Don't blame you. The first maze wasn't that difficult (mostly because I began following the path that takes you to a Bolt xD Then I could figure out the rest), but with the second maze I was like "Where the hell am I supposed to go?".
Recently going through all the megaman games for the first time, so far MM8 has been quite an experience. I had NO idea what to do during this stage, I was just going in circles for almost an hour.
Astro man is a piece of cake. Even thought the Homing Sniper doesn't really do significantly more damage than the upgraded Mega buster, it STUNS him. Get close, wait until he's low, hit him point blank with the Homing Sniper and he'll drop on the ground, Then wait a few moments, jump straight up(and he should have recovered back by now) and just shoot it again and he'll drop back to the ground stunned. Rinse and repeat properly, and he'll NEVER get a chance to fully recover and do that annoying Astro Crush( which he'll start spamming if you sit there and don't hit him). Easy !! You can beat him without even taking a single hit.
20XX just means anywhere between 2099-2010. The first few games were based in 200X, which was anywhere between 2001-2009. So, yea... 20XX may have already come and gone.

I hate Astro Man's stage. I particularly hate how it's pretty much the same stage repeated twice. I love Astro Man, however. I love the idea of a boss who really just plain doesn't want to be there. The way he freaks out when you put a target on him is hilarious too. Once you get the timing down, you can stun-lock him with the Homing Sniper, much like the Danger Wrap does to Cloud Man.
When first hearing him say, "astro strike," it sounded like he was saying, "apple squat." If he did say apple squat, it wouldn't be surprising. These bosses can't get any weirder.
The only way I beat this level was by asking myself ‘hmmm what would be the least logical way to complete this maze?’ after spending like 8 minutes on each screen.
You can actually get in-between Astro Man and his spheres and hit him point blank with Homing Sniper. I admit his spheres make up for a decent defense if you don't know what to do at first, even with Homing Sniper. And then he Took His Level in Badass on Megaman and Bass...
@nojkoor1584 if you are right next to a target then that is what the missle will home in on so if you are point blank with astro they will always hit astro instead of hitting the orbs. You can be directly under him when you shoot if you don't jump high or he is up high. other wise be like an inch to the side of him

i remember in the beginning i used to luv the stage the music....slowly but surely though those mazes really started 2 get on my nerves and give me headaches and nauseous at times.

So, I just fought him. Turns out, if you can catch him low enough with a homing missile, you can just stunlock him with more homing missiles if he's caught in an area where you can just jump and shoot him. The distance between you and him has to be very short, so the missile can hit him right away.
um no. firing homing sniper right underneath him won't get you smacked in the head. Homing sniper can be charged. Charge it so 3 missles are set to home 1 on each orb and 1 on astro. Fire a volley of sniper spam and his orbs will drop to the gound as he takes damage. Then get right near him and point black range him with the missles, jump and shoot style. He will die in under 30 seconds
Astro Man cracks me up everytime I hear him. lmao. Mega Man 8 has to have the most terrible voice overs I heard in a video game. The game itself is decent though.

To me, the game was harder than X4 and X5 before I bought a Turbo controller.
