    Still love my SX-70 and happy they’re still making the film. But I sure miss the original SX-70/Time Zero film. It developed in seconds and those aqua blues and creamy highlights were out of this world.

    Once you go SX-70 you can't go back. Entirely, that is... 600 only when they bring out the sick colour emulsion stuff. Got one green left. Hungry for more. So hungry...

    I love the community around SX-70s! People want the camera to be the best it can possibly be. They've made I-type mods, wireless shutter buttons, opensx70, SX-37 filter adapters and more! There's so much opportunity with Edwin Lands proud Polaroid creation!

    i was pretty unhappy with the result of my last few SX-70 packs, but new ones arrive soon and im looking forward to having more shots turning out okay. When SX-70 film works and isn't too cold or too hot or anything like that, I love it dearly. I have two 600 cameras that are decently sharp and for gatherings or throwing a polaroid in the backpack I love those. But getting an SX-70 shot that fulfills its chemical potential creates such a beautiful image. Some of my strongest visual memories over the years have been shot on this film and im praying for Polaroid to not slowly letting it vanish for 600-type film only.
    Also I want the black border edition back! Everybody keeps talking about circled and colored frames, the black ones gave SO much contrast!! Some of my best shots.

    Would love to see a really detailed comparison between the 600 & SX-70 emulsions. It would be cool to use a 600SE or Mint SLR with manual controls, take the exact same photo in the exact same spot/lighting conditions and see how the colors compare (and do for B&W). And if you could scan them at reallllly high resolution, would love to see if it's possible to look at the differences in grain as well 🙃

      I've got both cameras lying around. Used the sx70 once (years ago) but wasn't impressed by the quality of the photos. Looking back, probably the reason was me 😆. Later I found a 600, but never bothered to test it until last week. But sadly the film is very expensive, so for now only photos on special occasions...
      A side by side photo comparison would help to understand which camera to use in what setting.

    I have to say for an average shooter the contrast differences are not extremely apparent to the point where you can just tell which film one used. However I did benefit from the higher iso of the 600 film after I had my sx70 camera converted and it basically is like an all-environment-ok beast. only used flash for backlit & extremely dark situations since.(or for the strobe look ;) )

You've proven to me that I've already got the entire greatness covered and I need not convert anything. Just shoot sx70 until they don't make it anymore! Thank you for all you do.

    Have you tested the nd filter you can add to the 600 pack to shoot in a SX-70? it then down grades the iso to SX-70 speed.

  • @tombertolotti
    @tombertolotti 2 месяца назад

    I personally prefer the SX-70 film but the 600 is way easier to find bundled or on sale... which never happens with the 70...
    I didn't mod my SX-70 but use an ND filter... it's a little annoying because when you change back you have to reapply to the film to the new pack but still works like a charm...
