeated or conquered them."

Firstly, the casualties of Egypt AND Syria combined are 10k.
تحيا مصر 👍
@@geographyiscool3085
The objective of Egypt from the war was to cross the canal, destroy the barlev line, advance to 20-30 kilometers in to Sinai (stopping exactly at the range of the air defense Forces deployed on the west bank), rest of the war would be defending against Israeli counterattacks.
Also regarding the Soviet support:
Egyptian president Sadat sent off all Soviet specialists deployed on the west bank as a step to improve relations with the USA and Israel in 1971 following the offer of peace to Israel in exchange of Sinai's east bank which Israel refused.
The Soviets were not real allies in hard times, all they sent are old weapons from world war 2 even the mig 21 planes didn't carry any rockets and no cannons at all, that is apart from the new anti tanks and Osa boats.
