    It would be helpful to know how well it worked. Was there a solid signal and good connection access to the Internet and how it worked with multiple devices connected, speed etc. That's the most important part but was really good until then, prob one of the best ive watched a few today. Was hoping for this information though. 🙏

      EE is pretty good for most places. My preference for service providers for long term stable connectivity would be EE then Three. Then undesired but last resort would then be Vodafone and finally O2.
      I've got a house running off one of those EE routers with an EE SIM. Works well and gets tens to a hundred megabit per second with a directional aerial. Elsewhere the EE router (after being network unlocked) with a Three SIM seems to have a problem with timeouts loading pages but I've fixed that by tunneling everything through a VPN for that business.

    I want to buy a second hand model. Would you recommend the 4GEE home broadband model 1 or 2 or 3? I can’t find any comparisons.

      Not a clue. I just used to buy the one which looks like the one in the video. Though these days I'd probably buy something different, while it's a good router there are much better ones out there now.

    Prior too this both Orange and T-Mobile stood separate in the market place

    Hello .. nice video . How much did you pay per month. ?

    • @freename
      @freename  3 года назад

      I currently pay Plusnet £6 per month for 4GB of data. They are based on EE and the SIM works in the EE router. Though if I wanted "unlimited" I'd likely go direct with EE on a 1 month / 30 day rolling plan.

    Does this need landline to work

    • @freename
      @freename  2 года назад

      No, this takes mobile data from an SIM and turns it into WiFi or through the network cable to a computer. No land line / fixed line broadband service required.

    What sort of speeds do you get on this device

    • @freename
      @freename  2 года назад

      Depends on the area. Most places 30mbps or so. One place I get a reliable 100mbps with a directional aerial in the loft.

      @freename I have been bamboozled by this router EE/BT sent me. There was a sim card separate that I tried to put in but won't go. A nano sim card it is. Network light keeps red. I've tried factory reset too.

    as this box does not have 5G sim card 5g available as far as i know

    • @freename
      @freename  2 года назад

      The router doesn't have 5G capability. A 5G SIM will probably work in it but only at 4G.

      @@freename ok do u know any good antennas to get for this for indoors and also any good antennas which are also 5g ready so could put on another box i like the look of the new 5gee battery one but that only sims u have one antenna adapter port instead of 2

    • @freename
      @freename  2 года назад

      @@swiftdetecting I have..
      One location with that directional antenna outside on a tree.
      One location with the directional antenna mounted inside a loft.
      One location with the directional antenna mounted on a pole on their wall outside. - (This one has a Three pay as you go SIM in it.)
      One location where the directional antenna made speeds worse so the router is just nailed high up on their wall with no antenna.
      The next install I am doing will be a Three SIM with the EE router and I still need to see if a directional antenna will be better than the router on it's own.

    How do I attach antennas?

    • @freename
      @freename  Год назад +1

      Take out the plastic plugs and then screw the connector on. It gets a bit difficult because the connector is recessed so make sure you get your fingers right in to tighten it up (or use needle nose pliers).
