    I visited and hike Joffre at the beginning of July, drove up and hiked and back home for one day. It was a FUN 12 hour day adventure. The incline was hard, but so worth it. I can’t imagine carrying an overnight pack, food and camera gear. Way to go.

      Ya it’s steep, but thankfully not too long of a hike! Thanks for watching 🥰

    This is inspirational to me. I want to get out to the beautiful parks and camp but animals scare me and born and raised in the city life without a toilet isn't an appealing experience. I've only been glamping

    Video looked great. Good for you getting out there on your own. What a beautiful spot. I'm in Ontario which is great for camping and filming my trips but BC is incredible. You are right about needing more time on trips because of the constant stopping to film , etc. When I started my camping channel it was a big shock at how long things take. Anyways thanks for sharing your adventure.

    Hi Nina. It was nice to see this video. It reminds me of the time when i also camped there for the first time with my wife in 2013.Back then the lower and middle portion of the trail was more wild as it was not filled in with gravel like it is now. We had a camp spot right by the lake. We also hiked up to the terminus of Matier Glacier to check out the impressive seracs. Not recommend to go there tho without someone with glacier travel experience. Thx again. Nice filming and editing skills. 😊

    I just came back from my first ever overnight backpacking trip and I did it solo. I chose a campground close to home but it was a 7 mile hike with a 5,000 ft elevation gain. I ran out of water and didn’t have a water filter lol😅 but thankfully the only other camper there had a water filter and helped me out. Rookie mistake. Other than that it went really well. I’m so sore! Lol

      Start small with little day trip hikes & car camping solo b4 doing an overnighter, but car camp & hike with ur full overnighter load out as if it were ur actual overnighter, so if u get scared, u can always bail & sleep secure in the car & modify ur hike next time. Build ur confidence slowly & correct ur mistakes as u go, building ur hiking system, and then tackle the solo overnighter. Use a checklist & check things off as u put them in ur pack so u won't forget anything.
      The bear nightmares are a real thing here, but if u take the proper precautions with all scented items going in ur bear container, u should be fine. But accidents happen, i would go as far as wearing an adult bib (hopefully dyneema from garage grown gear, but they don't exist yet) so to not contaminate my camp clothes & attract a bear to my tent while i sleep, either MMJ medicated or wearing ear plugs, probably both 😝

      Thanks for watching! I always research the area before I set out on a hike. There are many places that you need a permit camp. I linked the reservations website for this area in my description

      In the alpine, the growing season may only be a few short months, so we are required to set our tents on the provided tent pads for less damage to the environment, but there are some overflow areas...

    omg this is so beautiful and inspiring 🙌🏼 I am thinking of visiting BC solo from Quebec (f,34), but I am scared! 😱 I won’t allow that feat from stopping me, so I think that planning it a bit will make me feel more secure (I am a more spontaneous traveller 😂).Anyways, do you think a 7-10 day trip would be enough time to go on various hiking adventures? Also, transportation from
    Vancouver seems complicated, so is it feasible without a car? lastly, do you know of any hiking groups/tours for solo female or mixed to meet people and make transportation easier? omerci!

    • @NinaDefilla
      @NinaDefilla  Год назад +1

      Sorry for the late reply here. That’s great that you are coming for a visit! Depending on how many hikes you want to get in, that amount of time should be enough. I usually like to travel places for at least 10 days if I’m hiking. As for transportation, there are shuttles to certain areas and also ride share programs like EVO. I would search what is available and plan accordingly.

    • @NinaDefilla

      As for group tours and meet ups, I’m sure those exist too. A quick google search will help you find what you’re looking for
