There's no way that a cokehead would accidentally put their stash into a customer's order. This was 100% a drug buy that got mixed up.
The surveillance video shows him frantically looking for something after he made that particular customer's order. Sounds like he accidentally dropped it in her food. It may have fallen out of his shirt pocket.
From my experience the cooks don’t handle the bags that the food goes into, that would be up to the service people working up front, but hey different locations handle everything differently
@Master Shake I've never seen a cook personally hand a order unless they were crazy understaffed, general someone else would bag the food after he finished cooking the meal.
Meh, the reason Hixson,TN no longer has a Steak N Shake, is because a waitress accidently dropped her baggie of a white powder into an on duty CPD officer's drink when she leaned over to refill it. The lawsuit from the cop eliminated the SNS 3rd shift for 6 months, where the store closed at 7pm nightly, and ultimately closed down permanently.

A chef once told me that the majority of chefs did coke in the 80's. Her justification for it was that they work long, hard, and fast hours, up to 60 hours a week. That it helped boost their performance.
The Sonics in our area are few but in highly competitive restaurant markets as well. They do a lot of checks before employment too. But when a workplace has a drug culture in it sometimes the most sober employees get tested more and those involved always seem to have a way around tests too.
This is just standard operating procedure at all fast food restaurants in New Mexico.

Years ago me and my mother along with my aunt went to a local restaurant. I was only 10. After eating I felt really sleepy. My aunt had drove her car to the restaurant. We only lived about a mile away and some time her and my mother would walk to town instead of driving. We all forget about the car and walked home. When we got home no car. At this point we were all out of it. The next day my aunt walked back up town and found the car. They were afraid to say anything to anyone about it. A few weeks later the police raid the place. He was storing cocaine in the freezer and it had gotten on to the meat. He got caught when some people went to the hospital thinking that they had gotten food poisoned. The ER knew right away what it was and did the test. When the test came back positive for cocaine the police were called. After it made the news we understood that we must have gotten a bit of it. Good thing is was a small bit or 10 year old me would have been dead I bet.
