Waldo - sub for life here. Just looking out for you - do us all a favor and start thinking FIFO - first in, first out. Love the videos and the content. BUT, don't add more projeccts without completing the project in front of you first. These projects are going to end up owning you.
It's nice to watch content from someone who clearly has money. No begging for "donations" via patreon, no nagging for clicks, likes, subs etc, no affiliate links I have to be guilted into clicking on. What a pleasant change.
You saw his house in the background, right? All of Waldo's money goes into the purchase of a project for the next RUclips video. Everything else suffers.
Waldo, I just wish that you would put out more videos, now I just can't wait for you to get into this repair as I have learned so much from the things you do, come back soon.
That’s a nice car hauling trailer. I’d cut the tool box studs down to a nub and place a tire valve cap over the remainder so they don’t tear up your straps with bouncing around. You can silicone them on so they stay also. Love seeing your fleet. Hope Aspen is well!!
LOL, I forgot I mean to mention the haircut's which is a continuity thing, and being involved in film and TV. I noticed it. made me laugh, but he mentioned hydralic excavator and all the blood...um, I lost train of thought because HEX is my favorite heavy machinery.
A few years ago I was shopping for a car hauler, one in particular had 2 stickers on it. 1 said "Built the American way", the other said "Made in Mexico".
0:53 it's so cool to see you driving on roads I'm familiar with. I just drove this exit yesterday on my way from BDL airport to West Hartford: Exit 32A for I-84 West toward Waterbury off Southbound I-91. I was in my own aging full size European sedan that I maintain myself: a 2014 Audi A8 with the 4.0 twin turbo engine. Makes me think "Where's Waldo? Waldo was here!!" Love your videos!!
4:25 it’s nice to see other operators who take things slow and smooth. So often do people try and rush me when operating forklifts and stuff, it’s like sure I could go faster but then I’m at risk of fucking up or dropping something, and I promise it will be faster if I just take my time and don’t do that.
I just found Waldo last night and have been binge watching all day while this hurricane has me out of work today!! I really can’t wait until the gooseneck build and the auto start on the army 10k generator are finished. Waldo is the polymath that I aspire to become
9:48 As someone who works at a trailer manufacturer, you'd be hard pressed to find a trailer without bad welds all over. It's not because inexperience in welding, it's because either they have to keep up with a quota or because they're not paid enough to care.
When will you show how to do the maintenance on the Maserati, I have the same one I will definitely watch you in order to get mine done myself as well 😅
You must have one HELL of a cool significant other, because my old lady would go insane looking at all those autos outside... Good thing I hide all my stuff in the barn, I have to be sneaky about it some times.... 😏 Thanks for the video, glad you're doing well.
Great combo... I've got the same trailer but a 2009 2500HD GMC Duramax, also have a 16 foot open and 24 x 8 ft enclosed. The 20ft is so much more of a unit to pull on the road, so much smoother, just remember to take your corners wide to keep the right side out of the ditch, but if you've pulled a gooseneck you know the drill.
That generation of Mercedes e class - notoriously bad for sunroom drain blockages leaking into the cab. Rear drains soak the rear passenger footwell, the forward drains soak the carpet against the firewall and driver/passenger well. I’d start there.
Love your videos and your life style! Looking forward to many more awesome adventures and videos. I grew up with non stop projects and just don’t have the youth or energy of my younger self. But love to see someone getting things done. Enjoy your intellect and problem solving. Thanks for sharing!
A new Waldo Video ! That was a great trip you filmed. New England is nice this time of year. Your home is full, no more cars :) Looks like you have some work to do, the guys are about to bust for you to complete the gooseneck. Where's the gold ring? Hope you are still happily married. Have a great week. Greg from NC.
Always a good time when you pick up a trailer on the way. I live in Wisconsin and found that comparable trailers were about $1000 extra here, as opposed to, say, Alabama where I had to do some training. It’s not cost effective to just go there and pick it up and then drive it back, as you alluded. So I left Wisco with a motorcycle on a mc trailer to pick up a Big Tex in Birmingham, Alabama. I unloaded the bike and put both on the 20’ car hauler I got, and finished off the trip! Good stuff.
I work next to a trailer manufacturing factory. Take a walk at lunch on a breezy day, they have the doors to the factory wide open. Big gust of wind, can see the welding arcs dance and hear the sound of the arc change as the shielding gas gets blown away. They all just kept on welding. I decided to build my own trailer in that instant.
When I was trailer shopping last year I also originally wanted a 10k capacity and 102in deck for my wide tire vehicles but couldn't find any for less than $10000. So I settled for a 10k 22ft Rice trailer which was significantly cheaper and had a nice built in tongue toolbox. You may find that your trailer is a bit short at 20ft, I can just fit a full crew cab long box on mine. 10k capacity is nice as most vehicles are under 7000lbs. Anyhow, still looking forward to more gooseneck build videos, I need some motivation on my 5th wheel camper to log trailer project.
Finally more videos!! You know your job is to entertain and educate us!! LOL Glad to see you back, can't wait to see more videos from you. I really enjoy watching your content.
And he is hoping at least 2 of them run...or at least one for the spouse who must be a saint to allow all those projects to be all over the yard! I'd be like honey, clean it up or I'm going to start selling your stuff pumpkin...LMAO
Would love a car hauler build series. Regarding your tool box placement. You may way to move it forward. I only say that because there will be times when you have a car that comes over the front bar, and it will block your access to the tools box. I did this on mine and found I would always need to get into the box to grab something like a wheel block or a small 1" strap to keep the hood down ect.
Look under the floor mat in the driver's foot well, there are 2 canbus connectors that can get water in them and connect all the high and low speed busses together. They're cheap and easy if corroded
Waldo!!!... the Appalachian mountains run clear up to Nova Scotia Canada. The Adirondacks, Catskills, Berkshires and the Green Mountain ranges are all minor ranges in the mighty Appalachian chain. Tisk Tisk.
New trailer is understandable. Once you get one that cant to a certain job efficiently that a trailer made to do what you need like the car hauler you will end up with multiple trailers, plus you have the space. Ok after the end of the video, that car hauler can be very versatile
Hi Waldo I put a receiver my car hauler trailer and an Anderson plug on the back of my truck to interface with a winch in a cradle that I can use to recover vehicles in case they breakdown and need to be recovered like your Mercedes or if I need to pick up a vehicle I purchased. I can remove it when not needed. Also it would be great if you could get yourself a large shop built . I'm starting on 40X40 metal garage now to compliment my existing shop. ( you can never have to much covered space at least what I tell the wife). Of course I don't have to worry about snow loads in Georgia like you do. Please keep the videos coming and thanks for the update on your projects.
I think you need a cameraman, a new workshop and a helper for everything you have to do. I love your videos, thank you. Greetings from a Portuguese living in England.

Sometimes an immediate need outweighs the desire to do everything yourself. Quality used trailers keep a pretty good resale value so you will probably make out fine if you do decide to sell this one in the future. It's a good-looking trailer in spite of a few somewhat sloppy welds. Structurally though, it looks solid.

For the toolbox instead of using silicon calk I'd recommend using automotive butyl. It's a sealant, never hardens, is easier to work with on stuff like that and is neater to use. It's used extensively in the automotive industry as a sealant. Either use rope or the aluminum backed pads both work great. As for the welds I'd say some welds were done via programed welders and the others were hand done...maybe rework. I'd find it hard to believe for a trailer company to do all the welds manually.
Where I live we get hurricanes regularly. Sometimes insurance companies will total and flood damage a car that only saw water up to the brakes. I've known people to buy them back at a price well under value, replace the brakes, and have a cheap car that will last them for years to come.
Welcome back. I've also been looking into equipment trailers, was thinking a 24ft with the fat wide flip down ramps and dovetail. Kinda like the ramp design on your choice though.
