  • In celebration of National Social Work Month, Morgan State University’s School of Social Work held a panel discussion regarding the enduring legacy of social work in urban communities featuring two of Morgan’s 1947 Alumna, Drs. Ruth Sheffey and Mary Page.
    Dr. Ruth T. Sheffey, a distinguished scholar in literature and the second longest-serving faculty member at Morgan State University, has aimed her generosity towards social work students, and her partnership with her late husband, Vernon R. Sheffey, a renowned social worker, exemplified the spirit of social work. Dr. Mary Page, a trailblazer in social work and University of Pittsburgh, School of Social Work emeritus professor, forged a remarkable career at the intersection of social change and community empowerment.
