As a driving instructor, I love visiting other driving test centre to see how hard or easy they are. During a recent visit to the Gold Coast, I visited the Southport Driving Test Centre and drove around the area.
The aim of these videos is to give an insight so that you know what to expect, and should not replace professional driving lessons. Also, keep in mind that driving examiners has many test routes to choose from and there is not one set driving test route. The best way to ensure that you pass the test on your first attempt is to do a lot of practice and also take professional driving lessons with an accredited driving instructor.

Hello, another nice video to help me prepare my practical driving test!
For the next video, could you please drive around the test centre at Helensvale? This is where I'm going to do my test for mid January next year so I can become more familiar with the roads there to increase my chances on passing.

I passed my manual open license at Southport Gold Coast today. It's a bit tricky but manageable. I only had one minor error. Thanks for this video. It helped me a lot.

@@SaadKhan-ju2to more likely, you'll be doing hill start, most roads are uphill and downhill. Depends on the tester if he finds you good in uphill. They might just mark your uphill tick box when you're fine doing it. Be careful on some downhills because it might make you speed up. Goodluck

@@mulumariner5304 I went well I passed with only two minor mark downs so that is good I passed and they were simply lovely and so don’t stress just be yourself and you will be fine!

@@mulumariner5304 they will ask you to do a u turn in front of TMR make sure you go in the left lane and also check for bikes and shoulder check etc I can’t stress enough do lots of shoulder checks chin to shoulder also be calm but confidence is also important.
Get there 20 mins early to do all paperwork and wait for the assessor.
There is a trick way they take you up past the tram 🚊 they will ask you to go left but the lane at the lights goes left right and straight but don’t take the lights there is left slip lane if you take the lights that is a markdown or fail.
If you can go I suggest you do and practise also on Myall street there are click clack lanes that can be tricky.
They also expect at stop signs. To check and wait for the 3 second rule.
Also around in front of Keebra Park high they get you to come around a tight bend, but I reduced the speed to 20 km as it’s very sharp!
Also, practice by going past the section where the tram is as it’s very busy and they all take you there!
I had my lesson at 11 am, which was less busy!
