Hi Everyone,
In this video we'll go through how to turn on Forced Fan from the Outdoor Unit Board (Service Mode Setting 5), and we'll also discuss the steps required to reset the addresses from the Outdoor Unit once all indoor units have been properly connected/powered.
One of the most common issues during start-up is there are 1 or more indoor units not communicating with the outdoor unit upon power-up. This is often because the power did not get applied to said unit(s) or the communication wire was not installed correctly.
This video will help you determine which indoor units are not communicating (which ones did not receive an address from the outdoor unit), and then how to reset the addressing once you've fixed the issues.
Disclaimer:
This is not a training, nor is this a factory authorized or sponsored class. I wanted to break down from experience some of the meat and potatoes, the important Do's and Do-Not's when designing and installing Daikin VRVS systems. My goal is to share the information I've learned over the years, and help share/translate some of the information from the installation and operation manuals that's often overlooked, thrown away, or simply not understood. Through these videos my hope is that I can help make your installation go a little smoother.

Thanks everyone for watching! I hope you all have an awesome day!
Another great video. Thank Dana.
Thank you! Wrapped up editing on episode 14 tonight, got lots in the pipeline!
Hey Dana
Where are all the videos?
I hade to take down my videos I'm sorry
Great videos Dana! I haven't come across a video over the condensate pumps. I'm curious what issues you've run into with them and the solutions you've found.
Biggest issues are wiring in the float switches. Check out the video I did on a3 error codes where I go into some of the more common issues and how to properly wire them in.
Hello Dana
Thanks for your great videos
Do you know why the vrv 3 system display only h4p solid
Thanks again for your hard work
Is it 3 phase or single phase (what's the outdoor model)
Hi Dana , thanks for your support. Just a question on how to go on the run test mode after replacing the Main control PCB on vrv 3 systems
From h3p only light on hold test button until 2 and 7 come on. That signifies test has started.
Im am going to replace main controll pcb maybe next week for VRV 3.
i know i have to copy the dip switch setting on manual, but i wanna ask something that confuses me.
Is it necessary to conduct test mode?
i mean ,can i just go directly to let the indoor run and set to cool mode waiting for the compressor to kicks in?
@@johnnyroxannebautista2063 you will have to run test operation.
@@InverterAlways thank you.
noted on this sir
Hello Dana /
i wanna ask something.
I know this is out of topic cause i can't find a video of yours with regards of my concern.
Im doing VRV 4 with the thermostat of BRC1C62.
But i found out that the fan speed of indoor is Low and High only.
L ,H,HH
Do you have any idea how to set that?
Usually there is a fan speed button on the controller.
My daikin with 4 headers stop working the condenser displays oooo headers are blowing hot air and on/off switch is blinking what should I do there was a storm a week ago and all was working fine your thoughts. Gowkarran
Whats the code on the stat blinking?
HELLO , is this manipulation for the forced fan doable on the VRV III modules ? i have U2 and some times U4 errors .
Yes, mode 2 (Service mode) setting 5 on all vrviii and later systems. I'd be willing to bet it's on the really old vrv2 systems as well but those are from before my time so I cannot confirm.
Also u2 is power related most of the time. Add a phase monitor icm450 (I think), you want power to get removed for at least a minute any time there are bumps or surges. It acts as a surge protector as well.
@@InverterAlways I tried to go forthe forced fans but ... nothing works , with remote on and off both cases doesnt work . even the reset ( bs5 for 20 seconds ) doesnot reset the system , i wanted to reset to link one only interior unit with a new adapted communication wire then try to check for the reason , but it doesnt reset . thank you for the response

Very helpful video but hindi language please 🙏😂❤️
That is going to be tough. I will keep it in mind if I ever get someone to translate everything.
Daikin still using Binary settings the biggest pain in ass
1980s tech
It may be old but it's actually pretty fast once you learn it. And one of the best things about it is being able to change stuff on the fly no power down needed. Other brands are still using dip switches which requires power to the system to be shut off which takes way longer than just simply adjusting a binary setting. Other brands also require laptops to be plugged in to make setting changes while Daikin does not. From a time on the job perspective, at least in my experience, Daikin is way faster with their binary format. And again once you learn how to navigate it, it's quite simple.
Useless as always.
Forced fan? It's quite helpful in many situations. What's useless about it?
