- The new boat is here! So good to get the new inflatable True Kit Discovery up to speed and see what she can do. I'v been testing the craft and getting a feel for how to get the most out of her and its starting look really good. Can't wait to get her out on the first big adventure, camping, fishing and spearfishing this new boat will be a beast!

Recommendation for the future - do a vid just only on the setting up of the new equipment and share the pros and cons. this will also allow you to get the attention of the manufacturer and they ...well perhaps will approach you. 2nd segment would be putting the new equipment to the test and how you feel about it.
You have a lot of fantastic sharing opportunity on your experience. Looking forward to it.
100% selling my 3.6m tinny for one of these! Such an great design, I love it!!
Sceptical when I first saw it. I get it, now. I’m enjoying watching your evolution.
WOW !!!
I actually thought it was a "Thunder Cat" !!
More room, more fuel ...... Bigger Fishing Adventures !!!!
Can't wait to see you get some scales in the New Boat !!!!
Just strap a 50 hp motor to it lol
I found this video looking for a boat like yours and found one of your old videos lol. Could you do a full review of the new one including the motor you upgraded to? I would appreciate it.
I think these boats are awesome. It will take me some time, but this is what I will buy for a dingy when I get the money. I have a 32' Freedom sailboat and this is the perfect dinghy for an older person like me. That scoop in the back makes it much easier to get in and out of the dinghy from the water. That was what clinched it for me.
Holy holy moly!!! I love that thing. Looks insane. Gotta see more of that beast!!
NOICE!! BOAT, i have the same esky and it is great, haven't tried it in summer yet, but solo camping trip i got 9 days out of block ice, not party ice
That was one of the fastest and quickest unboxing video I ever watched🤪🥺😂🎣👍🛶
Mine arrives in. a week or so. Can't wait! Thanks for posting.
What boat does he have and how long
Great Boat! Looking forward to see adventures, while I‘m in the hospital for the next weeks. Greetings from Switzerland
LOVE IT how u Aussies just use an obvious box cutter to open the package . An American doing this will be whipping out his hand crafted EDC survival or tactical knife. Looks amazing... the boat and the video editing !
I guess that's why they are called bvox cutters ;)
Thats awesome, gotta get myself something like that
Nice little boat Rod. These inflatables are deceptively stable and durable. Will be much better than kayak and skiff for trips away. Could even tow the yak with you. Looking forward to see how you set it up. 👍👍
Yea I’m pretty stoked with how stable it is feels very capable 👍
@@rokkitkit How fast can these little beasts go mate?
Rig looks amazing. Epic drone shots. Your gonna have a blast with being able to bring the fam on some adventures. All the best to you mate.
Greetings from Texas! Great addition to the fleet. Can't wait to see some fishing action from it.
now thats a fishing rig if I've ever seen one
mad respect
Good news they ship to the US and comes in cheaper than one of the high end kayaks here future plans now for sure!
Congratulations on a NICE new purchase. Get out there and go camping, we all can't wait....
Loving the new drone shots mate! Been here from the beginning and it just keeps getting better, hope you blow up big you deserve it
I agree
@@professorvannostrand2194 And I agree with your agreement. I'm a recent subscriber, but this is seriously quality content
@@prescottmajette5290 since you're a recent subscriber I must warn you - watching his videos made me buy a fishing kayak. But that's not really a bad thing
@@professorvannostrand2194 haha yeah you're not wrong. I've been here since the early days too, and was always a boat/landbased guy. Have now sold the boat and own 2 kayaks, best thing I ever did
@@professorvannostrand2194 I hear you, but luckily I am all good in the boat department, no place to keep one and my brothers got a tinny I can use whenever
Only one thing I wanted to know was the HP of the motor?
Not marked. Didn’t say.
Would you up the HP if you could?
Thank you!
Shiny new things! Always exciting. Have fun, stay safe. Don't fish for shark... been there done that, didn't go well :-)
Sharks are fun imo, but I wouldn't play that game on an inflatable haha
I love the powerfisha 14 and use mine almost every weekend but uou're right about the issues the challanges it poses. It can be a bit hard placing it back on top of the car after a long trip or pulling it further from the water when camping so the tide doesnt reach it. I can't wait to see how your new boat performs on a fishing trip.
Keep us posted.
Hello RoKKiT KiT ! Congratulations,be careful at sea.Hello from Russia !
Nice set up. thanks for the info,,
I love watching your videos. So relaxing. Although I'm here at the Arctic Circle, I've tried fishing up here but only in the Summer months. I tried seal hunting in the Spring with some Inuit friends. Still -50 degrees celsius up here.
You are so COOL man!!! Are you still up in the AC?
@@raulenriquemoya6292 Thanks. I'm done since June. I've been up there for the past 16 years, downtime for me now.
This is such a visually beautiful video.. well presented.
Can’t wait for the big trip 👍
Nice boat. Enjoy it. Thanks for sharing your videos.👍
Spooked something decent @4:11. A True Kit most appropriate for a RokKit Kit's kit
Well spotted mate. Big flatty?
@@glennvandenberg3912 I'm assuming that's what it would've been. Cheers
Awesome new piece of kit Rod. Looks like it can really get up and go and handle well. Enjoy. Looking forward to an adventure on the new craft. Congratulations. Regards fro Melbourne. Cheers. Jeff 👍😀🐠🐟🛥
im so happy for you that you got the new boat that a bit better so you are not held back as much have loads of fun dude
Congrats, OVIEDO FL
67K subscribers and 76K views. Clearly you are making interesting videos and I'm always surprised you don't have more subscribers. Hope you get a lot more soon! Thanks for making and sharing this!
Feel great
love your content...... My dad owned a 8 passenger zodiac with a mercury engine for about 6 months, and got rid of it for a baby grand piano!!!!! I wish at that time i knew better i would've bought if from him.... most people think i'm a guy..... nope I'm a girl that love fishing.....
Hey Rod. I been following you for a couple of years now. Seen you evolve from kayak to skif to small boat. Always exited to see the next adventure. Hope you will still do kayak days. That said I can't wait to see you rock this baby. Tight lines mate.
will never give up the kayak👍
Fantastic new boat Sir,
Looking forward to seeing more of it too.
Would be great with a "Drag it out of the back and setting it up" video
Seems like every Aussie I hear talk, works in the phrase "bits and pieces" into their conversation. :-)
thanks so much bro, your videos are really helping me get ideas to get myself back out into the wild, your a diamond!!!
Looks fantastic. Super keen to see your next fishing trip with the new boat.
Remarkable how much filmography without a mention of models, boat and motor. Devoid of specifications, addons, setup, inflation and unpacking !
A veritable desert of usable information. !
Little did he know a marlin would skewer it soon thereafter. Fortunately he was carrying his repair kit! :D
Very nice. Enjoy it.
Wicked setup Rod! Love the idea of being able to deflate it and pack it away in the car and at 35kg it would be easy to manage.
Can't wait for the camping adventure vid!
This makes me want to get one and go camping now dude! 😂😂😂Flip thats sick!
Well done Rod, glad for you man!
Can't wait to see the next video 🙌
Nice mate, can't wait to watch all your future adventures in this awesome boat...🛥👌🏾
Awesome video RodKITKIT !! I love the New Boat RodKITKIT !! Thanks for the videos RodKITKIT !! Keep up the amazing work RodKITKIT !! And Thanks for putting you hard work into these videos for us RodKITKIT !! Cheers William !!
Very cool looking new boat. Congrat's
Can you mount a bimini top on the Aircat?
In principle yes, but how is the stability? There is a risk of the boat capsizing when the wind is strong. However, the bimini top should only be set up when anchoring (shading). What is your opinion?
Wow that’s awesome Rod, great bit of kit. Soooo looking forward to your next vid. Loved the drone shots by the way
Will have to take you for a spin 👌
RoKKiT KiT so keen👍 Looking forward to seeing the vid from your trip, that’s the sort of thing Lavonne and I want to do.
Happy to see u having bigger boat. Gl
Excellent Rod. Looks like the beginning of a new era.
Well done mate.
Awesome, Rod! She looks a treat👌 It'll add a whole new dimension to your fishing trips & those extended camping epics. Looking forward to seeing it unfold.
I just ordered my 330 today, i have a 6hp yamaha 4 stroke that i hope will be able to push us along.
How does she work?
I love your new toy Rod. Fantastic piece of gear. Makes for more great videos mate. I was impressed with the stability in the tight circle shots from the drone. Impressive stuff. I can see many more videos coming up soon.
Use safety lanyard or a proximity switch! Every captain should be using one.
I am
Great, I couldn’t see it. Good man!
Mini thunder cat is a nice boat
Watch a few thunder cat racing videos u will notice the sit at the back when it’s calm and the wind tunnels under the wing deck and creates less drag
Really like the new rig can't wait to see what is next always enjoy your vids. Have a good weekend and stay safe Jimmy from Massachusetts
Congrats on the new boat. I cant wait to see it in new videos!
Great bit of kit.
Cool boat
It's really a good boat, a really good design
The front curves on the boats makes a nice bed 🤔🤙 .keep it up
haha, I thought the same thing the first time I blew it up😆 if you had a tarp over it you could. just camp in it. Might even give it a go 👍
Very nice visuals, very happy for you. She is a beauty ! Please don't ditch the 'yak.
Looking forward to the camping and fishing vid with the new duck.
First one this afternoon 5pm👍
Are there any performance advantages to these inflatable cat types when not planing?
It's beautiful m8!
Truly at ease on this one.
#StaySafe legend
Cheers m8!
I just received my True Kit Discovery from Rod and I LOVE the quality. I've paired it with a brand new Mercury 9.9 four stroke 15" short shaft. The stock prop that came with the motor makes it hard for the boat to get on the plane. If and when it does get on the plane the prop spins in the water and revs high before it catches again making the boat slow down then surge forward again, over and over. Has anyone had experience with this motor / boat combo. This all occurs with me 185 pounds, my wife 105 pounds, gas tank, bench seats and a small bucket with a few supplies.
I’m having the same revving problem with my set up. I have a short shaft 15hp Yamaha 2 stroke which planes very quickly when 2 up. But the revving is confusing me. I don’t have a hydrofoil, which promotes earlier planing. But I’m thinking I might have to get one to fix this issue. Or a cupped prop which seams to be common advise. I’m curious if you’ve had any luck though? Thanks in advance.
* I have a discovery 330
You should get a scale and lift the front of the boat to see how much it weighs when you wheel it around
Will check it out👍
Hey Rod, another fantastic upload! been watching your videos for a long time and watching your channel grow, appreciate the effort and time you put into this with your busy life 🤙
Thanks for the support mate 🏆
Great little boat how cool is that enjoy cheers.
Hey, great channel, its getting me fired up for summer post lockdown.
Our next dinghy for our sailboat
Nice stuff Rod, keep doing your thing! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Dude such a huge fan! All the respect in the world to you. Please keep up with the gear videos!! Definitely like hearing the input. All of your knowledge helps me out
Hello RoKKit Kit! You are a legend my man! Always looking for ways to get small mobile boats on the water and you keep bringing out the best I’ve seen! Keep up the good work
Felicitaciones por la nueva embarcación... Saludos desde Trelew Chubut Argentina
I was going to say it looks like a little Thundercat! Sick!
Hey RodKITKIT !! I love the Boat but since you said it is inflatable and light I would keep your new boat away from Marlins others wise it could sink if the marlin pops it !! Thanks for the videos RodKITKIT!! I love the videos RodKITKIT !! Cheers William !!
It's crazy I'm just now seeing this comment because i just watched a video where a marlin did pierce his boat... Thank God for the patch kit 😂
After a year of use what do you think of the boat how does it handle
Hey Rod, Such great content on your vids, I enjoy them muchly, I.m getting back the hunger for fishing again as a result of watching you mixing it up out there. Great job and keep it up.
Cheers Mark👍
I like the inflatable boat I can easily own
You should install a kayak seat and a cushion on top of the esky for comfort on long trips
Cool boat. Swamp that thing in a wave and game over. Would be a death trap in PNW swells!
With the open transom at the back and the pontoons holding the deck higher then the water level the water drains straight out the back, like a lifesavers boat. My new boat has an even bigger drain so it’s pretty much unswampable👍
Looks like a normal transom to me, plus the water wouldn’t just flow past that cooler (esky)? Personally I’d be super worried about cresting a wave and going nose first into the next one at least with that setup
G'day Rod this is Chris here in Sydney. I just bought one of these True Kit Discoverys. Looking forward to unpacking it as soon as it arrives. I went for the red color. 😊 This is my first boat. So pretty excited. Anyways I'm looking to purchase a motor. Perhaps I might go with a new Suzuki.
In your opinion should I go for a 10 or 15 hp? I can't decide.
I'm trying to decide on a 10 or 15hp too, any luck in your decision?
Nice boat Rokkit perfect for what you need and i really like the wheels of the back makes it very mobile. Looking forward to some big fish action from you in the near future, be careful out on the water.🐠🐡
Congrats! that's one sweet boat.
this looks like the perfect rig to drop crab pots up here in norcal. small enough to throw on my truck bed too! i spend too much money after watching this channel lol. all the best rod! have fun👍🏼
35kg Weight is nuts I have a 3.8m aluminium floor inflatable and it’s 84kg.. so much hard work to get it ready for the water...
Nothing beats the stability of these boats though..
Wat a great looking set up as always good to see your adventures an exploration.
Very cool boat. However, u should consider some drain holes in that transom.
yep water drains at the base of the transom, I probably should have shown that👍
@@rokkitkit they are great boat designs. We used to race them in South Africa. Very fast!!!
You need to send me one and we will document every river in the USA
Yeah, Rod! Send A BOAT to a STRANGER who lives on ANOTHER CONTINENT because he asked for it ON THE INTERNET. Sounds like a great idea! 👍
that drone shot is sick!
I really want to strap a 50 hp motor to one of these like a thundercat lol
It’s a cool looking boat but I would be worried about fishing in it not so much about getting a hook in the side but pulling a fish onto it might spike it have a look at the porta boat range they are fold up tinys and are awesome.
Should be fine, I’ll just need to be careful when handling fish etc. lots of people fish from inflatables👍
Hi Mate, great boat, I've gone from wanting to buy a Stealth kayak, to the Microsoft, but then I've got two young kids and no place to stow a boat, so decided looking at inflatables including this one and just ended up buying a Kaboat 470XL which should be delivered any day now. In process of buying a outboard -9.9hp4stroke. Maybe I will see you out there once I'm setup as I'm also on the GC. Enjoy
Can't wait to see ya catch some big Spanish. Looks cool wondered what happened to the other skiff. That water looks awesome. God bless you
New toys are the best!..............
How well does it drain if caught in some rain and splash?.
