I'm currently wrapping up my 4th run in the 15 gallon bags that were part of the complete build a soil kit i got last year. Still in the same soil. I have done numerous chop and drops on each grow. Worms are thriving. On this my 4th run I have been using the Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 for bloom along with boosters of your flower nutrient mix. Also using the Alfalfa ferment with the molasses and the buds are bigger and more plentiful than ever.
I want to see you guys do an outdoor grow! It would be epic!

Even with a ten gallon pot I had to topdress before flip, week one or two of flower and then again weekly after that to keep the plants happy. I just started using 30gallons and it’s been a game changer.

@@sexprof1 it does. Goodness man that sounds like space for over 10 huge trees. Cant understand it. My 30 L. Pots are growing monsters. Anything bigger and u cant move them anymore at all. Some pople need plants to be mobile. A 30 gallon container for 1 plant? Seems like a HUGE waste of soil, space, money and effort.
Will a 15 gallon pot be enough to take a plant from seed to harvest with 6 week veg ?
Short answer to these questions:
Yes you can overdo it on fulvic but not humic/humates.
Fulvic when overused will cause twisting and contorting of new growth which will be noticeable. When it comes to stretching it’s part genetics and part environmental parameters: If you can keep your night time temps close to your day temperatures you can inhibit stretch to some degree.

I use a wine fridge and it keeps around 58 Fahrenheit in the fridge, but only around 35-40% RH. Like Jeremy said though, keep the RH right in the jar and it works great! HOWEVER: if it gets a bit cooler than ambient room temp, and if the room has high humidity, let the jar warm up before opening or you can risk condensation getting into the jars and onto the buds!!! That would be a shame!

Thanks for the videos, I've learned so much from them. Just got to harvest my first grow and following your methods I couldn't be happier. One plant provided just short of a half pound of buds, not to mention all the other trim that will be great for other items! Can't wait for the next one. The last two grow series have been monumental in my success of no-till growing. Before I was using organic nutrients and flowering in 5 gallon pots with decent results but throwing 20 gallons of soil out every round didn't seem right. I'm now on my third run in 2 65 gallon living soil beds. Hands down the easiest way to grow awesome quality cannabis. I can't get your products because I am in Canada, but the vids help understand what the golas are with soil health and how to get there. Please ship to Canada!

I have only used 5 gallon pots, I make ferments to feed, do top dressing with a alfalfa meal, gypsum, green sand and rock dust mix, microbe feeds in a 4x8 tent. All veganic.
Your comments on systems and process that you have been building in order to sustain healthy and prosperous growth is the exact thing I’m working on in our shops. It’s so hard to implement the systems we need when you constantly fight ownership every step of the way. It’s refreshing to see a leader doing this.
I DRY AND CURE IN A WINE FRIDGE AND IT WORKS WONDERS. I live in a pretty hot apartment all year, so I need to. Mine goes from 8-18 degrees celsius, and with a plant in there, I can get it to stay between 60-62%RH when the temp is between 8-12 degrees celsius. I usually start it off at 8 degrees to balance the RH because I budwash, but as the RH goes down, I'll adjust the temp accordingly. Drying takes 2-3 weeks depending on whole plant hang or single branch hanging, and bud density. Once everything is dried, trimmed and jarred, I cure and leave for long term storage at 16 degrees celsius. Honestly, my fav piece of weed gear is my Koolatron wine fridge! Terpy buds!

Just discovered your channel. Great information. After 50 years, just started growing again this May. Using 7 gallon grow bags and a mix of organic potting and raised bed soil fortified with 1/4 cup of organic bone meal and Espoma Plant Tone 5-3-3 slow release organic fertilizer. I mix in 3 tablespoons of white vinegar per 1 gallon of my well water to adjust the PH from 7.2 to 6.8. I activate my soil with 3 tablespoons of organic llhydrolyzed fish emulsion and 1 tablespoon non sulfur molasses per gallon of water 2 weeks prior to planting. I then continue to use the fish emulsion up to the start of flowering. I then switch over to ground banana peels dissolved in water once a week. 2 weeks prior to harvest I flush with plain water. I have had decent results. I grow outdoors on my balcony with only 6 to 7 hours of direct sunlight and use autoflowers. What do you think? Any suggestions?
I appreciate the growing in small pots discussion because some folks like me who live in apartments just don't have the space to accommodate a large 15-30 gal pot. The biggest pot I can use is 7 gal, so I will be re-amending along the way and using the Eden veg and flower water soluble nutes.

I have been doing no till in two different 5gals for just bout eight cycles each now. I top dress castings and compost and do teas. But the plants that come out of those 5gals are better than anything else in my grow at the moment. I leave it up to the worms to grow the good weed.
I’m a new grower and had not great luck with 5-10 gallon pots. Now I am growing in 50 gallon totes and it’s way better.

So today I found bud rot. Just like you did this season with the auto in the 4x4. Mine is in another tent with three more plants. Chopped her to save the grow. Checked with a magnifying glass on the other three. So far no signs of bud rot. Ramped up air circulation and added a dehumidifier to help. A great FAQ to help when stuff starts to fail because I am biting my nails.

Considering the amount of growers getting into living soil for the first time, (like myself) this is really great information, and very informative answers to the great questions. I look forward to these FAQ's. I've had great success so far with the build a soil way. ONE QUESTION I HAVE IS, if using only craft blend to reammend the take n bake, how much craft blend do I use? I have been using a wine fridge for sometime. I find it works really well. Most cool into the 45 degree area.
For the wine fridge, (it works I have one) look at bento boxes / square containers instead of jars. Also look for flat shelves instead of the bottle-racks. I keep mine at 60F and have some over a year old that is stellar. Some ages better than others, but constant temp matters.
I also have a cigar humidor fridge that I use for the seedbank. Better option than a wine fridge but I thought of it after I bought the first ;)
Lots of fluctuation in a regular fridge because of constant opening/closing.
i totally agree on the pot size. i started with 5gal then went to 10 and finally found 15gal was the right size for the size of plants I grow. any smaller you will see it get root bound and dry out faster near the end. i dont bother to reuse soil. i toss it in the gardens in my back yard. it isnt worth my effort, best to start fresh each time when pot growing.
I do wine fridge dry for weed. I’m able to maintain it at a proper RH and temp for 14 days. Best weed ever.

Just my input. Been running no till for about a year now with autos and 3 gallon pots. Just top dressing with dry amendments and castings at the start of grow and about a month in then they're on autopilot. I don't even PH my 8.5 water and used it straight out the tap for a while (I use air stones in a bucket now to oxygenate the water). Happy growing!
I've been using a wine fridge for a few months now to dry my herb since I don't have a stable environment. With a fan blowing on an inkbird, I can keep the fridge at 62% humidity and 55F temps. I'm drying my second batch (3 plants in 7gal pots) in the wine fridge right now. Chopped and hanging! Cheers!

wine fridges are frequently used for cigars. There are companies that make kits to put spanish cedar shelves in to use them as huidors. wine fridges dont use the same cooling method as fridges, so they dont dry out the air the same way. combine with some sort of humidity control like boveda packs and you can have a good enviroment.
That's cool, the ac unit with a humidifier is what I have for the first time and the ac keeps it at about 65 to 69 and the humidity fluctuates from 55 to 65 % depending on the day. It won't stay at 60 dammit
I’ve started using high humic content in my waterings and have seen nothing but good results.
One of your better faqs
If growing in a huge storage tub, have you thought about isopods, springtails and say mealworms? My bioactive reptile tanks have lovely growth. I feed the bugs well and grow leafy greens for my bearded dragons and the clean up crew gets lots. Well fed, they only eat the dead matter that drop to the substrate.
Ive maintained quality for over 2 years by keeping the well dried and cured flower in a fridge….. I highly recommend it.
New grower, want to make the switch to true living soil. For a larger container like a 20 gallon how many medicinal plants would you plant per bed? Trying to keep a perpetual cycle, how important are cover crops for keeping the soil life thriving? Can cover crops replace or supplement the need for top dressing? Love your content learning a ton.

Jeremy, you should try grove bags instead of your jars, it will save alot of space to allow for even more flower.

Season 4 should be 2 quadrants indica and 2 quadrants sativa, to highlight the timing of the different stages of flower between the two. That would be awesome. You would need a 8 week indica and a 12 week sativa. Just incase 8 turns 9 or 10weeks and you could adjust veg time so you don't undergrow indica or overgrow sativa.
Then you can dry and enjoy the indica while the sativa still ripens for your headiest stash!!
im growing in a 1 gallon pot 12/12 from seed and they are doing great!! about 3 weeks til they are done and straight gas

Season 3, phenomenal, cant wait for season 4. Please, please, please do the indoor veggies. I grew tomatoes the BAS way outside this year and they were the best I ever ate, I cannot go back to grocery store tomatoes. I'm in 100%. I bought a bunch of stuff during the summersale and cannot wait to start my first BAS grow soon as the weather cools down.

If you know what you are doing you can do it, I had & have 5 gallon notill pots with no issues. You have to be on top of things for sure though. Easy to go wrong, it’s been a journey & lots of learning due to running the 5’s. I been using 10’s & up for the most part now. I only kept two 5’s gallon pots with plenty of cycles ran through them. I do no till in one gallons pots as well. Way harder to keep it going for sure but it’s possible 😎♻️
Would 15 gallon be big enough to take my plants from seed to harvest with a 6 week veg ?
No till works better in plastic containers, from my experience, especially in a smaller container. You can also put a 5 gal fabric pot in a plastic trash bag and that will keep the moisture in the fabric and encourage the roots downward if you bottom feed by pouring into the bag and letting it soak into the fabric pot at the bottom.
They're way beyond that, brah.

So, for next season I have an idea/request. Grassroots has recently come out with a 1 gallon bottomless pot that you place on top of a bed once the roots have established. I’m about to flip my first run using them but am struggling to find any content about the how to of using them. Is there a chance that next season you can run a bed using these bottomless pots?

Humic acids and fulvic acids provide a number of physical, chemical, and biological benefits to plants and soil. These include increased plant nutrient uptake, increased root growth, and improved soil structure. Yes you do need humic acid for cation exchange it increases it of course you can do without it you can do without a lot of products I mean damn the plants grow on just water great video good detail
Am I correct in inferring that, in a 5 gallon it’s less desirable to “no till” and just top dress/compost tea vs “re-amend” with additional inputs that have now been depleted from the last grow?
Top dressing is really easy . You can definitely do living soil in pots. No till doesn't really make sense in containers to me.
I was rushing and accidentally put 100x times the amount of humic acid (raw powder/chunks) in a soil mix and didn't give it any time to settle/cook/whatever. It locked out nutrients (Fe 2+ & Ca 2+ I'm pretty sure) and my clones were sorta burning and failed to grow for 1-2weeks. Dunno if that's helpful.
I've binged so many episodes of Build-a-Soil in the last week that I've had to watch this one on my phone, in my garden, hiding from my wife so she doesn't tease me any further about my man crush on Jeremy! 😄
Your grows are some of the best no till...and you constantly use research tools to improve on it. They're not the best grows I've seen, but you'll get there. Shame you don't ship to Canada.

I'm on day 8 and now that half my moisture has left, I am dropping temperature and humidity for the remaining 4-5 days. I don't do this before 8 days due to risk of mold. To much water inside the buds in the beginning.

Im about to get a 5x5 tent and start using 5gal pots for 6 plants. Ive been watching the vids but still not sure what i need as for soil and soil amending after my run. From what im getting to start i need 3.0 recipe and craft blend with tea feedings. Can anyone let me know if im off?
Sorry to re hash the question again kinda .. I have a 4x4 and a plant count of 4 I can’t fit 4 30g fabric pots in a 4x4 tent would it be better to have a 3x3 bed in the middle and run 4 plants in the same soil or 4 x 7g tall fabric pots so I can fit 4 individual plants in there own pot Or I’ve been looking into earth boxes but can’t fit 4 in there either would 2 running 2 plants each be better trying to do organic in small containers is hard lol if anyone has any input would be much appreciated
i just ran 2 earthboxes in a 4x4 with 2 plants each worked very well, ive been thinking of getting a 3x3 bed myself i like the idea of having much more soil i believe 3 earthboxes will fit in a 4x4 also if you go that route but 2 does do the job
@@johng8290 good yield and quality then ? I really do like the way the earth boxes work think I’ll grab 2 and give it a shot 3 makes plant count weird here and as long as I can fill the space and have power left for flower time I’ll be super happy
@@trevorgreen5650 yeah great yield and quality i flipped to flower around 3-4 weeks after transplanting into the earthboxes from my cloner i wish i would have gone another week or so longer b4 flip to really crush it
