I always say that EVERY camera needs a self timer!!! I have used Polaroid self timers since the 70s both peel apart and SX70 ... I was inspired by Lucas Samaras and Les Krims as a teen!!! The self timer is also awesome if you know you are making a long exposure and don't want shake!!!

I managed to get my hands on one of those vintage self timers for the SX-70 (the #132), and I found it funny that it has to manually press the shutter button instead of connecting to the remote port

Those cables and buttons are probably better than what I currently do lol. I use my sonar and have the sx-70 on a tripod, meaning I can’t move more than an arm pull away from my camera for a self-portrait!

Question on the BFC remote shutter. I just got one in the mail and was curious about long exposures. If you hold the button down, does it prolong the exposure? I accidently did that for my test selfie photo with a new (to me) SX-70 Sonar and the photo came out blurry. Wondering if it's the sonar or if I accidently moved during a long exposure. It was the last pic in the film pack and didn't want to load up another if the camera needs worked on. Thanks to anyone that can help!
