I live and grew up in Norway.
Even here, the history of WW2 is highly propagandised.
The Soviets were the ones that liberated Norway, forcing the Germans back to Troms. Over 2000 Soviets lost their lives on Norwegian soil.
Compared to that, barely any other forces of the Allies fought for and died with Norwegians on Norwegian soil. Furthermore, the accounts from Norwegians fighting with the Soviets, by order of the Norwegian exile government (London based at the time), was extremely positive and with barely any issues popping up. 11 months after the Soviets entered Norway in order to fight the occupying Germans, they had left. ~2-3 months after having been asked by the Norwegians to do so.
But if you ask any regular Norwegian, they wouldn't know most of this and believe it was the Brits and Americans who liberated them.
The history of WW2 is the sacrifice of millions of Russian lives in order to win against the Germans, and the fact that most of Europe believes they themselves or the Americans did most of the fighting is mind-boggling.
Without the Russians, most of Europe would still be under German rule, from Ireland in the West to Moldova in the East, from Scandinavia in the North to Greece in the South.
That is the history of the end of WW2, and most of Europe conveniently forgets it.

That's a creative retelling of history. In reality the Soviets were the allies of the Nazis, helping them team up on Poland in 1939. The story of WW2 is the story of Nazis and Soviets joining together under the Molotov-Rippentrop pact, and only splitting two years later with Barbarossa.

I've read extensively on WW2 and continue to constantly learn new things, however while aware of the massive contribution of the Soviet Union to Europe's liberation, I have never seen anything about the Soviet Army in Norway. Thank you for highlighting this forgotten piece of history.
Here in the UK we tend to focus on the invasion of occupied France and the Naval war, even neglecting our own 14th Army in the Far East (Slim's forgotten army) and the contribution of the commonwealth in punching above our weight, particularly India. However this isn't surprising as nothing is taught in schools about it, relying on memorial days for awareness.

I personally think yes, it is one of the very shamefull moments in British History. To my mind, the most shamefull moment for the British was the Anglo Boer War 1899 -1902. The big satisfaction for us South Africans is that 40 000 Boers in the veld ( aged 8years old to 96 years old men), against 500 000 ( five hundred thousand) British soldiers, cost the British their Global Empire. Justice prevailed. God is with us and with Russia!

Growing GMO corn and soybean, and running money press is not substitute for industry. At that time when all major factories from Rockford, Illinois where I lived, left the town for China I predicted that in 30 years USA will collapse. I was wrong , it took 40 years and now happening.

The US congress is openly owned by aipac. The policies of US are heavily judaized, hence the unspeakable cynicism towards American citizenry and the rabid supremacist rage towards Russia and China. The mass slaughter of children and women in Gaza is a representative sample of global jewry mentality. It is no a coincidence that the US/Canada are sprinkled with Nazi memorials, and jews have been OK with the monuments, while j-ws have been assaulting and imprisoning all honest historians and engineers whose research does not comply with the shoah-memes. See the wiki's incomplete list under "Memorials in Canada to Nazis and Nazi collaborators" and "Monuments in the United States to Nazi collaborators." Who has founded and funded the four Nazi battalions (including the Azov battalion of swastika-covered "freedom fighters") murdering civilians in Donbas and beyond? - Kolomojsky, the former president of the j-sh community of Ukraine. All 37 j-sh members of US congress support Banderites. This is Judea War on Russia, by any means, including the tight collaboration with the self-proclaimed Nazis.

Medvedev is correct: Russia is bad at negotiations (and marketing and communication and treaties etc.).
    However, Russia excels at war.
The Ukraine, Lenin's forced construct, was always dysfunctional and needs to be ended.
5 ethnicities incarcerated into a state construct that they never identified with: Hungarians, Slovaks, Romanians, Russians and also Galicians.
Galicians which used to be part of the Austrian empire and before that of the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth/empire try to control the whole construct with all its resources, even though they make up less than 15% of the population. The tool is the well known racial national socialism ideology, which Galicians were disciplies of inthe 1940ies.
It is Yugoslavia all over again, only that in Yugoslavia, the majority of Serbs wanted to preserve the 5 multi-ethnic construct while the other ethnicities: Slowenians, Croats, Bosnians and Macedonians didn't want to.
Forced into a state by Tito they became dysfunctional in the 80ies, when Gorbachev dismantled the Soviet empire and comecon broke up and the communist ideology collapsed. The divorce was bloody.
Czechoslovakia was the one exception where two ethnicities with different ideas about their future divorced amicably and democratically through a popular vote.
However most ethnic divorces are very bloody and lengthy 10-25 years. Lebanon was kept together after its civial war of 10 years by outside force- but remains in an eternal dysfunctional chaotic state. Only Syria wanted to stabilise Lebanon and because of that got into the crosshairs of the US empire.
Now, the Ukraine , its "culture" and language was created forcefully and artificially against the will of its people in 2 forced chapters: 1772 and 1922 and will be splitt up and multi-divorced by force- no other outcome.
Once Russia understands that the idea of the Ukraine was never going to work, Russia will also understand that chaos or war will remain in that region unless it is restructured completely- no rest of the Ukraine- bar the Galician part must remain.
No state has a right of existence.
Its existence comes from the identification of the people at the bottom with it- not from the outside or top down. The state DNA must be functional and the Ukraine never had a working state DNA. This is why it always was the most corrupt construct. A country's corruption equates the degree of identification of the people living in it with it. And identification requires deep roots and historical sense and embracing traditions and religion is part of tradition.
If you don't identify with your country you just use it , exploit it and don't contribute to it. You will do nothing for your country/community and take everything with hook and crook you can.
Russia has not yet fully understood this but they will get there, eventually, given enough aggression against it.

@DajeilGelian……..
