Thanks for taking us along Andy. Always better to be out in the woods than at work. Stay safe and have a great day…

Once I've bumped him, I like to stop and have a sandwich, or a smoke, or whatever. Give it a break for a bit, then get back on the track. follow the running tracks kinda fast, then when he slows back down to a walk, start going slow and keep your head on a swivel. He might be on your 90 , 270, or even your 180 standing watching his backtrack. If he knows something or someone is following him, he'll get frustrated and start hooking trees or shrubs. Thats when he'll start watching his backtrack to see what's behind him. That's just what I do. Good luck and happy new year!

Thanks for the advice and positive feedback! I’m sure it well help fellow sportsman like myself and other viewer’s watching. I should have been more patient but did keep moving mostly due to sunset and legal shooting time coming to an end. Will try to sit for sure next time and take a break. Deer was less than 50 yards from my camp, never mind walking by my stands and bedded down next to one 😂. Seems like every day in the woods we learn something new. Happy new year!!

I remember finding a tree stand on the day after thanxgiving, one more day to go. I climbed up and burped the grunt call once, and it sounded like 3 Mass. hunters coming out of the woods. 10 pt. walked right under my stand and i put a 3" Mag slug right down from above. Full freezer.

Put a wad of dry toilet paper inside your scope caps. Keeps lens dry and clear. Might have to replace it several times a day if it is very damp or raining.

Enjoyed your tracking video, you might consider lowering the height of your camera. Nice tracking snow!

As fast as you were moving and as much noise as you were making, it would have had to have been the stupidest deer in the woods to give you a shot at it!! Seriously, are your deer really that dumb? SR

They are not dumb around here. It was actually very quiet. The go pro I’m using really pics up on close sounds.
