  • Newfoundland moose hunt in September 2022 with Efford’s Hunting Adventures. This is my first video edit so it’s a bit rough but hope some of the info I discuss helps anyone going on a hunt to the Rock. I’ll provide more videos on gear, the travel process and some tips for anyone going on a future hunt.
Efford’s was a great outfitter and the guides I had were remarkable!

I was happy. I saw a few younger and maybe with more points but my bull being so old made it a great hunt and trophy.

Thank you Sir! Was my first ever video so hope they get a little better each time. I learned a lot on this hunt and earned a life long friendship with my guide. Aren’t too many guides willing to swim across a raging river to quarter a moose in the pouring rain! Glad you liked it and will be another one in 2024!

I was sitting in the hotel wondering how the guys in the bush were doing. Glad to see you were successful despite the storm. I’m expecting my meat and horns to come in this week! Matt

i appreciate that you just loce the interaction with the animals not just the kill. those are the things that make the hunt most enjoyable. I had no license this year but I still love to get out and call out moose and interact with them. The rut is the most excifing time of year for any moose hunter.

I could have spent the week just watching moose do their thing and been happy with that. Good luck next year!

Thanks for sharing this sir! Just curious, of those three shots, where did they impact? Curious about shot placement and the effectiveness of the .300 Win Mag on such a massive animal.

All of them hit in the lungs. Ironically we found the bullets on the far side perfect mushrooms but seemed to put smaller holes in. No exit channels. It’s just a tough animal sometimes.

Great video and congrats on an old bull. I leave Thursday to hunt with Effords as well. Are you wearing the Kutana rain gear? That’s what I’m bringing so I’m hoping it’s good stuff.

You didn't name your guides or show them ! We were there 6 years ago, 2016. The old man Bob (guide) over 40yrs guiding. Age 80+ ! Otherguide Chris. Could be same one that started with us. Different camp then us. I was wondering. Nice moose. Partner got bear, I got moose with flintlock.

I mentioned Tristan who was my guide. He and the other guides Dylan and Zach along with our cook Ivan were fantastic! Moose with a Flintlock 😮 That is awesome!

@@upperlittleriveroutdoors701 I have an ear infection so a little hard to hear. All in all it was good, minus a couple things. The helo moose pickup would be great we packed it all and I carried the whole hide !
