For those asking "how could his friends let him do this?" The answer is his ACTUAL friends did try to restrain him but he got away from them and jumped. From an article from Fox 10 Phoenix comes our answer - "A woman whose son was friends with Robbins and on the boat at the time told Fox News Digital that several students tried to grab Robbins before he took the plunge, but he broke free."
Hey Mr Parton, I'm a Bahamian commercial fisherman, resident in Nassau (New Providence Island). I have to push back on one of your points. Tigers, Grey Reefs and Bulls are abundant across the island's coast. However, Bulls are overwhelmingly more present at the eastern end of the island, including Nassau Harbour (where this ship is based). Tigers are very common in that area also. There is deep water to the North, and vast banks to the south and east. Tigers and Bulls would be prowling the banks all night. Further, the ecosystem is filled with turtles and rays, despite the fact that corals have taken a hit in these areas. Plus, people feed the sharks in these areas. I have no doubt, that if he was floating around all night, a TIger predation is VERY likely. As to whether this footage shows a shark, I doubt it. Looks more like a cresting wake from the ship or simply a whitecap. Just my opinion based on how I know our sharks act. His body was never recovered...which to me indicates he was consumed, whether alive or post-mortem. The chance that his body would Not wash up on the vast expanse of cays and beaches in that area is next to impossible.

I've heard another shark expert say it could actually be a massive 15 foot tiger shark, because that may actually be the dorsal fin we see pop up as opposed to the tail fin.
I was thinking this, ive seen the distance it takes me to stop and start turning when my friends come off my jet ski,, they ate just a dot, now imagine a massive ship thst person is lost before the captain even knows to slow down, I wonder what the stats are of people falling over board on cruises, my friend drunken jumped off the arran ferry while it was leaving port its was literally 100s of feet and he barely made it, the coast guard and ambulance were on the scene in seconds, he told me a couple of times he was just gonna give up it was all screaming that gave him strength, this was in the middle of summer aswell and during the day,
My grandfather who worked in maritime law used to tell me life jackets are mostly for finding bodies too. If someone goes overboard a big ship, especially at night, they are most often screwed

It doesn't matter if that is a shark, a dolphin, a non-shark fish or whatever. It is very obvious that Cameron saw it and swam away from it and the life ring. By swimming into the darkness and not trying to stay where the crew of the ship might be able to rescue him, he lost his life. Spot on about Athol Island. It’s so dangerous to snorkel there. And cruise ships encourage it apparently. I was in the Bahamas in December on a fishing excursion (we went out near Paradise Island), and our boat captain said tiger sharks and bull sharks are in the area and are known to attack people. They’ve attacked many snorkelers, most commonly from the cruise ships. They also mentioned the bull sharks follow their boats to the Nassau marina regularly and act aggressively. He told us that a few days prior to our excursion, he was hosing the boat off and a bull shark grabbed part of the hose near the water and was attacking it…. The shark presence is all downplayed, of course, because of tourism… I’ve been going to the Bahamas for the last 15 years and snorkeled with reef sharks over a decade ago. I would NEVER in this day and age enter that water…. I feel awful for this kid and his family. I’m so upset that nobody on that boat seemed to panic he was in the water. I would’ve been screaming for them to lower the anchor and stop the boat. One dumb decision became the end of his whole life. 😢

Can’t imagine that at night. Poor guy
Hello again Kris, Did you know that during the day the crew get the children to throw food in the water for the fish? That was found on a recent Tripadvisor review. So there is documented proof that food is routinely throw into the water from this vessel. I also read that the night booze cruise is 3 hours long, and that Cameron jumped in the water at 11:30pm, meaning they were in the last 30-45 minutes of their cruise. The crew would be dumping food scraps into the water in this area, as the currents would carry it away from the populated Bahamas Islands. I guarantee that sharks were following this ship.
@@Coccolinodc as they were in the last stretch of their cruise, the employees would have gathered all the scrap food and tossed it overboard around the time and place Cameron jumped overboard. Athol Island is an uninhabited island south of Bahamas main island. Food scraps thrown overboard are caught by currents that’ll carry it away from Bahamas proper. If the food scraps aren’t of the nature sharks might eat, the food scraps will attract small to medium sized fish, and these fish would attract sharks. Nearly every boat in the world throws food scraps overboard. We are conditioning fish, including sharks, to follow us on the water, in the hopes of an easy meal.
I grew up in Florida and there is no doubt, in my mind, that Cameron was taken by sharks. And I say this plural. People do not understand how many sharks there are in the water as they are swimming. Especially out the middle of the Night Ocean. I am sorry for this young man and for his family and friends it is a sad tragedy. Nobody should be swimming in the ocean at night.

I used to work as Chief Engineer and Rescue Diver on a large, live aboard Dive Yacht based out of Paradise Island, Nassau. We also did the odd dinner cruise as well. Our galley food waste routinely went over the side and we were often followed around by various shark species as well as large barracudas. Not unlikely that that boat attracts sharks all the time. While massive cruise ships may be prohibited from discharging galley food waste I know for a fact that smaller operators and private yachts still do so. As far as engine noise scaring off sharks? Not in my experience. In fact when we did 'shark dives' we never baited or chummed in the sharks. Reef sharks and sometimes Bull Sharks would be drawn in even as we were still hooking up to the mooring ball with both main engines and generator running. Add to that the fact that Tiger Sharks in the Bahamas often 'patrol' the currents between islands at night hunting prey and the likelihood of becoming prey in that young man's situation are pretty high IMHO.
You are spot on!!! The tiger shark would have been his down fall after a few hours swimming in dark!! They are opportunist and even a exploratory bite is enough to kill a human just from blood loss alone !! Good day chap
It’s crazy you mentioned a barracuda because in the og video after he sinks and the camera rotates left, there’s what looks like a shape in the very surface of the water that you can see moving towards him.. it happens fast so you need to like slow it down.. this is such a sad, unfortunate “wrong place wrong time” type of situation. 💔
Thanks for sharing your experience, I’ve seen a big tiger (and other sharks) bolt after hearing a boat engine in the Bahamas before - so I suppose we can only somewhat base it off our own experiences

Let's focus on what we do know. When Cameron started to swim toward the floating device, he saw or felt something that made him swim the opposite direction. Small shark surfaces but I guarantee you that wasn't the only shark in the vicinity. Sharks are like cockroaches. There's never just one. This kids body has never been recovered. He was eaten by Sharks. These boats are sources of food for Sharks and they are always in the vicinity of party boats, fishing boats, offshore rigs, cruise ships and naval vessels. Don't jump off of these boats and especially at night. You're just asking for trouble
I have experience in the water around several Bahamian islands. The current is much, much stronger than you’d expect. I am a very strong swimmer but, a few years ago, found myself being swept away from our diving boat after not realizing how significant an ankle injury was. It happens fast. You’re swallowing salt water. The panic sets in. It’s terrifying.
I know it's a bad and dangerous situation, but in that situation you should just tread water (lie on your back with a chest full of air), relax and let the current take you where it will. You'll likely end up on shore somewhere. And if you don't... you didn't have a choice anyway. This was not the work of the current, and from experience it doesn't look like the current was even all that bad here... he too looks to be a pretty strong swimmer and absolutely wouldn't have drowned in these conditions. He was attacked by multiple tiger/bull sharks. No doubt about it
I can't imagine how guilty his "friends" must be feeling. It's so sad to have life just thrown away like that. Even if it wasn't a shark the odds of him surviving after drinking is low. My dad took us to see jaws when I was around 12 years old. I won't even go swimming in the local lakes.

You're incorrect that noone screamed "Shark!" In the first 3 seconds of the video, you can hear a girl scream "AAAAHHH! SHARK! AAAAHHHH!" It looks like a shark and they reacted like it was a shark. Conclusion: There was definitely at least one shark moving toward him.

No matter how this young man's life ended it was tragic and easily avoidable. I know his family must be devastated and I hope they find peace soon.
Go back and listen closely...slow it down if you need too.... immediately after you hear the person say "this kid fucking jumped in", you can hear a girl or woman yell, "Shark!!! It's a shark!" It's undeniable. Additionally...go to the end and listen....right after that guy says bye bye....there are 2 blood curdling screams. They do not sound like someone just yelling and having fun...nor do they sound like they're coming from near the guy filming.
@@RonSavage01 I'm not denying that a shark was possibly the culprit. I was just admitting where I had made a mistake while first viewing the video, but I will go back and have another listen.
@@RonSavage01 I heard female screaming at the beginning of the video making the purported shark appearing then more plausible. Couldn't make out audible words, just seemed like purely screaming. Im really surprised this is the only video. Everyone always has a phone. I think they were soley focused on Cameron that no one saw the other movement.
In my opinion, the friends who dared him to jump overboard were the closest to the "cause" of his death here. Like he said, "not very good friends". Sometimes it's better to just keep those 2 to 3 friends or even just the one best friend, than having yourself surrounded by toxic relationships, which to a popular kid like he was was something that he would have voluntarily signed up for without being conscious of the negativity that underlies his circle of friends.
Prob not that deep knowing young western lads, I expect they were drunk and one his friends dared him to jump off and he agreed thinking it would be a funny thing to do. I wouldn't say Cameron wasn't with good friends because intoxicated 18-year-old kids say and do impulsive things. We wouldn't say Cameron wasn't that smart because he jumped. We understand at 18 the brain is still developing and testosterone and dopamine are partly to blame. This connection between brain development and impulsivity can lead to poor decision making. Cameron didn't think of the dangers before jumping so I would assume the kid that dared him didn't either. They will have to live with this guilt forever... I don't really mean to make a big defense for friends. I just feel so bad for all involved. I have kids and I know how impulsive they can be.
Perfect comment. It's like everyone judging was never young and drunk and did something stupid. Unfortunately, in this case, he was presumably killed, either by sharks or the ocean as a whole. His friends on the boat must be feeling awful right now, and their lives are gonna change forever.
Exactly. I remember being young and stupid You don’t have that much thought to all of the consequences until you’re older… honestly I didn’t even gain that ability until I had kids and had to realize “If I die doing something stupid my kids don’t have a mom to come home to anymore.” It was probably just a silly dare thinking he wouldn’t do it, he (possibly being intoxicated) had the “courage” to do the dare and they probably didn’t realize how bad it was until he vanished into the night.
Couldn't agree more. My heart breaks for the kids being demonized, for Cameron's family, for Cameron himself... The entire situation is a tragedy; and while I understand the very human need to look for who to blame, I truly don't think there is anyone who deserves blame here
There is a longer video I have only seen on another site where we see him almost as soon as he gets in the water. Almost immediately he is throwing punches in the water -- not wading, not swimming -- throwing huge punches into the dark water and then it gets to the portions we see starting with "this kid jumped in..". Also at the same time the person says 'bye bye', can hear the person next to him saying what sounds like "there is some --- CHOMPING at his sh*%". I don't think he was completely in control when he turned from the buoy, it seems at that point something had a hold of him/his arm. If you slow down when he starts kicking to swim away, you see that he was initially, abruptly pushed down into the water. It did not look like a natural movement from him. In an instance you see the figure around and on top of his leg. A split second later, he is gone. I was keeping an open mind and I can't say anything with absolute certainty, but to me it seems pretty clear this was a shark attack.
I just rewatched the video after ur comment and its clear he doesnt have his left arm as there is no motion or waving from his left side on contrary to his right as if he is trying to compensate, either way its a loss of someone young that had a future ahead of him.

@Steven Curtis they did follow protocol and threw him the buoy and were yelling for him to take it, but he swam away from it and then disappeared. This is the story I heard on one news report. This is also why they were saying maybe there was a shark.
Tragic as the Cameron Robbins incident is, Cameron was a victim of stupidity and hubris. @@getouthopethey were feeding the sharks before he jumped in. That’s why they dared him to do it in the first place. Also why everyone was in absolute shock and panicked that he actually jumped in instead of laughing it off as a goofy prank. They already saw the sharks so there’s no need to scream shark once in the water. One kid even says they’re chomping on his shit right before the a-hole says bye bye…
There's a newer, clearer, slightly longer video on Twitter now. I took screenshots from a dozen stills, and, sadly, there's very, VERY clearly a large shark that bites his legs. I understand why people don't want to think that , though. So, I say it's best to let people believe what they can cope with. Poor kid. I hope his family finds peace.
What Debate? What Questions? You literally can hear crystal clear, a girl scream "There's a Shark!" in the 1st 2 seconds of the clip. And you see something other than a life preserver that moves against of the water flow, indicating it is alive. Also he freezes, then stares right at it when the girls screams "there is a shark", and immediately starts to swim away from it. You almost can see the "Oh Sh!t" look and movement of his body. So Yes he was eaten by a shark within minutes after jumping off the boat. This also shows that kids/young adults from all walks of life in a party scene with friends, can lack common sense. I feel for the family.
@@VainSick Not really relevant considering my point is about if there was or not. But thank you. And I've been a diver for 45 years. Maybe not knowledgeable as your masters degree. Again I feel for the family.
That definitely wasn't a splash from his legs swimming like you said. Slow it down and watch it again. You could see his legs moving (swimming) normally, and off beat you see an inconsistent splash with what looks like (maybe) a tiger shark pulling him under. You can also hear him screaming.
yep, it's really terifyng feeling when you watch it frame by frame and there is a sudden something big going after his feet in a split of a second, a shark's head
The video of the splash has been slowed down and the colors adjusted/amplified to show definitively that something other than his legs made the splash which coincided with him going under. The scream can also be heard in this video amongst the noise (definitely not hallucination), but there is another video of all the excess noise cut out with the exception of a scream; a pretty horrific scream at that. Can't definitively say the scream is his, but I'm 99.9% sure the splash was caused by something other than his legs. And the shark head thing that shows up in the video might also be an indication of something.
@@TwigznBerries I watched multiple videos according to this, and that early splash looks exactly like when a shark's dorsal fin thrust through water surface when he attacks, it happened so quick, not many people realized what happened, and then he was suddenly gone that they didn't hear from him, because he was under the water eaten by sharks, sadly
I'm convinced you see him get bit on camera when he juts down in the water and then, one second later, you hear really awful screams. The screams kinda sealed it. I mean, everyone close the camera sounds VERY loud just by talking. The party resonates from the left side of the 'view' (left headphone), and the right side is nothing but water because it's the bow of the ship. Which only leaves one conclusion. The fact the screams happen right after he suddenly jerks forward in the water and he then immediately disappears says it all. There is, of course, the nature of the screams. Also, if you go frame-by-frame, you can see him open his mouth as he shunts forward (8:02-8:04, looking right, jerks his head forward, mouth opens). Because they're at the bow away from the party, I don't think hardly anyone even saw what happened. 8:03 fools people to look at the wrong thing -- it's not the right leg, it's his left leg/hip, hence why he shunts in the opposite direction, slapping right leg/right arm into the water, and why he jerks his head from right to left. IMO, it's a shark attack right there and then. The screams pretty much confirm it to me, and I don't know why people ignore the audio there.
@@JenniferLeavittjnl It's a man screaming twice. It happens as everyone else is yelling and you likely will not hear it without headphones. Right at the part where the cameraman is yelling to "grab the buoy."
@@spittlefish5208 yep. it lines up perfectly with when he goes from swimming to dropping like a stone. if you have a good headphone setup you can clearly hear the screams are coming from off the boat. there should be no debate here.
There are much clearer versions (this one looks like one shared 40 times already) and they show Cameron striking the water with his right hand at the very beginning of him being in the film. I think he was being attacked before the video actually started filming. When he turns to swim away I think he has already been bitten. He never uses his left arm while swimming away. And the guy filming said “this kid is gone bro” after Cameron literally disappears.... he didn’t say “he’s floating away” or “he’s behind the boat” or “we have to turn and get him” or anything like that and he was looking right at him. He said... “he’s gone”.
@@Marshmobilise noway. He says it as C turns away from the life preserver. The guy yelling sounds like a spectator in awe of what was happening. Sounds like his tone changed when he also realized this could lead to death.
@@brandyoctober5923 well what else were they meant to do? Probably in shock themselves, too. People simply don't react to these situations in the way you would expect. Most people freeze and become numb in a crisis situation.
The way he went down so fast it was definitely a shark. I've been to Bahamas a few times and they are filled with sharks. They dont warn u how many sharks follow cruise boats...mainly because people throw food overboard and they follow the boats. This was insane.
Nah, this kid had it even worse. Watching the boat fade off beyond the waves, until he was left in complete darkness alone in the great open ocean.... Then drowned. Because there was no shark.
Probably a reef shark. I doubt it attacked him. He probably just got drunk and that's not going to help him swim. He lived to see the boat move further away as the darkness surrounded him and the vast ocean was the only thing left.
This is so horribly sad, I couldn’t imagine how his parents feel, he went off to celebrate a milestone in life and then just disappeared with no real explanation as to what happened to him. I would buy a boat and never stop looking for my baby until we found him. Bless their hearts.
I hope the parents never saw this video. It must be hard to see the last footage of the child you raised with his dumb friends in the background joking around and saying bye bye.
I can’t imagine how scary it must have been for him. I have huge respect for the ocean to the point where you would never find me out in it in the middle of the night. Nice to see you back. Sending love to you and your family.
This was a hazing incident. Those who encouraged him/ egged him on to get in the water after he'd been drinking should be charged, they are complicit in his death. Any fish with teeth is capable of doing damage from a barracuda to any size shark. If losing a limb seems like no great loss if you make it out alive, "doing damage" is relative. Just finished watching a video on Megaladon, sighted /evidenced around the Bahamas....this was no joke. He should never have lost his life that nite. So sad. Condolences to his family.
Good to see you back, Kris. I think it's imperative that people learn the biggest killer in the ocean is the ocean itself. I live in Australia, I live a 15-20 min walk/2 min drive from the beach, and we have an old Dutch shipwreck not far out to sea. Before you even get to the water, you need to watch out for snakes. 😂 Everyone, please take care out there and don't do anything stupid. The sea is unforgiving. Go and watch Bondi Rescue or something 😂
@Chilling in the Frozen North Sea snakes are rarely seen except in tropical northern waters here in Aust. Though very venomous they don't have mouthparts that can hurt humans.
Some new information since surfaced on reddit: the ship was not moving, it was anchored and had a diving ladder on the back. There is a reason why Cameron turned around so suddenly and also a reason why he couldn't reach that ladder even though the ship was not moving. Also information from people on the boat suggests that he was not dared by anyone, in fact, multiple people tried to stop him jumping in the water but he was way too drunk to be reasoned with. I'm not sure if there is a shark on the video but an anchored ship shouldn't have a wake so there was something in the water that Cameron saw and he probably thought it was a shark and turned around but never made it to the back. There might have been another shark off-screen or the current could have dragged him, we will never know.
He also could’ve just gotten scared of being in dark water or something that he thought he saw because he’s dehydrated because he’s drunk and just drowned - and was eaten after
Another great video. Very happy to see you back buddy. Has anyone from on the boat talked about what they witnessed? A friend of mine sadly passed away while surfing. It was during the day and nothing to do with sharks. He was an incredible swimmer too but sadly sometimes people just get overwhelmed at sea. Poor Cameron, it's a terrible shame x
Dude why do you so badly want people to not think it was a shark attack despite the clear evidence? What do you gain from it? Like you try desperately to deny it was a shark in the video that takes him down, then proceed to try to remind us how rare shark attacks are. Sound like a business owner trying to make their customers feel safe again. Wonder why that is.
You're not viewing the shark from directly above so it will look smaller. Also the splash looks rather like the upper, larger lobe of the tail. That piece of film of the bull shark you gave shows very well the much longer upper lobe of the bull shark as it actually turns in the water, rather resembling the shark (let's face it, that is what it is) in the video. I suspect the shark was one of several cruising around the ship at the time (I believe there's the shadow of a smaller, 5 or so feet, shark, swimming from right to left between the lad and the ship, just before the splash of the first shark's tail. The splash of the poor lad landing in the water immediately drew their attention, they followed him out of sight of the ship and once one took a nibble the rest moved in. The poor bloke. It's my worst nightmare and he copped it at 18. My heart goes out to his family.
If it was a Bull shark those buggers don't stop. But the fact he doesn't scream at all, doesn't even thrash? Not convinced. The only stories i've ever heard of people being pulled under in one swoop have been from great whites. Bull sharks attack like dogs and just keep mauling, tigers are like a less powerful great white.
Terrifying, an absolute nightmare. Poor lad, horrible way to go, alone in the ocean at night. We all did stupid things at that age, but what a price to pay.
There is NO QUESTION! The crew saw it and one even said “chomping at his shit”. Don’t believe me just turn the original videos audio up, put it to your ear and….listen
For such a stupid reason. His parents will have big black hollows in their chests for years to come. Sometimes the void in your chest shrinks down a bit but at a sound, a scent or a memory it can grow big and it will feel like it's engulfing them in the deepest sorrow a human can feel. The loss of a child. Their age doesn't matter. Mine was 36 when pneumonia took him. It's been 7 years. My mind must be engaged or I think. I don't want to think. Letting my thoughts wander brings on tears of sorrow. So hard not to let the loss of my only child consume my mind. I used to read voraciously. Now my thoughts wander and I can't keep my focus on what I'm reading. Instead of reading myself to sleep as I had done since I was a child I now put on old movies. He had insomnia, too. He would have his dvr playing baseball or Seinfeld episodes all night. I miss him. I miss his hugs and humor and I really miss the rousing discussions we would have had about recent politics.
@Wendy Butler I understand what you're describing. I'm sorry for the pain that you feel. And it's true as time goes on there are better days but the slightest thing can trigger such a deep painful feeling. It's awful.
@Luis Ruiz embarrassed for you to feel that way. You're more concerned about what others think of your abilities to parent than the fact that your kid would be dead. That's so sad.
As a parent of 4 (now adult) boys, our main goal is to get our children (ESPECIALLY BOYS) to adulthood in one piece. Boys are known for dangerous and idiotic behavior... To have a child reach adulthood and then this happens must be beyond comprehension. My heart goes out to his family.
The law says you're an adult at 18 but your brain isn't matured and fully adult until about 26. College kids are legally adults but we all know how dumb they can be.
Having grown up in the islands and spending a huge chunk of my childhood across the Bahamian islands,100% that was a shark - clear as day. I’ve seen hundreds of sharks in person in the wild - no doubt here.
It’s strange how nobody from the actual cruise has spoken up. The audio has also been cut and edited in various places. You can hear people on the crew saying (There’s a -ark!) with the beginning of the audio being mysteriously cut out. This poor kid set the conditions perfectly to be mauled by diving in the water, at night, alone and where scraps of food were definitely being tossed off to feed the fish. I believe everyone on the cruise ship including the students and the crew came to a legal agreement of silence. The evidence we have with the video is too condemning for a simple drowning.
@@samantharose1144everyone knows what happened. It was a very unfortunate accident. He didn't jump in thinking he was gonna be eaten. Nothing is being hidden. There are sharks in the ocean...and they follow ships. Everybody knows thay
This kid was pulled under and devoured by sharks and that's the end of story. Is like somebody jumping into the Nile river full of crocs at night and never heard of again, then you hear all kinds of speculations but nobody mentioning the obvious..the crocodiles.
When I was in Nassau Bahamas, the sharks were all over . I asked the captain of the boat I was on to see sharks. He went to an area where people were throwing chum in and the Bull sharks came up from the depths so quickly I couldn’t believe my eyes. Also, we snorkeled in the waters off of Rose island and the captain told us to look under the water in the distance and you could see silhouettes of sharks in the deeper waters. Only a year after we were there, a young woman was attacked and killed by three lemon sharks in the same area we were snorkeling.
Lemon sharks!! I have seen them in their natural state , but this shark feeding is plain stupid . Brings them in for a frenzy. I feed ducks and they know my car and wait for when I come-like clock work. Animals , sharks etc are not dumb-they live a free meal
My aunt is a chief stewardess on super yachts and luxury boats and she told me after this incident, there's a reason she stays FAR away from the railing at night when she's in Nassau, because the waters are infested at night. On land, she heard countless Tales of sharks following boats because they learned that food is close to boats, these animals are extremely intelligent. I do believe he touched something in the water and the current took him and the possibility that there was a shark close to the boat is very likely and the splash surely attracted whatever was in the water, but I also think it was the current that took him
After rewatching the original video in really slow motion, I actually changed my mind about the splashes being from his legs kicking. If you really pay attention during slow motion, you'll notice the positioning of his legs and feet and the timing of the splashes are not in sync. If you pause it just right, you'll see his legs in an odd position that doesn't really coincide with the splash, and it's quite literally a moment before he disappears from view. The fact that they called off the search, and that there's no other video surfacing (no chance this was the only person recording), both authorities and the parents have most likely determined it was a shark attack.
Plus the girls screaming. Why are they screaming because a dude is in the water? That is a scream like you see something shocking, like a shark attack. Also, theres a dude that yells, "theres something chomping on his shit!". Well have to wait til other videos eventually get leaked.
yeah I agree if you use hyper scrolling and look at it like a gif, his leg wouldn't have moved in a way where it could have looked like that even on a bad camera, to me it just looks like a shark bit him right at that moment. and it would fit with the timing assuming the silver blur was the shark, I think if he was going for the bite off the bat thats how long it would have taken to get to him. and the fact he legit disappears right after that almost guarantees it for me. I saw a longer version of the vid on twitter and the guy filming stands up and goes to the other side to try and film him floating away (this is after the part where we think he was bit) but he was already gone.
Absolutely that is a fucking shark! And then you can hear him screaming a few minutes later, and from my point of view, it looked like a white tip, a particularly dangerous breed.
Bro what are you talking about two 12’ tigers killed an American woman in Nassau while swimming with turtles 4 years ago while on her honeymoon. There’s lots of sharks in Nassau 😂
This guy is a snake -> He saw an opportunity to create controversy and get views is all. We all know it was sharks. You don't need to study marine life to know :D
The guy who jumped in the video looked like is was not incapacitated and an able swimmer. While the video is so shaky, posts where it was shown frame by frame suggest it was a large tiger shark, maybe 4-5m long. There is one frame where a shark snout shape seem to overlap the feet and the legs. If it was smaller sharks the victim would not have disappeared and his screams would have been audible. Most likely he was bitten by a large tiger shark, taken under and fully consumed. The boat did not appear to be moving. Probably the lights and the noise might have attracted curious sea life. Tiger sharks are present close to shore in shallow water. Maybe a large bull shark, but in the Bahamas there are many tiger sharks, that are generally larger than bull sharks. The splashing and swimming away may have triggered the predator instinct. What is visible is only part of the shark, maybe a fin.
Not only that buy a cruise ship is like a giant reef. It attracts a bunch of fish and shard and all kind of stuff. It's like a floating island. Plus like the guy mentioned, people throw stuff overboard. And the ship potentially dumps stuff as well.
There are some great filtered videos on TikTok that show there are 2 sharks in the frame. In the last second, you see a shark pull Cameron under, and Cameron completely disappears from the frame.
Please dont take dares from anyone. The one screaming dares let them do it. This was preventable totally and did not need to happen. Its hard to tell what happened to him.
I agree- and it’s always young people. There was a tragic story in Australia where a young guy at a party was dared to eat a garden slug. He ended up being completely brain dead. It is so tragic and there will always be some person who will do something stupid.
I have watched several videos about this tragedy. Everybody’s commenting on whether or not it was a shark in the frame, but nobody is mentioning the movement. I was watching some shark footage the other day, which featured a white tip reef shark, and it struck me that it moved in a similar fashion. That poor kid, I am of the opinion that it was a shark or several. Rip Cameron. Great video by the way.
I’m pretty sure if a shark attacked him while he was close to that boat, someone would’ve heard him screaming. I can’t imagine anyone getting bitten by a shark and Not screaming their head off.
i disagree with the video saying it wasnt a big shark i think it was, right as you see the shape look at the front of it looks like it turns while opening its mouth looks fairly big to me. Also him pointing out the kid resurfacing under the nets doesnt mean he wasnt being attacked watch the Vladmir Popov videos he resurfaced several times while being attacked.
@@highjinx6519he was pulled under within seconds, and the boat was moving away, that’s why. If you look at the video analysis channels, they have changed the contrast and analyses frame by frame. You can shockingly see, very clearly, a LARGE shark head surface about 12 inches behind him, and as the camera pans away towards the buoy, you can see a white cap splash as the shark retreats under the water, taking Cameron down with him via one of his legs. About 2 seconds later the camera pans back to the exact same area and he’s gone, but you can make out a blurry figure underneath the water where he has been pulled under.
Why did some of you even click on this video? If you don’t want to listen to a literal shark scientist? If you still just want to base your evidence on your own opinion the go right ahead but that’s like going to a doctor and then saying “nah, I think I’m gonna go with what Wikipedia said.
Here's what happened according to me: the boat is in a fairly shark populated part of the sea. The films I've seen of this area in daytime are not encouraging. Boats thow raw chicken an such and the sharks, as soon as they hear the splash they are on that meal in 4 seconds. They were all at the top in numbers. I think with the sharks at the surface it a lot easier to jump down into there hunting spots. He could even have landed on one! I believe that is a shark that Cameron sees which is why he looks behind him a few times and swims the wrong way to avoid it. Unfortunately there are 30 or 40 others down there too! I believe that is a glowing eye we see a few times and I do believe it was a smaller shark that bit him on the leg. Watch his body movements. If that shark tried to take him it may have incited a frenzy. But he was absolutely swimming away from something, and that something got him on the leg. Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it ❤🦈
At 1:44 his left arm was gone Do you think he was swimming or dragged away because suddenly and quickly he was seen under the netting then completely gone.
You can hear Cameron scream twice at the 10-second mark of the video. This is at the same time when it appears a shark may have bit down on his leg and pulled him under. He is not seen after this point and one of the boys on the boat says "bye bye" at the same time, as if he sees him being attacked and dragged under.
I went back, slowed the speed down to about 50%, and turned the volume up all the way. Somebody definitely screamed more than once as if a crowd of zombies was swarming them. I don't know if it was someone farther down the rail, or from the kid himself. But a few seconds in, it's there and it comes from a place of pure terror
@@bellaapple2166 Who says they don't? They haven't spoken. At the time of Cameron's blood-curdling screams, you can hear one kid says "oh shit" and another says "bye bye." The timing is at the exact moment it appears a shark's head bites down on his legs. Too many coincidences of timing. All start at the 10-second mark. Cameron's parents asked them to stop talking about and investigating the shark attack possibility. I think they all know. Locals won't mind quashing it. Shark attacks are bad for tourism.
I think you hit the nail on the head with the first shark surfacing and his legs kicking…however, one thing people are also pointing out is that after the guy filming pans away, you never see his left arm again. You can clearly see him swimming with his right arm at the moment he kicks but his left arm is gone? And then he disappears quickly after that. I think he definitely got bit by another shark on his left arm and that at least damaged it where he had it tucked up against his body while trying to swim to the right and then gets bit again and drug under at the end. That’s the only way he would disappear so fast.
I agree. I noticed that after he's paddling in the opposite direction of the buoy and the possible shark, he's only paddling with his right arm and not using his left one at all. That's definitely odd to me, and makes me think his left arm is injured at the very least. There's also 2 very shrill screams at the very beginning of the video that makes me wonder if it's from Cameron. If so, those are the screams that make me think he definitely saw something in the water that struck extreme terror in him. And it's so weird that he went under the water in less than 30 seconds from the time he entered the water, and NEVER RESURFACED. I thought in shark attacks, there would be a lot more kicking and thrashing and splashing.
Yeah, if you look at it in infrared: there is no arm there at all - just his shoulder. The footage is grainy, but I’m certain those on the boat can see he has no arm. This was as the screaming started.
He died to sharks. I'm not sure why this is even debated. Multiple sharks were following that boat due to the sources of food. That's it. He stupidly jumped into the ocean at night and died to shark attack.
I'm appalled by how little facts it takes to convice so strongly someone, to the point of dismissing debate or any other options. You and all the others.
The shark behind him pops out of the water for a split second and dragged him down by his leg! Very clear to see then he disappears! Truth must prevail! 100% sharks took him get over it you blind people!😅
I think it’s extremely plausible (or almost certain) that sharks would follow a boat like this, stuff dropping the water, food, drinks, oil etc. they are inquisitive, and they may well have had 10 under the boat at that point
It wouldn't surprise me that the media/higher ups aren't suppressing the information being released over money/tourism/etc. The fact that the person filming stopped recording at that point seems impossible. Teens film EVERYTHING, and to have that action happening, why would this person stop recording? Just my thoughts.
Meh, it'd be only flimsy tourists that turn away from cruises after this. I doubt they're worried. The idiot essentially committed suicide with his own negligence lmao.
We had a case here in Brazil of a woman taking powder to Thailand... if you know what I mean. Our MSM first released her full call to family here. She asked them to talk with a lawyer called Edson. Later when they eventually played the video again they removed the mention to this person. We have a supreme court called by this name and she aasked for this person to help her to be jailed here... which means being free really. It was the strangest thing our MSM did. If they avoided it then it was someone important.
I think the reason people on the boat wouldn't have seen a shark is because they would have generally been focused on either the life ring or the swimmer - with all the noise and motion seeing a subtle disturbance in the water, and subsequently identifying it as a shark probably is unlikely. Not pretending to be an expert, just my opinion.
I thought the same thing but I also thought that for me, personally, if someone was in the water, at night and especially in that area, I would 100% have looked for sharks... but I am also an anxious person and worry about everything 😅
Its the bahamas at night.. theres probably 50 White-tip sharks under that boat.. if one didn't take him under a dozen more would find him before he hit bottom
I think the visibility would have been good enough for them to have seen a shark. The disturbance on the surface must be the rope. You can see his legs, clearly, so the odds of a massive shark poking the tip of it's fin out and not being at all visible seem slim.
He probably didn’t think he’d really do it! I could see saying that to someone, because it’s just so crazy you’d think no one would EVER actually do it. Like, hey, I dare you to go pet that alligator/bear/cobra. You don’t expect someone to DO it.
I think it was a tiger shark, that early wave was made from its dorsal fin thrust right before the attack on Cameron's legs, when he wanted to swim away, there is better quality video, you can watch it frame by frame, and there for a split second is clearly visible a sudden shark head behind his feet, and then he is gone, that boat was anchored and not moving, it was recorded at the ship bow, sadly he jumped into a pool of hungry sharks
you can hear clear as day two screams from the water too. second scream gets muffled as he is pulled under. commentator in the video is being literal when he says "he's gone". he saw exactly what happened.
@@andrewdinns1746 Yes, At the 10 second mark. The same time the shark head is visible and biting down on Cameron's legs. The boy on the boat yells "bye bye" as he sees exactly what is happening.
The person who recorded would definitely know if that was a shark or not. Usually small lights are positioned around the boat and from that angle person recording would have been able to see. Also strange how quickly they had the donut life saver in the water but he strangely swims away from it. Would only suggest he saw something and was swimming away not sure what to do
Maybe but swimming away from a shark is what gets you bit, if you can see the thing and make it known your aware it’s a much better situation, although I doubt it was a shark that killed him.

The shark presence is all downplayed, of course, because of tourism…
I’ve been going to the Bahamas for the last 15 years and snorkeled with reef sharks over a decade ago. I would NEVER in this day and age enter that water….
I feel awful for this kid and his family. I’m so upset that nobody on that boat seemed to panic he was in the water. I would’ve been screaming for them to lower the anchor and stop the boat.

Hello again Kris,
Did you know that during the day the crew get the children to throw food in the water for the fish? That was found on a recent Tripadvisor review. So there is documented proof that food is routinely throw into the water from this vessel.
I also read that the night booze cruise is 3 hours long, and that Cameron jumped in the water at 11:30pm, meaning they were in the last 30-45 minutes of their cruise. The crew would be dumping food scraps into the water in this area, as the currents would carry it away from the populated Bahamas Islands. I guarantee that sharks were following this ship.
oh shit...
It is quite possible indeed
Thanks for sharing!

Yes I agree, this has been minimised to protect tourism.

I have kids and I know how impulsive they can be.
exactly
Perfect comment. It's like everyone judging was never young and drunk and did something stupid. Unfortunately, in this case, he was presumably killed, either by sharks or the ocean as a whole. His friends on the boat must be feeling awful right now, and their lives are gonna change forever.
Exactly. I remember being young and stupid
You don’t have that much thought to all of the consequences until you’re older… honestly I didn’t even gain that ability until I had kids and had to realize “If I die doing something stupid my kids don’t have a mom to come home to anymore.”
It was probably just a silly dare thinking he wouldn’t do it, he (possibly being intoxicated) had the “courage” to do the dare and they probably didn’t realize how bad it was until he vanished into the night.
Exactly. And they probably didn’t think he’d actually do it. It’s so sad for everyone involved.

Tragic as the Cameron Robbins incident is, Cameron was a victim of stupidity and hubris. He died as a result of a "hold my beer" moment, similar to the man who recently was eaten by an alligator when he dove into a river drunk saying "I'm not worried about being eaten by that alligator."

And you lack any basic knowledge of Shark behavior.
I cannot hear anyone say shark or him screaming. I believe it’s a shark but don’t know where people are getting these details. Mass hallucination.
Agreed. Looks more like a large tiger shark as opposed to two smaller sharks.
The woman’s screams sealed it for me too. She’s screaming like she just saw her boyfriend get bitten in half. 😢
It’s a woman screaming from the boat.

If it was a Bull shark those buggers don't stop. But the fact he doesn't scream at all, doesn't even thrash? Not convinced. I do believe he touched something in the water and the current took him and the possibility that there was a shark close to the boat is very likely and the splash surely attracted whatever was in the water, but I also think it was the current that took him
He coukd have been pulled into the propeller?

After rewatching the original video in really slow motion, I actually changed my mind about the splashes being from his legs kicking. If you really pay attention during slow motion, you'll notice the positioning of his legs and feet and the timing of the splashes are not in sync. If you pause it just right, you'll see his legs in an odd position that doesn't really coincide with the splash, and it's quite literally a moment before he disappears from view. The fact that they called off the search, and that there's no other video surfacing (no chance this was the only person recording), both authorities and the parents have most likely determined it was a shark attack.
I think he was getting bit by sharks but only really screamed when the big one came where is his left arm after the camera pans out
I also think he got bit by the shark. It looks like a splash but it wouldn't make sense because he's been splashing from the beginning.

yeah I agree if you use hyper scrolling and look at it like a gif, his leg wouldn't have moved in a way where it could have looked like that even on a bad camera, to me it just looks like a shark bit him right at that moment. and it would fit with the timing assuming the silver blur was the shark, I think if he was going for the bite off the bat thats how long it would have taken to get to him. and the fact he legit disappears right after that almost guarantees it for me. I saw a longer version of the vid on twitter and the guy filming stands up and goes to the other side to try and film him floating away (this is after the part where we think he was bit) but he was already gone.

It is a shark, probably great white ruclips.net/video/a6Kq_yl7ewk/видео.html
You can hear Cameron let out two blood-curdling screams starting at the 10-second mark of the video. At the same time the shark snout appears.
@@annettew2298 THIS! I don't understand why this isn't talked about more. Those screams are chilling
The more I think of it, the more I can’t understand why he would swim away from the boat unless he was trying to escape something, so sad
Bullies do this to people and torment them, I think someone was envious of this beautiful young man.
Good to see you back sorry about your loss of father can't imagine what you've been going through
I have watched several videos about this tragedy.
TONS of people are commenting on the movement. 😂
Probably several. :/
Exactly, well said
Here's what happened according to me: the boat is in a fairly shark populated part of the sea. Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it ❤🦈
At 1:44 his left arm was gone
Do you think he was swimming or dragged away because suddenly and quickly he was seen under the netting then completely gone.
@@Mimi-ev3joYep dragged under by his leg by a big tiger shark...Very clear to see!😅
You can hear Cameron scream twice at the 10-second mark of the video.
So many of his school mates were watching how could they not know what happened.
@@juliezoutendam5338there won't be a lot of thrashing if there was more than one shark. And those waters are known to be shark infested
There was a pack of sharks there. We just see one, but under the water there was more… They follow the cruises, knowing that they waste food.
Yeah no
Yeah, if you look at it in infrared: there is no arm there at all - just his shoulder.
The media and this bootlicker are trying to hide the fact he was attacked and killed right on camera.
That’s a good point. It seems suspicious this video cuts off at a trivial moment and no other teen on the cruise was recording
The video has been edited. Convinced I hear a man say “Theres a fuckin shark” but u don’t hear shark it just blanks
@@rogerwilco1777 It could have been one bite, blood, then a ripping feeding frenzy on his body.
But you can somehow see it in a blurry video. Lol
What the hell kind of idiots would dare a friend to jump in shark infested water at night??? What is wrong with people??
Would only suggest he saw something and was swimming away not sure what to do
I've been trying to find eyewitness testimonials and can't find any.
@@tracieday8661 same, waiting for any of those teens to speak out. This is very strange indeed
Maybe but swimming away from a shark is what gets you bit, if you can see the thing and make it known your aware it’s a much better situation, although I doubt it was a shark that killed him.
@@tracieday8661 SAME! Where are the witness accounts?! In 2023 and nothing
