I own a 2022 Lexus RX450h - the last model year with a V6, and that’s why I purchased it. I love this luxury vehicle and with 350 hp, it gives me all the speed and torque I need at any speed, 30MPG, and zero problems/recalls. Being middle aged, it may outlast me and I am not purchasing a turbo-4 cylinder vehicle. Great videos Scotty and I truly enjoy them.
Oh just brought a 2014 RX 350 after doing some research! I think I’m in love! It’s nice and I don’t those nasty disapproving stares like I get in my other vehicle!
I never felt love for Car and Driver or any of the others-but you-Scotty Kilmer! You are my favorite! All of God's blessings to you and your beloved family brotherman!!!
I am a big fan of the 3.5 and have one in a 2017 ES daily. But they do have the potential for timing chain cover leaks, especially in the older versions, along with early water pump failure and coils. The last two items are not really a big deal, but the timing chain cover is well into the 4 figures due to labor. If you're buying one, it's worth having an inspection to see if you're buying a future 5-6K repair bill that someone else wanted to avoid. That said, it's still a great engine and I will miss it. I agree that the new turbo 4 raises some concerns, but in the RX I just had as a loaner, I found that in around town driving you really don't need a lot of throttle as peak torque comes in low. However, it gets really thrashy and agricultural when you step on it. I'd still take the old 3.5 or 4.3 over almost any other engine out there.
Scotty, if you had every car you said you were buying you'd have Jay Leno's stable in your tiny garage. Why don't you go ahead and get a secure building in TN and start a collection and do a Jay Leno's Garage show on RUclips.
I had a 2012 VW CC with the turbo 4 TSi engine. It was great for a while then in started burning a quart of oil every 100 miles.... that's right... one hundred miles.
I hate to break this to you, scotty. But when people drive a nat asp civic, they wind it up to yellow line regularly. It's not just turbo cars that get flogged. Mustangs, camaros.... other such non turbo cars.
Love these so much I bought two. 2011 and 2013. One is from Japan and the other from Canada. 140k miles each. Both run 100% and still beautiful inside and out. I believe both will run another 100k miles.
i just returned from k.c. after purchasing a 14 es 350 for 14K. the 2 previous owners took wonderful care of it and it only has 100K and i am the happiest dude imaginable. it is a work of artful engineering and the best ride imaginable with a v6. you must get one you can afford. it is the greatest.........
The 3.3 liter V6 in my 07' Highlander and 3.5 liter V6 in my 19' GS 350 are awesome engines. Toyota/Lexus new Turbo 4 crap engines cannot even come close to the smoothness, refinement, and durability of these V6 engines.
If the govt would stay out of our business we'd all be far better off. Toyota would never have gone to these crappy little turbo fours if not for govt interference. The old adage will always be true. There's no replacement for displacement
Please warn your subscribers about the oil coolant hoses in these lexus rx350s. I have a 2011 and it burst lost most of the oil and stranded me on highway. These were known to fail amd had a service campaign that expired in 2021. I could of lost entire car but luckily someone flagged me down on highway saying car was smoking. Oil was everywhere.
I bought a 2021 Lexus rx350L last year because is had the touchscreen & the V6. Lexus can keep the turbo 4 in the new RX. The 350L was also made in Japan. ( The turbo 4 in the new RX also requires premium fuel which costs an average of $1.20 per gallon more than regular )
I need your advice. I have two vehicles and have decided to size down: a 2013 Lexus GX 460 and a 2024 4Runner TRD Pro Terra. They both run great. No issues. None. Smooth rides. Should I keep the 4Runner? Depreciates less. But I don’t really need. The GX460 will depreciate a lot less at this point. Which one should I keep? Should I invent the money in the S&P 500 instead??
I mean it probably well just like the V8..the v6 is expensive to make as well..Toyota/Lexus is downsizing for cost/profitability..inflation is what it is..your choice as a consumer to buy 😊
I realllllyyyyy like those years of Lexus, I think I’d buy a LS before the SUVs but girl I’m not picking and choosing here on this very day. I’ve got a 2010 Camry XLE and that’s enough luxury for me!😌
That is my algebra teachers car😭 he backed into a pole a few weeks ago. He drove to Tennessee to let Scotty film his car, oh and by the way he doesn’t live alone, he lives with 5 cats.
If you want the best luxury car of all time, you've gotta go track down and buy a G50 (Gen 2) Toyota Century. JDM, hand-built, can go 250k+ miles and still look and feel like new, power everything, real wood and fine wool seats on the interior and they're known to not die. Pretty much ever. Oh--and it has the only production Japanese V12, which can function with half the engine not even working.
Put turbos because it can break down and unless you're a macanic you have to find someone who can repair it or you have to take it back to the dealer rip off 😮😢
LOVE my 2011 RX 350! I went car shopping a few months ago and tried all kinds of REALLY nice cars, but every time I got back in mine, I liked it better! Didn’t even bother to try the new RX with the four-cylinder and the god-awful ugly grill in the front! What the hell were they thinking?
One with a Ford engine. If that's not an option, get one with a Peugeot engine. Both brands made way better engines than the Jaguar Ingenium engines (or 3.0 V6 diesel).
Even if you don't need it buy it! Picked up a 2010 with 179,000 mi $8500 out the door. Runs exactly like it did when it was new, immaculate! Leather seats are not torn they can be easily restored but I just got some $100 seat covers. Definitely the best luxury vehicle ever made.
My wife and I looked at a used Lexus RX300. It had 98k miles on it and was asking $38k at a dealership. We purchased a brand new Mazda CX5 for thousands less. No way is even a Lexus worth these ridiculous prices.
Toyota 4 cylinder turbo is good as well not as bad as scott talking its drive well more than enough power and good gas mileage and so far very reliable on the new rx350
Scotty - 2012 Lexus SUV rx350, - 3.5L V6 230k mi, got at 120k, TX. Mfgr Canada. Push button start. motorized headlites meh. V6 good. 23 mpg hwy. Electronic trans are good. Can tow. Essentially perfect engine scan, wheel bearings good, leather, steering wheel, shifts smooth, Eco mode, Engine full beauty cover 2-3 pieces, CODES - ECM - STARTABILITY FUNCTION ISSUES - ALL KEYLESS START FOBS W AGE IF BATTERIES LOW, OR LIL TOO COLD, GET THIS - MEANS NADA... AWD - Never seen one break on Toya, Hondas can break.
I had a 2010 RX 350. Best car I ever owned. A few years later, Lexus IMHO put a cow catcher on the front and ruined the design. Then, they took out the V6. I'm done with them.
I agree, around that time, my wife and I have 2013's, we won't be getting anything newer, with electronic parking brake etc. I can repair and maintain what we have myself, anything newer would be a pain.

My brother has a Lexus SUV and he loves it. Very high quality inside and out. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to this brand.
I love that 3.5 liter V6 my mom's Avalon has 400k miles on it still kicking strong
NICE! What year is her Avalon?
@@yahboimavvy7771 best engine ever made

Bought a 2022 RX350, last year of the 6 cyl. Love it!
Smart man!
Great choice !!
We did the same! Scotty convinced me to never buy a turbo vehicle so the wife has a 22 RX350L with the V6.
I have a 2015 350 RX that I bought last year because my 2011 450 RX was totaled by the insurance company because mice ate through my wire harness
By the way I absolutely love this 2015 RX 350 better than my 450 H because it drives so much nicer

I want that turbo 4 in a 2 door compact not in a damn truck.
My GX460, 2013 makes 24 mpg and it looks good. It is before they made it ugly looking. It reminds me a an alien from predator movies now :)

I've got 350,000 on my 05 GMC Envoy and still runs great
Man U r lucky….u may be the only one…
Toyota 4 cylinder turbo is good as well not as bad as scott talking its drive well more than enough power and good gas mileage and so far very reliable on the new rx350
A turbo is just one more thing that breaks
Love your videos. Can't beat education with a HEAVY dose of enjoyable entertainment!!
The 1990-1999 Lexus LS400 may just be the absolute BEST OVERALL VEHICLE EVER MADE IN AUTOMOBILE HISTORY.
I just bought mine, same color, same year, 90k! Everything works perfect
It's a bought time you buy yourself a car. Funny, the Matrix is yours wife except when you talk about Canada 🤣😂.
Scotty - 2012 Lexus SUV rx350, - 3.5L V6 230k mi, got at 120k, TX. Mfgr Canada. Push button start. motorized headlites meh. V6 good. 23 mpg hwy. Electronic trans are good. Can tow.

CODES - ECM - STARTABILITY FUNCTION ISSUES - ALL KEYLESS START FOBS W AGE IF BATTERIES LOW, OR LIL TOO COLD, GET THIS - MEANS NADA...
AWD - Never seen one break on Toya, Hondas can break.
these car makers have never heard “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. I wish Toyota would bring back the old small pickups with the r22 engines.
And the solid front axle. Tough little trucks!
Blame the government & the EPA.
I had a 2010 RX 350. Best car I ever owned. A few years later, Lexus IMHO put a cow catcher on the front and ruined the design. Then, they took out the V6. I'm done with them.
I had a 2012 IS 350c. 3.5, 6 cylinder, 305hp, 289lbs of torque. One of the best cars I have owned.
"I'm sitting in the best luxury vehicle ever made,...a '94 Celica"
Hold up… A lot of your videos you said you’re buying one of the cars… At that rate you probably got 500 used cars
Just sold my 2004 Lexus RX330 $3700
Scottie must have 350 cars.
2012 was the last year great cars were manufactured.
2001
1922
I agree, around that time, my wife and I have 2013's, we won't be getting anything newer, with electronic parking brake etc. I can repair and maintain what we have myself, anything newer would be a pain.
2014….because I own a 2014 Camaro😂
Idk about that. My 23 GR Corolla Circuit and 18 Tundra both say otherwise.
Turbo?!! 🤯👎. Why? Bring back the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder!
I'VE NEVER SEEN A MECHANIC LOVE HIS JOB MORE THAN YOU SCOTTY.
I have one 2004 rx330 250,000 miles runs great only thing it's needed was drive shaft u jionts.
I thought it was going to be about the Tacoma.
I have an 08 LS460 with 278k miles and runs like new. I love it!
I like my 6.2 liter v8 Chevy Camaro 2SS. I like to race Teslas here in California
I just bought one with 130k miles for my wife. Absolutely love this vehicle
Scotty is the owner of at least 3000 makes and models
