    any method to create an inside and outside selection for texturing... Like is there a way to generate a vertex map that helps us give different materials to the inside and outside

    Thank you nice tut! One question, why I am not able to use this method on other shaped objects than the cube?? When I used it on other shapes, the cube is still showing. I'm guessing it is something to do with the random field? Any help?

    • @nelefack

      in the volume builder, select random field and set 'creation space' at 'Objects below'

      I got some free time these next days so i'll try to make it

    Thanks for this but I could barely hear you at full volume on my laptop so maybe next time record your voice a bit louder. Why did you do the materials in AE instead of C4D and how did you do them in AE (s u mention at the end of the video). An what if I want my cube to have fillet edges? I added fillets to my cube but they disappear with the volume builder and mesh. I also tried this with a sphere but it doesn't work. the fields and volume builder/mesh turn my sphere into a square. Any tips for this?Thanks

    Love the tutorial! Is there a way of making the dissolving face a different material to the rest of the object?

    • @avenauer
      @avenauer 4 года назад +1

      I guess you can do this by adding an additional plain, set it as invert and select a shape as a source, then just use face model as a source of this plain

    Hey! Super vidéo, j'ai juste une petite question : tu disais qu'il était possible de réaliser cet effet sur différentes formes. Cependant, j'obtiens toujours un carré avec le mailleur et le builder. Est-ce expliqué dans ou autre vidéo ou alors j'ai loupé quelque chose... Merci de ton aide et bonne continuation!

    hi, I'm more into "real time" rendering (maxmsp) for my live performances, but this is really really interesting. Can we program the erosion (or dissolving effect as you mention it) with custom algorithm? I mean, can we import many timelines for evolution of each parameter for instance ? In my case, parameters automation would come from the sound analysis (not real time, but I'd have the whole evolution as a curve)

      Respect your modesty man you`re not just `into` maxmsp you`re `famous` for it :)

    Hey Max (is this right?), merci beaucoup, thanks for the tutorial!!! I have aquestion about the setup. I followed your setup completely but my dissolve does not work correctly as the object does not completely disappear when the linear field passes it completely, I checked several times and my setup is the same as yours, I am not sure whats wrong, but as soon as the linear field passes a certain point the random effect will pop back in. Any ideas why, is this something due to scaling, sizes of objects?

    • @MotionDesignersCommunityTV
      @MotionDesignersCommunityTV  5 лет назад

      Hey!
      It's probably a matter of object and noise scale! With a few adjustment you should achieve the effect properly!

    • @RobotMama
      @RobotMama 5 лет назад +1

      @Max thanks for the input, I tested a little comparing my setup with the original preset from Broadcast Lib and figured it out. I upscaled my objects to fit the scale of the fields exported the animation to alembic and imported the alembics to my project and rescaled them down to fit the real size. That did the trick for me. So you were right it was a matter of the scale.

    Est-ce que cela marche pour les obj ? Parce que j'ai essayé mais je suis bloqué avec un cube même si je n'ai ajouté que mon obj...

    • @MotionDesignersCommunityTV

      Il faut cliquer sur ton champ dans le menu de générateur de volume et changer "espace de création" en "Objets" :)

    hey, i tried this exact set up with a custom mesh and found the cube created with the random field was staying in the scene along with my own mesh. I tried the exact set up with different geo, both custom and C4D defaults, and nothing worked to get rid of the cube. I've tried messing with the settings but haven''t found anything yet. Any idea of what could be causing this?

    Hi, I have a question which has nothing to do with this video but on c4d : How to zoom in on the graphs in the F-Curve mode of the animation to place the start and end keyframes of an animation next to each other ?

  • @katerok76
    @katerok76 6 лет назад

    Thank you! One question - why you need to export to R18 to texturing? Was it a matter of habit or performance? :) I'm asking why. It seemed to me that R20 works a little slower at all times. And quite often hangs for a while (15-30 seconds) to count something, even if at this moment there is no movement in the frame...

    • @MotionDesignersCommunityTV
      @MotionDesignersCommunityTV  6 лет назад +3

      Same problems happens to me. I got all my habits, plugin and layout on R18 and it's seriously stable (in general and with Octane) so at the moment I just bake my R20 scenes and render them in R18.
      In the near future I would love to play with the new color fields and shaders options, but I guess I should wait a bit :)

      When you bake something as alembic you have two option : choose the folder or it will be at the same root folder as your C4D project
