Winter's first swim lesson! It's good you all are taking her early. Travis is right, it's important to keep going, she'll get used to it and dad was right there to comfort her, Torie on the side lines cheering her on. Winter just might be the Olympic swimmer in the family!

I agree. I guarantee if Torrie gets in the water, Winter will adapt quicker. She may be subconsciously picking up on mom's apprehensions. Torrie...gotta show her it's ok. Just think about it, she was nutured and protected during pregnancy in a fluid filled sac that contained water. In mommy's tummy. Her association with water includes Torrie. Break the cycle of fear for her and yourself.

Travis and Tori, the younger the better. Started mines at 7 mos, and yes it's hard at first, but each time got better! Winter will love it the older she gets... 🥰💯👍

I agree Travis each session it’s gonna get easier, don’t let the crying get to ya, and Torie may need to hide. Most all kids cry when they first start, I’m proud of you Travis she will will be swimming b4 you know it!!
💦Winter reacted like many kids do when they first go swimming in a big body of water that's not a bathtub. She'll continue to do well. No worries. My daughter was nearly 2 yrs. old when she first learned to swim. She was fine. She always loved being in the water. She's a Pisces, and they love water. To this day, my daughter still loves swimming and being out in the water. She's 32 now.

I don't have kids, but I was probably 7 when I was put in a summer swim class officially, but I'd been in a lot of pools at friends houses growing up and already knew the basics. Obviously when you're older, the classes are more fun, less scary. We took a swim proficiency test the first day, I passed and they sent me straight to the older kids class in the 15 ft deep end where we played a lot of pool games, had to deep dive to the bottom, and do timed laps back and fourth across the Olympic pool. It was exhausting, but fun. Shout out to my dad who FINALLY learned to swim at his age over the last summer. I was so proud of him. I can't imagine your whole life not being able to swim, but now he loves swimming because the community pool is literally at the end of his block.
Great for you! You are right when you older its less intimidating to you. I wanted to learn how to swim because I love the beach. When I was in middle school,my class mate drowned learning how to swim,he panic from what was told and the other friends couldn't handle him, he was so scared started fighting them, They were in a pond. If only one of them was strong enough to knock him out. Maybe he would have been saved. I hated that he was my dance date at the school dance. I suggest you wait until Winter is older.

@@barbaramickle9894 for just the sad reason you spoke about, is the reason for kids to take swim lessons earlier than later and always with an adult who can teach/supervise. All of my friends with kids have had their kids in swim class before age 5.

First times can be hard. I had my boys in pools at 3mo and 9mo. The earlier the better probably. Go to a splash park or a public pool with a “baby pool” so she can have more control. Maybe get a small pool in your backyard. Anything that is shallow Torie can go too.💕

You should know why a lot of blacks don't swim. They were not allowed in public pools or beaches. Know your history.

I was 8 when Swimming lessons were apart of my life! I lived in a state where summers were short. Now, I am a certified diver to combat all water fears!!! Keep at it, we buy pools according to age & size for our grands they love the progression every year in the back yard!!!!

I started swimming at 3 years, and my sister at 8months. My dad is a really good swimmer so he taught us early. We did a lot of sports with him. Tennis and squash as well. That was our bonding time every weekend

I like the way Winter, remember her experience last year at the beach when her father put her feet in the water and immediately she started crying. It scared her. The water was probably cold and over whelming to her.Good idea to get her kiddy pool. She loved her private space. 😄💕

Winter will get use to swimming as times goes by, maybe start doing at home in your pool now and then. Winter will be my shining star all the time every time. Prayers up for you all daily peace out until the next vlog rollout.
She will get better with time. My daughter was about 8 months old when she started swimming and she is 30 now. Never any issues and the anxiety will subside as well. Blessings 💓

Torie even upto today I cannot swim and older than you, I was just going to learn then pandemic came so once again been put off. The thing is I love the water and so upset when I go on holidays and can just only sit in it. The best time to start is as young as possible so your doing good. When at school I had a chance to go but when I asked my mum she didn't sign the paper thinking I was going on my own only years later I found out that's why and told her the teacher was taking us. I blame her for that but then I could never find the time with being a single mum, working etc etc. For that reason I made sure my daughter learned at around 6 years with her school.

Haya family! First, experiment slowly by putting her in the tub in her swimsuit starting with her face also considering that Winter is in a totally different environment. Winter would be fine, don't worry too much, Travis, your reaction is normal.

Hi Torie & Travis! Hi Winter👋😀 Cutie pie🥰🤗😘 Awww she doesnt like the water. Aww her crying. I didn't like the water ether when I was small. I started liking the water at like age 4. Now I love the water.. She'll get used to the water one of these days. I didn't learned how to swim fully til I was 11.
