  • I have been wanting to get one of those power packs for a while. The goal is mainly to recharge handheld radios using their regular wall chargers, either 220 or 110V.

    Yes. I really missed the 230V powerbank ad on the Radio Prepper channel. All the others preppers on RUclips were already encouraging people to buy such equipment.

      This is a product review. If I had found it to be bad, I would have said so. That's the difference with an ad.

    I built my own in pieces, it's not as portable or rugged as yours, but it's a very cool thing to have off grid availability whenever needed

      This one is not super rugged..

      @@RadioPrepper that's fair, I think I was comparing it to my system which is just a lipo battery and a AC Converter screwed to the side of a milk crate lmao

    Nice review Gil. Recently purchased a Bluetti power bank, much bigger capacity but not nearly so portable. VG4 still performing superbly😉73s!

    It will be useful to test how much build-in inverter affect the performance of the sensitive transceivers and other HAM equipment when supplied by this power bank.
    Is the ac output sinusoidal?
    Thank you for your excellent educational content.
    Best regards.

      Very good question.. I don't have a scope, but will check if the opportunity arises. I will not use this to power sensitive equipment, just chargers.

    I am wondering about the earth terminals in the 230V plug. Did you check, if there is a proper RCD installed? Ot at least a fuse or current limitation?

    • @leroymay8156
      @leroymay8156 8 месяцев назад

      Because there is an earth conetron pin in the EU socket, I actually see a possible hazard. In theory it could be possible to get an electric shock there. The same principle like an isolation transformer, in which at least from DIN EN here earth terminals are forbidden.

      The links Gil shared to the product pages says "Pure Sine Wave/Onde Sinusoïdale Pure", but a check wouldn't hurt.
