Hi Neer. Assuming a general category you can get in in old IITs very easily. Counselling rounds are still going on, so wont be able to say for sure which one. Also, regarding CSE vs DA. It’s more of a question of what is your interest. If you are sure that you would not want to explore CSE systems subjects like DBMS, OS etc and theory like approximation algos etc and you want to only do Data science, I would suggest prepare for DA only. If you are not so sure, CSE. But keep one over the other if preparing for both.

It’s good to compare the future scope of both the colleges. Maybe talk to seniors of both the courses. But in general a government college is better than tier 3 college. But not every tier 3 college is bad. Sometimes placements of tier 3 are better than govt colleges. So compare that & decide.
Hey, I think you can give GATE. There is no issue in that. If you are outside india, there might be Centres in your country (you will have check) or else if you are in India you can normally give the exam, like others. I will suggest you mail the gate committee & enquire.

It's an institute dependent decision. IITB has a MS Research in ML which is also a very good program. Some old IITs and IISc have MTech in AI which are of similar calibre.

Hi Kamal. Please check the list of colleges for DA score acceptance in the description of this video. The basic eligibility criteria is also written there. As far as I can see, you should be in final year of MSc of a relevant field (which will usually means science). As every college will have its own criteria its better to check with them only. You can find the contact information of institutes on their website. Its better to start preparing once you are sure of the eligibility criteria.

What you guys currently don't understand is, making a new department, hiring faculty, allocating seats and budget is not a simple task for any institution. These depend completely on the institutions and they can do as they please and as they think is right. We raised the issue regarding GATE DA score not being accepted in any branch in many of the colleges and that got rectified. How an institute want to take admit via that score is totally upto them. Same is with MSc as an eligibility. As this is a Masters in Technology, it is only natural for an institute to bar at Bachelors in Technology based on their curriculum. BSc + MSc is not equal to a BTech according to some institutes and its their decision. Can't help really. If there are enough students and they collectively write to these institutes and can prove that Bsc+ MSc curriculum is equivalent to BTech one, they might be able to change. But again, will totally depend on the institute and whether they think it is actually equivalent or not.

Hi. IIT Gandhinagar did accept GATE DA, it was in the list during application though there was no brochure on website.
