Great song. The video quality was also very good. I would have loved to see Ian Anderson come hopping onto the stage to play the flute solo. I agree that the camera work was not good. Only showed a couple seconds of the flute player while he was playing his solo. Great musicianship but lousy camera work.
I got their first album because I'm a huge Ian Anderson fan and also a Blackmore fan of course. Although it's an enjoyable album, I think I was prejudiced by Night's unbelievable looks. No way could she be much of a musician, I thought. But these videos sound SO much better than that 1st album, I'm going to have to get my brain adjusted. She's in Annie Haslam's league and has a commanding presence. The band is tight and powerful. I gotta catch up and get the rest of their output.
I have the Past Times With Good Company CD, recorded live in The Netherlands. Play Minstrel, Play sounded much better there. Wish I could see who the violinist was for that performance. That's a person who'd give Charlie Daniels a run for his money without breaking a sweat. The part played on the flute was done with violin there, it's a difficult piece to play, and is really good. I'm dying to see a concert in person. I'd be able to die a happy man.
wonder who wrote the lyrics..either way she spits the realness, and sounds great as if this band has been exclusively touched by the gods and given the gift of amazing sound
What's with every show recorded studiously avoiding showing the flute player working his magic fingers off??!! Also. I need the flute sheet music as Ian Anderson played it on their first album. And I need it now.
Blackmore rules forever!!!
They are so, so wonderful! Blackmore's Night, Brazil loves you! lol
This was good. Ian Anderson played on the studio recording. Very nice.
Flute part is fantastic, and Ritchie's party fits the melody so well, not to mention flute :)
@wilderny If you can find the money, buy the CD. There´s a live version with Ian Anderson playing the flute. MAGIC!!!
Выдающаяся композиция, великолепная аранжировка, отличное концертное исполнение. Браво, маэстро Блэкмор!
that's magic!
Same. I'd have never come across them unless I'd heard that Ian did the flute for one of their songs.
They're pretty awesome though.
Really great. Fantastic
Love You Ritchieee
Wow, incredible

My fav's BN song! I’m 11 years old and did some blackmore’s night guitar covers. If you wanna check ‘em out…. Cheers from France.
The piper was there 40 years ago, waiting for Ritchie to come to the end of the rainbow.
wow, the live version is actually better than the recorded one. :))

Awesome Music! If anyone got some suggestions to similarly themed, songs especially or groups I'd love to hear some suggestions =)
@Nynorsk It is the keyboardist who plays the piper...
Без Яна Андерссона на флейте песня теряет очень многое((
The solo flute is originally played by Ian Anderson
No shit...
saucy tart candice
take me from earth

those back up singers are hot!
@maniandpink jethro tull or ian anderson played on this song originally
Bombshell
great, but it would be nice to see ian anderson doing the song with them
Ritchie must get wood every time he listens to her
hand clubs is synth
I hear a flute taking center stage at around four minutes. Not sure if that's the guy you're looking for though
I'm curious, do the [male] backup singers just use a quieter tone or does her voice just suppress them?
Is there a live version featuring Ian Anderson as a guest??
@magilord100
No, they are musicians ;)
really? lol wow that's awesome!
Where's Ian Anderson's flute!?!
I just want to know, how he looks 40-45, but hes close to 70!!
