BaarakAllaahu feek just a correction on رب it doesn't take the meaning of التمني which you mentioned it is used for التكثير والتقليل. And it is specific to the النكرة so the example you use رب علي because علي is a معرفة that example is incorrect and not allowed in the arabic language. وفقنا الله وإياكم
