RIP Seregei Smirnov, he is one of the great characters on this series.

Ppl be annoyed with Graham but at least he was perfectly reasonable
He admired Gundam and its technology
Then it proceeded to take his comrades lives one after another and despite being hailed as an ace, he felt meaningless that everytime he couldn't avenge them and that he was a failed leader who couldn't keep his men lives.
He was someone who has honor but tarnished and from his superior who studies Bushido, he learnt and seek repentance for his sins, irony of him being very Christian like.
Meanwhile Andrei is an "adult" that never really was an adult, just a child still in trauma.
I really adore this scene, this scene show they are same people who want peace and don't want to lost others life and fighting each other.
The ost when they are all working together. It just screams teamwork

그 사건 때 스밀노프가 시민 대신 아내를 선택하는 거야말로 생명을 외면하는 선택이라는 걸 알까.
안드레이가 좀 더 성숙했다면, 아내를 잃는 아픔과 아들에게 상처를 줄 리스크를 떠안고 다수의 시민을 선택하는 아버지의 심정을 이해할 수 있지 않았을까.
그리고는 당신도 힘들었겠다며, 누구도 위로하지 못한 아버지의 상처를 아들로서 위로해 줄 수 있지 않았을까.
Setsuna is good at most types of combat, but is the best with melee. Thus, 0-Raider enabled him with a miles-long beam saber to eliminate enemies with.
And the 00-Quanta made it 10x more powerful
What A-Laws does is so relatable to our world - some rulers are perfectly willing to go to any length, going as far as to masaccre civilians regardless of the number, all for the sake of consolidating their power.
I've noticed that this whole time - the writing in this show kinda terrifies me with how accurately it portrays what some of our governments around the world would actually do, and probably do actually do under a perfectly crafted cover of media censorship.
This is why among Gundam Series this is the best imo, 00 series is relatable to Real Life.
Science Fiction and Realism merged into one series.
It kind of falls flat by the fact that A-Laws are all just a set up for one guy who thinks he's above humanity who wants to subjucate them because of perceived superiority. That kind of of set up in impossible without someone like Ribbons with superhuman intelligence and a link to a quantum computer pulling everyone's strings.

I love of things in this episode, mainly the Trans Am Raiser and everyone working together to protect the civillians.
This is one of my top favourite episodes.

“You killed all for the sake of your precious orders!” didn’t Sergei’s son do the same though? While I hate the trope of following the steps of your father, I can appreciate it here; the boy effectively did the same thing as his father, but had a much more direct role.

Louise should also have some legal ramifications for funding those assholes and joining their ranks. Her battle records would put her in places where civilians and slaves were killed as an active MS-pilot. Her bank accounts should be frozen and funds forfeited to assist those that were affect the most by the A-laws. They probably over looked it all due to her influence or unwillingness to look through the records of everyone affiliated with that organization. She should be broke and too mentally fucked up to cause any more problems post S2 and the movie.

i`m not a fan of this series but this ep is the most memorable for me because of how friends and enemies work together to protect the civilians god i wish this is happening on ukarine now
You know guys despite the advancement of weapons and mobile suit. These guys still failed to put an ejection system into their mobile suit.
That's been added later post S2. You do see them on Innovade use MS and Ali's Arche Gundam. What would stop anyone from shooting the safety gear? It just makes people want to aim directly at cockpits even more.

It is common sense to aim for the cockpit.
You call it as advanced? Letting your enemy know where you are is a bull thinking. There is a better method and only advanced mobile suits have them. Ejection system is just saying- "I'm here, come get me."
There's no technical advantage in mobile suits taking the human form in the first place. All this is just to look cool.

하필 또 지구연방군 테마라서 더 웅장해짐+
하이라이트 부분에서 연방군 전함 일제사격
다시봐도 가슴이 웅장해진다
안드레이 지 아버지 죽여놓고 이후에 한 번도 죄책감 같은 거 가지는 장면 자체가 없다가 엔딩 때 슥 나와서 시민 지키네 어쩌네 세탁하고 끝내는 게 제일 얼척없음..
웃긴건 스밀노프도 상층부랑 어로우즈 명령받아서 밀사로 간건데 그런 거 상관없이 그냥 죽이고 싶어서 죽인게 팩트인듯
능력도 딸려서 지 아빠 친구한테 힘빌려서 군대 겨우 들어와놓고 한다는 짓이 쯧..
루이스한테 치근덕대는 것도 그렇고 너무 비호감으로 만듦 ㅋㅋ
그래서 더블오의 주제인 대화와 소통이 없었을때 일어나는 비극을 더욱 부각시키는 캐릭터임
대화를 통해 진실을 알 새도 없이 본인 혼자만의 오해로 행동하는 캐릭터네요

00 is not my favorite series but besides the slow beginning and the kill in the end this is my favourite episode from all Gundans.
1:25 Andrei is a momma's boy with a grudge.
And Sergei is a useless father. Unable to teach his son to be a better person than he ever was. Only to watch his son act in a way he would have at his age. He only has himself to blame for moving on to another person his government let down and abused. They let him have Soma because they know how good he is at keeping his mouth shut for them.

It's clear on how Sergei interacted with Soma/Marie that he might have tried to talk things out, but Andrei wouldn't allow it due to being blinded by hatred.

Why did the tower "auto purge" it's exterior? Was this system built into the tower for a reasonable purpose? Aside from a rain of death
To break into smaller pieces in order to burn up in the atmosphere instead of one big chunk crashing down ( i assume)
I would the assume the rain of death wasn't it's intended function. I guess it wasn't designed to withstand being shot by an orbital laser ... powered by itself.
its so that if the elevator takes a catastrophic hit on the outer shell presumably the stress could tear the entire inner-core apart which would then affect the geosync stations above it. And since theirs only 3 anchor points(each station for the 3 major power blocs) one elevator breaking down like that could bring the entire system down. so the autopurge system is so that one small hit doesn't turn into a bigger problem. the issue is that the laser damaged a large area of the exterior and the auto-purge kicked in and in and sent a kill order down as far as it thought the damage would spread regardless of the scale of the collateral damage
So that in the chance that is its destroyed rather than fall entirely to earth in a million mile tall piece and wipe out the planet entirely it breaks up and only causes a few million casualities. Which is bad, but preferable to the whole world being wrecked.
My guess it is not design for cascade failures like this.
Maybe one or two pieces or maybe a whole section, but not the whole thing going down all at once.
