Lachka-Gota
“Gota”, “Lachka”, “Banat” and “Bel” are different types of embellished and intricate cloth trimmings or laces, attached to different attires as decoration. The art of making it goes back to more than hundreds of years. Originally done by hand and using real silver and gold, now like any other art form, this is also done by machines using more affordable metal wires. Mr. Agrawal in this video, takes us through different Gota designs and the journey of its making through the years.
