- Johns Hopkins and Penn State played an instant classic lacrosse game in the Big Ten Tournament Finals on Saturday night. Hopkins held an early lead, gave the game back to Penn State in the second half. Hopkins battled back to force sudden death but Mac O'Keefe's overtime goal, his 6th of the contest, gave Penn State the victory and the Big Ten Tournament Title.
O'Keefe finished the game with 6 goals and 2 assists. Teammate Grant Ament was good for 2 goals and 4 helpers. Joey Epstein led all scorers on the day with 7 goals and 2 assists.

I didn't start watching a lot of D1 lacrosse until recently, despite having played lacrosse for five years (Lmao I know). Is it normal for scores to get this high?

yeah....too bad his greatness will be totally wasted, the way the team is now.
I seriously hope we can get some truly top players around him.
Otherwise, he is going to have an amazing career, on a mediocre team.
He is the best player i have seen at hopkins, this early in his career, since i was there in the 80s.
We really need an elite top middie, an elite defensemen, an elite goalie, along with top level supporting players.
we don't have that yet.
We are nowhere near having elite performers around him.
It's been ages since we were an elite team. Like 10 years, type of ages.
If we get an amazing recruiting class this year, and the kids can step up right away, we might be able to make an NC run by the time Joey is a junior.

This was great to watch. Such a high scoring game. I had to go to bed before the end, and since it went into overtime, my recording didn't catch the ending. This was a life saver. Thanks for getting this up so quickly.
One of those games where you hate to see someone lose. Hats off to Penn St they are the best team in the country and more than deserve the #1 seed. After the tourney I really hope Hopkins gets in. I have a hard time being convinced Notre Dame is a better team or deserves to get in over Hopkins. Hopkins is the first team this year that Penn St played where it legitimately looked like they were just better than Penn St I didn’t even think that was the case with Yale who beat them. Cole Williams, better D and some great coaching adjustments by Petro has Hopkins as a dark horse final 4 team if they manage to make it in. Finally Joey Epstein!! Just wow he and Chase Scanlan have me so excited for this years freshman class

Hopkins played their best game of the year, despite the loss. They're in the NCAA playoffs...and the way they played, they'll go far...very far.

mac's over the shoulder / behind the back skills come from playing box. his dad played pro box with the ny saints. ots / btb are not for show indoors but are must have basic skills. you bring that mindset outdoors and you get some of the prettiest goals you'll ever see.
I am a big fan of the vids. I think it'd be awesome to include saves and defensive stops and get rid of the double replays of the goals. The sport is not just offense.
I almost always include saves and a few d plays but this game had way too much scoring. And the offense was what mattered. Very little defense was played haha.
