i think its just something in asian culture where its more like actions speak louder than words. like its weird for me to say "i love you" to either of my parents. i dont think my parents have ever told me that either haha, it just feels weird.

My family is similar. I'm the only girl in my family but I always have to say I love you to my parents (if I don't they will pester me about it) while my brothers don't have to. Though the reason it's hard for them to say I love you is because they don't ever say it and they are no longer children in their own eyes (18 and 22).
I am a girl, new generation, but it still holds true. I never have really said "love you Dad" but it goes without saying. Exactly! Maybe cuz I'm Asian too though. Indian actually. That's still Asian right?
i relate hard to the ily thing. i cant say i love you w direct eye contact, straight face, etc.. i always hv to say i love u in a weird voice or say it real fast like "lub u", idk my family and i love each other its just awkward to say i love u
