    Great video man. It's nice to see more people call out Feige for his contribution to the MCU's decline and pointed out great points as to why he's at fault. But I'd like to add that Kevin Feige was never the key architect of the MCU. It was Ike Perlmutter and the Marvel Creative Committee.
    The Marvel Creative Committee (MCC) was made to ensure every movie was good or at least decent and consistent, and the characters were likable. The MCC had people like Ike Perlmutter, James Gunn, Jon Favreau and Joss Whedon and even actual Marvel comics writer like Brian Michael Bendis.
    Feige had to answer them, specifically the Marvel Entertainment boss Ike Perlmutter. Perlmutter made sure that movies that were made involved characters who people would love, could sell toys and their own comics sold well. And Perlmutter made sure that nobody went over budget so Feige's fix it in post attitude wouldn't go overboard.
    The problem came when Perlmutter wouldn't let him greenlight Captain Marvel and Black Panther, because Perlmutter didn't see how he could make a solid movie out of them. So Feige complained to Bob Iger and Iger split Marvel Studios off of Marvel Entertainment so Feige had to answer to Alan Horn (head of Disney's film division) instead of Perlmutter. Then Feige ascended the ranks and became head of Marvel overall and Perlmutter was fired.
    And you can see that in the output. Phases 1-3 was the all the MCC and Perlmutter's work. What does the MCU look like with Feige let loose and free to do anything? Look no further than Phase 4 and 5.
    Then after Feige gained control, he hired a bunch of yes men and hired people based on DEI and diversity reasons. She-Hulk had an all female writing team not because they were good, but because She-Hulk is a woman, so only women should write the show. Then those people make such unwatchable trash, that he then decides to spend weeks of reshoots to try and salvage something as you mentioned in the video.
    So in short, Feige is a fraud who took credit for other's success and got rid of the actual geniuses behind the MCU and burned everything to the ground. With the exception of Spider-man no way home, Guardians 3 and Deadpool, they have not had a billion dollar hit since Endgame. They only way to fix this is for Feige to go or to put him in check.
    PS. Thought I'd just put this out here but people who say it's Disney's fault marvel is bad like to blame Bob Chapek for pushing too many projects, but it's actually Bob Iger himself who did it, and Iger likes to blame Chapek for mistakes he made.

    I was always under the impression that Feige’s success was merely a manifestation of his ability to follow orders made by Marvel Entertainment’s CEO, Ike Perlmutter
    The biggest reason the MCU succeeded was because Ike (and his friend Avi Arad) were toy guys that also had a hand in the merchandising & comics side of Marvel, which is why Marvel Studios was founded after he came into play around the late 90s. Everything movie-wise was under Perlmutter’s purview, before and after the MCU.
    Until Feige, under the impression that HE was the reason that the MCU succeeded, decided to commit an act of subterfuge in order to get his dream movie (Captain Marvel) off the ground. He went directly to Disney CEO Bob Iger and lobbied to get himself installed in a position of true leadership. This was the reason why that planned Inhumans movie was turned into a show since Perlmutter was demoted and basically put into a back room until Iger could fire him.
    It makes even more sense once you see just how Perlmutter is now working with fellow investors to get control of Disney away from Iger

      Wow that’s interesting, I wasn’t fully aware of all the dealings behind the scenes.
      Feige is definitely getting exposed nowadays, seems his success in the early days was more and more as a result of the people he had around him, and now that those people are no longer as competent, the MCU is struggling 😬.

      Perlmutter wanted the Inhumans to be a show, and he wanted as cheaply made as possible.

    • @yeez13
      @yeez13 2 месяца назад

      @@magnum9588 I’ve heard that explanation in the press, but if you consider that Inhumans originally was meant to be released just before Avengers Endgame in the Phase 3 release slate…you start to wonder why he suddenly “wanted it to be a show”.
      It wasn’t because he thought it would be better as one, but because he was badmouthed by Feige to Iger and his position within Marvel Entertainment was erased in favor of having him work under Marvel Television (headed by writer Jeph Loeb) and told that the ONLY WAY he could have Inhumans come out at all was to have it be a show.
      Then, because Iger nor Feige wanted the show to begin with…they made it as cheaply as possible and sent it out there to wither and die on the same vine as Agents of SHIELD and the other Marvel Television pilots did on national television 🤷🏽‍♂️
      We know all of this now in hindsight since Perlmutter has since spoken up about the details of his removal and the underhandedness of which they all went about it.

      @yeez13 2 месяца назад +1

      @@telltayle I’m surprised you didn’t mention Victoria Alonso in here since she was also once pivotal to the success of the MCU…until Ike Perlmutter “left”…and, with him, his plans for the future 🤷🏽‍♂️
      She was head of the VFX Department and was kind of an unsung hero for a long time until she and Kevin began to put their ideas for where the MCU should go into play. In particular, she’s the reason why there’s such a focus on “mantles” (aka new heroes taking over for the old ones) and this notion that viewers will “eat up whatever they spit out/throw up on the screens”.
      She was quietly let go in the beginning of 2023 because of how her conduct in the press was reflecting on Marvel Studios as a whole + how her exploitative tactics with other VFX Studios have essentially driven most of them away from working on MCU Projects

      Also you’re ignoring his previous works before the mcu
      and I can’t imagine a bunch of 45+yo exagtives writing and fabricating stories like what we have seen before

    Phase 1 directors gave interviews saying they saw a plan for movies up to 2030. I don't think it was what we see nowadays. By Infinity War, Feige decided to move the MCU away frrom what made it: good scripts for developed characters that we grow to care about..
    He adopted the pdoMickey MO. Go Woke.
    The Russos interviews gave a glimpse of what was going on behind the scenes with Feige trying to make Cap Marvel a main thing in Endgame.
    The Black Widow movie should have been about something to start the new saga, which could be Kang or the Scarlet Witch.
    Wanda's treachery could have been hidden until before an Avengers team up to battle her.
    He went from hiring competent people to... well... no script for Blade after 5 or 6 writers attached to the project.
    We are still quoting things said along the MCU to this day... and this puts a smile on my face😂. Then, the MCU lost its perfect balance to be what it is today.

    I don't think it was Kevin at all, I think Kevin like all "CEOS" are subject to a board of directors that make decisions behind the scenes Feige is just the face of Disney/Marvel he doesn't run anything outside of Bob Igor's reach. How many times have we heard directors under NDAs illude to the STUDIO interfering with their work? Maybe I'm a genius or I'm just using critical thinking to read between the lines. Doesn't make logical sense considering Kevin gave us the first three phases why would he randomly make a dramatic 360 and lose money? The answer is: he didn't he's at the mercy of Disney's board the last thing documented to be within Kevin Feige's full control was Spider-Man 3 (I'd say Guardians 3 but technically that was made years before Spider-Man 3 was even written) Disney is interested in politics because right now whether you like it or not that's the biggest thing going on in our media in general from feminism to the LGBTQ and the only people interested in gaining publicity to boost their stocks over a product is the company itself not Kevin, he doesn't even have that kind of power anymore it's all but transparently obvious that Igor is holding Kevin hostage via contract out of spite after Kevin voted him out and took his majority shares I know you all remember the announcement of Kevin running Disney a few years back well that what that was. You don't gain control of a company without board votes clearly the company at the time wanted Igor out and Feige in now unhappy with Feige wanting to continue with what he was doing they removed him to placed Igor there because he has made it perfectly clear that he does not care about anything superhero related so long as it makes him money. Remember this is the same man that wanted to scrap Black Panther and refused Robert Downey Jr. Feige and Favreau had to fight for him against the board to make him Iron Man. Feige is just the easy fall guy that's how being the face of a company works when it does well you're a hero when it does poorly you're a villain... ironically poetic.

    While you may have some good points, a lot of your points are either stupid or opinionated.
    16:30 While you praise the Russo brothers for doing Community, for some reason you shame on the directors listed in this segment for just doing tv episodes that rated fairly well from 7/10 to 9.5/10.
    22:40 Planning for reshoots doesn’t mean the movie will be awful. It’s just preparing for the worst that way the studio can do their best(even though some of the stuff in recent years has not been their best).
    25:04 Kevin Feige probably did not have that much involvement with She-Hulk, as he was being stretched thin between multiple television series and theatrical films, developing his now-cancelled Star Wars project, and trying to map out the future of the MCU.
    25:58 Captain Steve Rogers’ romance with Peggy Carter was a major thread throughout Steve’s story within the MCU, so it would make sense that it was one of the main things that they wanted.
    30:50 Fantastic Four is only getting started now because the rights from Constantin Films have only lapsed now(Fox only was borrowing the film rights from another studio)
    33:02 Throughout this video you keep using the term “fraud”, which makes you come off as a parody of someone with actual grievances and problems with the way things are, rather than you seeing like your takes are genuine and serious.

    • @telltayle
      @telltayle  2 месяца назад +1

      I think given the nature of the video, a video in which I state the reasons why I believe Kevin Feige is largely responsible for the abysmal state the MCU is currently in, my points were always going to be opinionated. As for stupid, well I guess that’s your opinion, and that’s cool 🤷🏻‍♂️.
      Regarding your points:
      1. I’m assuming you’re referring to Jeff Loveness as I showcased ratings from his Rick & Morty episodes that weren’t terrible, and I specifically say “varying in quality”. In other words, he’s hit and miss, and hence may not be the best employment choice as a writer.
      2. I do state in the video that reshoots are okay. But Feige’s nonchalant attitude towards planning for reshoots before principal photography has taken place, almost allows the script to not be as tight as it should be, which can in turn cause many problems down the line.
      3. Regardless of however much involvement he had with She Hulk, he quite clearly didn’t put the right people in the right seats. I recognise he was stretched thin, but his name is still on the product, so he’s signed off on it. And for that he deserves part of the blame.
      4. I don’t outwardly say that the decision they made was a bad one regarding the ending of Cap’s story, just that it was a controversial one, and may have needed a bit more cooking to satisfy the majority of the fan base.
      5. I’m not entirely clued up on the Fantastic Four film rights, and doing some research it seems a bit hazy. Nevertheless, I could make the same point about Blade, which was also announced in 2019, and has been going through pre-production hell and STILL isn’t even close to being ready to shoot.
      6. I mean, that’s one interpretation of the word. Some of these writers and directors are clearly not as talented or competent as they may think; hence fraud. Naturally I’m disappointed with the current state of the MCU as I’ve made a 40+ minute video on the matter, and so it’s a shame that it may not come across as genuine to you.
      Appreciate the comment nonetheless, hope you enjoyed the video to some degree 🙂
