I used napa cabbage, do you have to salt the cabbage or can I skip this step?

The salt is to draw out water. Good to do for all veggies before pickling

The amount of sugar in our recipe gives the cabbage a slight sweetness, but does not dominate/eliminate the sourness from pickling the cabbage. I find it to be just right, but feel free to adjust the sugar level up or down according to your preference. 😋

Thank you! My dishes-I-want-to-recreate-at-home list is long, but my cooking skills limited 😅

Love to pair that with fried fish, bbq, steak, or pork chops.

Here because I just ate the same bento set at a kopitiam and just had to make it at home! Thank you! 😊

Can you use Stevia instead of sugar?

Could work, for sugar is adding taste only in this case, it s not conserving, vinegar is doing that. Try and let us know how it went.

The mortar & pestle still in the box gave me a good laugh.

🤣 I got it to make one of those great Thai curry pastes, but haven't dared yet.

@@UnitedCuisines I got mine to try making Pesto and Toum but it hasn't left the cupboard. Apparently mortar & pestle pesto just tastes better, something about crushing vs slicing in a blender. I would love to see a vid on a comparison like your banana fritters one.
