Its unexcusable murder in broad daylight and can never never be tolerated. The killer has been charged and his accomplices will be soon as well. Our shitty president hasn't helped much either, so far, I believe he should have called for a national day of mourning but regardless, George Floyd and his memory will never be forgotten. He DID NOT die in vain, his death sparked amazing peaceful protest in every major city, it made it all the way to London! George Floyd will forever be ingrained in American history but I have a really hard time connecting the dots between social justice for Mr Floyd and a group of teenagers robbing and destroying an art gallery or mall, destroying historic sights, burning churches and business of all races or setting dumpster fires. The National Guard has been deployed in 24 states, the Lincoln Memorial has been vandalized, the WWII memorial bearing my grandfather's name has been defaced. The Vietnam veterans war memorial was desecrated. Shlump, we are all on the same page, we all think it's wrong but that's my point this could have been a moment in history for unity, for real meaningful positive social change and I cringe to think that it probably set us back 30 years instead and our country is burning. I definitely dont have all the answers but throwing a Molotov cocktail into a police cruiser caring 4 men, trying to burn them alive is as far from the answer as I can think of during a peaceful protest and that happen in NY yesterday. Second a lot of these situations was a protest that turned into a riot which is why the officers are in riot gear......once a situation escalates and is deem a riot.......cops move in and clear it and a curfew is set and nobody is allowed to leave their house even adults. So if you see cops walking through a neighborhood yelling for you to get in your fucking house.......that's because they have been ordered to clear the fucking streets because a riot happened, and if you don't listen to the lawful command they are liable to shoot you, the last clip she was lucky that wasn't an actual bullet. During riots everybody that's on the street for the safety of the officers is to be deem unlawful citizens. To distinguish this they put in a curfew and order everybody to remain in their house until the riot is deemed over. Once riot officers have to come out to clear a street they're mean they don't care they aren't there to listen their job is to get you off the fucking street any way deemed necessary.
