Thanks for the comparison. Was curious to see the differences.
you're welcome! Jab will be next (whenever he arrives, hope you stick around to see it)
Jawesome! Love the review, thumps up for the content.
thank you! plenty more to come!
Very good! I’m really excited to get my wave 1 set tomorrow! It’s good to have street sharks back and like you I hope we get past the initially revealed figures. I mean they HAVE to at least finish 94 wave 1 with Slobster yeah?
Btw overall I’d say 2024 feels like an upgrade in all the right ways but I think the 90’s version is still so charmingly sculpted haha. Love the toy color too
according to the packaging, wave 1 is only the 3 figures, with wave 2 rumored to be Slammu, streex and dr paranoid. surprised slobster wasn't included but hopefully in a future wave with moby lick, mantaman or even rox.
just thinking about it is making me really excited. and then there's that other character who never had a toy which was the acrobat swordfish w/e his name was.
right now JAB has been on back order tho i ordered them all together so whenever he comes ill have a review up at some point! enjoy your figures, you'll love it cos i def do!
Love the new channel ShArk! And I agree about to colors. If anything, I’d argue the new color is more toyetic.
thank you! this channel feels so refreshing already and only 1 video in i feel good. I'll have a jab review out soon hopefully
Just got mine! I can't bring myself to open it but I will 100000% get Big Slammu
the packaging was so good i didn't want to open mine either but, as an out of box collector, it was also worth it ha
Dude yes finally. Thanks for the side by side
you're welcome! Jab is next, unfortunately they delayed him for me, so hopefully you enjoy that review too whenever he arrives
@@TheRetroShark hey as far as weight goes... Is the new one as heavy or heavier than the original 1994 one?
Can't decide on collecting the new one or chasing an older set
Great review!
as someone who owns both, ill share my thoughts.
the new ones are only $25 and more detailed, articulated and cartoon accurate (atleast the ones released so far)
the older ones are FAR more pricier especially if you want good condition, but the quality in the older figures can be brutal depending who owned them but more studier compared to the new ones
Jab review will be out soon depending whenever the backorder gets fulfilled
@TheRetroShark just ordered 2 lets see how they go, great review 👍
That's awesome I'm waiting for mines to come in as well I can't wait
I was suppose to get Jab with ripster but they sent it separately and then jab was in backorder. now i have to wait but will have a review of him regardless so I'm excited
There is another version of him that I remember where he bit a broken gun and you had to pull his arm down to bite.
i think that one is called ravenous ripster
Jawesome review!!!!! 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈
thank you! more to come!
I thought it was the exact same figure with slight touch up boy was i wrong 😅
in some ways yes, but in other, the articulation is better, more accurate to the cartoon and overall, i think they did a great job. my Jab figure got backordered so hopefully i have a review of him at some point
I got mine this week 2. I love it. I am worried about how thin the rubber feels though. So you really think the rubber skin is as sturdy as the originals? I don’t have any vintage ones for comparison.
lucky! my jab got delayed otherwise i'd have a review on him by now, otherwise i do believe the skin is a bit more thinner compared to the original. my only concern is i hope the rubber overtime doesn't go out, cos the 90s one tho thicker, the skin peels and discolors
No fucking way man holy shit 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😢😢😢😢😢
90s overload. hopefully my jab will come at some point for a review and comparison too
If I remember correctly the figures came out first and then the show. Which is why the characters look different in the show.
makes sense! thanks for the info
Wow when looking at it, I had no idea they changed it so much from the original until you showed them side-by-side. I guess Mattel managed to capture how we remembered them, rather than how they actually were.
very true! i was under the impression of them looking really similar to the old ones but they not only did that but elevated it to cartoon accurate so that's a win
I just bought Jab, and the material they used for the packaging feels different, more flimsy, to the ones back in the 90s. Or am I wrong? Overall great figure, I want them all.
Lucky he came for you, still waiting on mine. I'll have a comparison video with my thoughts whenever it comes in if you're still interested. But i do believe with ripster at least, the rubber is a little more thinner and his legs can be a little loose the more you try to pose him and move his legs.
it doesn't say "1 (ONE) bite", it says "I bite"
ah i see. thanks! as bob ross says - no mistakes, just happy accidents
Not so excited... They should just release the exact 1996 mouldings, what a waste!
understandable, perhaps they still will, but can't go wrong with a little update
@@TheRetroShark they still gonna able to sell the retro sharks edition at highest price in market. Mattel just join them by making the Collector's start again from pawn to Jaws 😅 better they create more new characters 🐋🐬🐠🐡🐙🐢🐸🐊🐧🐻❄️
I dont like the ginics of the fin and the titso it does limit the possbility by a lot especially if you eant to pose it wth the open jaws
i did wish maybe they'd have an ab crunch for an updated look but it pays respect to the vintage one, so it works
