Thank you Unisuga.
Yup. Nothing else that needs to be said. Simply one of the greatest songs to exist in our planet.
After CS3:
I don't need sleep, i need answers
same, just finished the game yesterday
I regret finishing this game before oct 27th xd
I straight up didnt sleep that night. Just watched on repetition the original Sen4 trailer for the entire night.
yeah i finished it on the 30th of december, i was not fucking ready for the new years party i was supposed to host the day after
We’re almost only 3 weeks and half at the time of this comment
nothing will ever top the feelings that you have when you reach the climax of a trails game
Me at the beginning of the game: "This is an amazing intro. It gets me so hyped."
Me listening to it after the end of the game: "Oh god this just reminds me of the inevitable spiral into the abyss of this wretched fairytail that's written in ink as black as despair."
That's why I love it
The last dungeon is literally a spiral
Cold steel 3 proluge op is like ascending to despair then Cold steel 4 prologue op is ascending from despair.
One of the best wretched fairly tales written in ink black as despair I've ever read.
@@micske0337 That's true in the most literal sense. The states keep getting higher and higher in three until chaos erupts at the end. Trails IV is putting all the broken pieces back together again.
At the start of the game: "Damn, such a cool and epic song"
After the end of the game: *Depression*
Juna: I know we're in the middle of something, but your voice changed back, Kurt.
Poor guy never takes a break.
Musse: Aw, poo. The medicine wore off
Kurt: C-Can we just focus on the task at hand, please?@@heavymetalmixer91

Beat the game last night, the entire finale was superb and the wait for CS4 will be a long one but well worth it
We must rise....
to see this wretched fairy tale through to the end.
We may get CS4 in 2020. New consoles coming out in 2020. And falcom talked about the next trails of game and also a zero no kiseki remake for ps4.
Just beat it last night. Allow me to join in the wait.
Hearing the 2nd Opening song of this game (shortened version of this) left me hoping to hear it again. And man did it deliver at the right time! Probably my favorite track from this game.
@@gavingonzalez367 Not just yet. It shouldn't be a long wait though.
the pure tension that the melody progressively builds up is genuinely one of the best i've ever heard
FINALLY finished this game after 7 months. ~180 hours total playtime, and every second was worth it. Trails is easily my favorite series, and I'm sure it always will be.
Woha I thought my 90 odd hour time was impressive haha!
4 months 480 hours.. haha... its over....
My 1st gameplay was 122h , but i enjoyed it so much
Honestly, the music is one of the best reasons people play these games.
One of CS1 songs popped up on my recommended one day, so I decided to check it out. No regrets, LoH is now my favourite RPG series.
Exactly! I could listen to this music non-stop:D
I play it for the story and combat
Music alone makes it very catchy. What hits the nail however is how synchronized the compositions are to the events/gameplay they are used on. Everything is flowing.
the reason I want to play ;-;
I love it when they mix traditional instrument with modern electronic music.
Yeah, hearing that guitar rocking out in the background with the foreboding, quick violin is incredible (not sure if that's what you mean but that's what really jumps out at me).
Man no matter how many times I listen to this I get chills everytime, replaying Cold Steel 3 after finishing Sky and Crossbell and hearing this masterpiece again is such a delight. Unisuga is seriously an incredible composer his dungeon tracks are always amazing
The cliffhanger of this game really affected me... Ever since I played the first game Rean got attached to me not as a protagonist but as a person. Just like to other protagonists like Estelle,Kevin and Lloyd. Every Trails protagonists was really attached to me like family. Seeing the ending of this affected me... A lot. I finished this just 2 weeks before the fourth game was released... Seeing the Valimar picture at the end made me really depressed of what Rean just went through.... I needed to play the fourth game as soon as possible... I needed to know what would happen next as quick as possible.... The Trails games are the best thing that happened to me. It's the best RPG games I ever played....
Same here. Never have i ever been so attached to any video game, until I pushed through trails of cold steel 1. I thought the game was going to be boring and just school slice of life stuff. Boy was I wrong.
I've never felt so attached to one particular game, from Sky FC to Hajimari the Trails series has a unique feature that AAA JRPGS the likes of Final Fantasy lacks... That's world building, it feels like I'm inside Zemuria experiencing an overarching story that spans 10 games/ 3 arcs (as of now) meeting different characters, creating memorable moments, NPCs acts like fully fledged characters, experiencing each characters backstory and so much more.
IMO this gotta be one of the most ambitious projects in gaming and Calvard is just around the corner, can't wait to see how the 2nd half of the series will takes us and how it'll conclude at the end.......Though there's approx 20 years left into the series
@@ztune3945 Agreed. Talking to npc's in the Trails games, they talk about relevant topics, either to what is going on right now, or telling us about the city, themselves, or current events. It's not just pointless filler just to have the option to talk to npcs, nor where like some jrpg games where you can't even talk to most NPCS. When we were told 60% was where trails of cold steel was at, just as you said we still got like "20" more years to go ahah. I hope there are going to be great JRPGS like trails for the ps5 and in the future.
Cold Steel 3 was my first Trails game and the ending STILL fucked me up. I had none of the prior exposure to the overarching plot and I still ended up invested in all of the characters, from Rean to Bennet and Luna. That's first-class worldbuilding right there.
That ending was really something else
Best JRPG story that i have ever experienced and probably will be my best for a very long time..a masterpiece
The amount of dedication poured into the game by the developers is astounding to me. One of the best games I have played on PC till now. I will get CS4 soon after I finish this one.
Has an beautiful actiony despair to it.
Which (without spoiling the plot) is exactly what the relevant prose material is about in the section that it is used...
DISAPPEAR!!!! - Oh, wait... wrong song
2:44 I felt such a rush of urgency to save my daughter Altina whenever I heard this part, Trails is a masterpiece for being able to make me feel this way, only a handful of games have done that which is just another reason why this is in my top 3 games easily.
It is the best part ❤
Basically your locked out of 3 party members 2 members I bet you builded throughout your entire game(me being Altina being my Main support as Emma wasn’t always available so I put the best Healing Support to Altina and I’m like FUCK)
"Hey, That's Hell you're walking into"
I've just beaten Trails into Reverie but still come back to this because god DAMN did they just nail it with this theme, just the perfect final dungeon theme, such darkness, such urgency, and it just keeps on building just like how we all descended the steps to the bottom to save Altina.
I beat this game about two weeks or so after the release. Now that I've had about over a month to cool off, I gotta say that the fucking ending hurt a lot. This was the first game to make me cry in about 12 years. Like, I fucking broke down, man.
I know how you feel.😭
I know that ending was seriously painful it's waaaay worse than cold steel's 1 cliffhanger 😭😭 I hope CS4 releases soon so I can put all my rage into kicking osborne's ass
The theme of Gungnir + Minotauros Rean annihilating everything in the final dungeon with Arcane Gale
Truly a masterpiece, iconic and flawless track. The composition is absolutely amazing and the arrangement is perfect. The bass is insanely good in this one. The lead trumpet with the keyboard following it in the background is phenomenal. Energetic and emotional, one of Unisuga's best works.
This track is ridiculously good
Just beat CS3 (ENG) - superb game, writing, characters, music, world. For me, first story to make me feel EVERY emotion since FF7. Much love.
You need to play the previous games to experience the full potential of CS3.
(CS3 becomes persona 5 tier if played after playing all previous trails games)

They brought this back for the crossdressing side episode in Reverie I'm dying
Awesome man Im about to finish 4 than starting reverie.
Which episode ?
Kurtina is best.
What the fuck...
wtf, do I even want to know?
really love cs3's final dungeon
no gimmicks like opening doors, destroying stuff, etc. just a long corridor full of monsters to kill
and of course, the banger music
Lol I literally just commented basically the same. I've played a bunch of JRPGs by now and so far CS3's has been the best by far. Straight to the point, epic, heartbreaking, all music is 11/10, no mazes or puzzles to detract from hype, then the worst (in a good way) cliffhanger ever conceived by man
@@Walamonga1313 Which ends up being pointless bait to keep people thinking the plot radically changes direction and overall mood but doesn't. Not to mention there was no shot those deaths were actually deaths.
@@meltygear5955 That's the reason I stopped playing the Kiseki games midway through. When death doesn't actually MEAN death anymore, the narrative loses its impact. Of all the deaths, there was only 1 final one, I believe.
こ
@@Rajin90try kingdom hearts, where death wasn't exist unless it's the mobile gacha game.
I love how this track incorporates musical elements and styles from every composer who had worked on the series up to this point. This is impeccable work, a grand testament to Unisuga's skill.
It's hard not to be hyped after hearing something like this.
I find it so fitting that they placed Altina alongside Rean on the soundtrack cover.
Sometimes I wonder how much the following story would change if Altina didn't grow the way she did, and consequently didn't make the decision in the finale that she made.
Altina and Rean relationship is central in the series. In fact Altina, Alisa and Juna (and Celine if you count cats) are the only girls that have a canonical deep connection with Rean, outside of the optional bonding events. If you dont follow the bonding events, Rean doesnt have such a deep connection with a lot of people of Class IV. However even without bonding events, Altina, Alisa and Juna and their relationship with Rean is a very large part of the narrative. From the male characters, it is Jusis and Crow mostly.
The music transition is really great. Love it
2:36 is a gut punch of feels. hype, anxiety, drama, AUGH
Best final dungeon theme in any JRPG. Fits the themes perfectly, sounds both epic and like a struggle, it's got tons of layers with instruments coming in and out... just like the dungeon itself which imo is super nice. No random ass puzzles or overly big areas like in most JRPGs (I call it JRPG curse, when final dungeons are too tedious to be fun/hype). Then in between you've emotional encounters as boss battles with their own special track for the feels? Cmon, CS3's finale was something else.
The fucking dungeon with the dragon was Mechanic Dungeon Galore due to you splitting into 3 different groups and opening a lot of keys basically to progress to the next area in the dungeon
I also like A Light Illuminating The Depths.
Me when seeing the prologue video: "Oh man, that track was AMAZING! It sucks that it was so short. So great"
Me when the full version finally plays in-game: "AHHHHHHHHHHHH YEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!"
Thoraxes Totally with you there, the extra final part of this ost in the game just made it even more epic
Rean and Co. spiralling down to the bottom of dark ink of despair.
I just started to cry of how this thing is so good omg
i have eargasms each time i listen to this ost
Iv been pulled into this Wretched Fairytail that's written in ink as black as despair, and i cannot nor would not want to escape.... DEAR GOD THAT ENDING THO, i cant listen to this without tearing up a little......
Can Infinity War’s ending compare to this?
Unisuga’s magnum opus, tbh.
Its usage in-game elevates it even further.
Tbh if it's unisuga we're talking about he has too many tracks that can be considered magnum opus
(azure arbitrator, phantasmal blaze, blue destination, majestic roar, the end of saga, sunshine coastline, etc.)
@@d343-y Don't forget about Vesper Umbra
that moment when the villians show up and the music gets more imposing than heroic just superb. I especially like how it contrasts with Cold Steel 4's prolougue opening where it goes from more imposing to less.
0:00~0:51, we listen to this when we found something totally beyond our expectations, and what we have got is just a tip of iceberg.
Finally beat the game last night.
So happy I didn't spoil myself and waited for the localization.
Cheers until Cold Steel 4!
Spiral of erebos is my alarm tune. I rock out to Trails every morning 😄

One of the best last dungeon songs in a JRPG.
Was giga thankful that the dungeon was just a big escalater with some bossfights inbetween, after CS2 had like 3 final dungeons lol. Final Bossfights could have been much harder imo
@@Realag666 Honestly those fights were easy because of how broken some of the brave orders are. Like even on nightmare none of them used an s-craft on me because you're just so overpowered by that point in the game
This is easily the best final dungeon theme in the series in my opinion. It could not more perfectly capture the atmosphere of the Gral, with allies betraying Class VII and a seemingly unbeatable enemies. Literal peak fiction.
Best way to read all the black records in 1 go
I did exactly that in the final dungeon

It's good but Phantasmal Blaze holds the title for me
i was here because some people said that this is the remix of the "Reverie Corridor" BGM from the 2nd game.
still, its really a pleasant music to my ears!
only the beginning sounds like a remix of "reverie corridor"
the rest is nothing alike
You know what it's also a remix of ? The motif from Heimdallr/Phantasmal Blaze

@@mystery8820 Arararara you'll never know unless you watch it I guess, I can only tell you the views on this video will increase after everyone and their mom watch that. EXPONENTIALLY.
I'm actually curious myself about how high the view count could be mainly because there's a good amount of marketing thus time around lol
@@mystery8820 almost certainly not. In those cases it's implied that if they had done differently, or better, then the tragedy could have been avoided. That's untrue in rean's case.
If rean had not, there was crow, sandlot, rutger, cedric, or osborne. If he had not, one of them would have. Still tragic though
So in the end. It was a lose-lose situation. You’d rather lose on your own terms than in someone else’s. Which in this case, Rean took the sword of demise instead of Cedric, and Millium died instead of Altina.
But you know what sucked about it, Osborne outplayed everyone since Cold Steel 1. He let Crow shoot him, he let the civil war happen, he even popped up alive after Crow died.
No matter how you look at it, Ozzy is always a step ahead of everyone.
NGL, the fact that your group kept decreasing made me think that the Gral was actually a gauntlet. Made me laugh that you could still use Ash and Altina though, despite them both being comatose at that point
