Beautiful and thank you for putting instructions in the comments. This brought back childhood memories of making chains with gum wrappers. We would challenge each other to see who could make the longest chain. Aww growing up in the 50’s and 60’s so different from today.❤
We used to make plastic bracelets at the pool ...you could wear them in the water..it's the same pattern, only the plastic is about the size of a tooth pick..and if you turn the strands on an angle you get a twisted version or a round version..but the big ribbon is very beautiful..I would never have thought of using this old method to make a wreath.
@@ISasaki It prompted me to try and make a bracelet again ..haven't made one for about 50 years..I did okay too..did the round version and wondered what a wreath would look like with that..when you cross the first lace over you just put it on the opposite side that you normally do so it turns the lace a tiny bit each time.and you get a circular pattern instead of the square.
Thank you so much for the lesson! I made this using two 4.5 m lengths of 1 cm wide metallic fabric ribbon. The finished wreath is only 9 cm wide and light enough to hang on a christmas tree. One ribbon is gold on both sides and the other is red on one side and green on the other -- so the wreath has one gold swirl and the other swirl is half red and half green. I think it is beautiful! Thank you again!
So glad you enjoy it, Toshiko. So beautiful colors and the size is perfect for hanging them. So beautiful! Thank you so much🤗I wish you all the best in the world😘
ой , я помню такие ручки )) , у меня самой не было , но у кого-то точно видела ) , это были 80-е годы. Я еще в школе училась ( вроде у кого-то из одноклассников такая была ).
Wow, an incredibly beautiful piece, my dear! I remember making bracelets like that from plastic cord when I was a kid. It was called the 'SQUARE KNOT'. Adding the twist and using two different callers however makes it all the more stunning. Thanks, so much, for sharing!
I was just thinking the same thing, making lanyards at camp as a child...i know about a half a dozen different knots, wonder if they would work with this, its incredible.

I think this twisted wreath is lovely. I don't know how long it took you to develop it but I cannot grasp how to do it. I've watched the video, I'll watch it again but you are some kind of miracle worker. The wreath is lovely.
Hi, Jackie, thank you. Start with 2 different color of strings not too long until understanding the steps. The start point is half the size of the string. One up, one under. Start to bend with the color that you have on the right side 2-the string you have on the downside, :3 -the left side- 4 -the upper string pass it under the first string, the string you start to band-clock moving style-. Turn it, and you start with the under part, in my case gold brown(2 points)- red is upper-2 points. I hope this was helpful and I`m sure you can make it.🤗😍
@@ISasaki oh my goodness, thank you for taking the time for the explanation. I think the items you make are so original and lovely. Thank you again. I subscribed because I enjoy watching you making the items. So very nice
So beautiful. I wish to try this with a smaller cord to make an ornament. The belting looks like it would hold up very well over the years for home decoration. Thank you for sharing!
Does anybody remember doing that exact same thing? But with chewing gum wrappers? We would usually use the double mint, or the spearmint gum wrappers. Come on now.I know I'm not the only old one that remembers the chewing gum chains.
Genial. Hermoso trabajo.
This is so cool ! I've seen these done before but never really paid attention to it, but I like the way you get it in very slow motion and it's very easily to understand how you did it. I might try this later on. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to do this. ❤
Elképesztő... azon gondolkodtam, milyen zseniális elme, aki ezt először elkészítette?! Hogy a fenébe jut eszébe valakinek egy ilyen hajtogatás? Csodás, nagyon tetszik! ❤
Lovely. I also made lanyards and bracelets with the plastic cord as a child. I'm going to try this with gross grain ribbon to make smaller for tree ornaments or hang in windows.
Back in the 60's, my school had a summertime craft time where the key ring was made out of small plastic rope that this method was used.. but not formed into a ring.. just basic straight sticks looking and keys on other end.. cool.
That's a clever-looking Wreath and eye-catching without a doubt, I've never seen anything like it. Great instruction video, step by step taking time to show exactly how you were making it and it turned out so beautifully! Thanks for sharing it with us.
