Recommendation for the future - do a vid just only on the setting up of the new equipment and share the pros and cons. this will also allow you to get the attention of the manufacturer and they ...well perhaps will approach you. 2nd segment would be putting the new equipment to the test and how you feel about it.
You have a lot of fantastic sharing opportunity on your experience. Looking forward to it.

I think these boats are awesome. It will take me some time, but this is what I will buy for a dingy when I get the money. I have a 32' Freedom sailboat and this is the perfect dinghy for an older person like me. That scoop in the back makes it much easier to get in and out of the dinghy from the water. That was what clinched it for me.

I just received my True Kit Discovery from Rod and I LOVE the quality. I've paired it with a brand new Mercury 9.9 four stroke 15" short shaft. The stock prop that came with the motor makes it hard for the boat to get on the plane. If and when it does get on the plane the prop spins in the water and revs high before it catches again making the boat slow down then surge forward again, over and over. Has anyone had experience with this motor / boat combo. This all occurs with me 185 pounds, my wife 105 pounds, gas tank, bench seats and a small bucket with a few supplies.

    • @SomewhereSplorin

I’m having the same revving problem with my set up. I have a short shaft 15hp Yamaha 2 stroke which planes very quickly when 2 up. But the revving is confusing me. I don’t have a hydrofoil, which promotes earlier planing. But I’m thinking I might have to get one to fix this issue. Or a cupped prop which seams to be common advise. I’m curious if you’ve had any luck though? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with mine. Added an hydrofoil, the nose comes down quicker, but not a fix. Think I may have to lower the engine on the transom by an inch or two to give the prop more bite. Which means cutting the transom down. Anyone else have a better fix for this?

And not to be a total turd and tell you how to live your life, but if I could kindly suggest for you to maybe consider using a quality pair of sunglasses? I know its a total pain with salt spray and losing them overboard and everything else that may go wrong, but protecting your eyes is worth the hassle imo. I detached my retina when I was 12 and then had a cataract develop from the trauma and get removed when I was 13 and its a royal pain in the arse. I can't focus with my left eye anymore because of the fake lens that replaced my cataracted real one and the surgery itself was way less than fun and obviously not cheap (bless my parents for taking good care of me) Good glasses are like sunscreen for your eyes and a nice set of polarized lenses will actually significantly enhance your vision into the water on sunny/high glare days. Just my two cents, but please read into it on your own and consider it. Best of luck and enjoy the new boat!
Edit- I'm 29 and I've been living with it for 16 years and I wouldn't wish it on anyone(except a very select handful of people *cough* stalin/hitler *cough* ) Even if one's eyes get blown out at 50, one may be missing out of 30+ years of vision and fishing that could be way better/more rewarding than if they didn't get blown out.

I actually have some nice Tonics but I just never seem to wear them... iv never really been a sunglass wearer and find them distracting, especially on the kayak getting splashed... but your right I should think about looking after my eyes.👍

RoKKiT KiT you're totally right, it's definitely a pain at first, but I'll promise that once you get used to the routine, you'll wonder how you ever lived without them.

Very cool boat. However, u should consider some drain holes in that transom.
