To Zoom, or not to Zoom. That is the question. We all know the Nike Mercurial Vapor 14 Elite is an amazing pair of football boots, but it's being replaced. Is the new Nike Zoom Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite better? Worse? More of the same? I go over exactly what the differences are, and what you should know about both of these football boots. For me the Vapor 13 was by far the best boot I ever had. They were like perfect.

I was already a big fan of the Vapor 14, having a few pairs myself. Plenty of reasons to think I am gonna be very pleased with the Vapor 15 as well. Especially with the football specific air zoom they incorporated, I am looking forward to it.
And did u buy a pair if so which one do you prefer
@@tyrell8919 Yeah I did. To be honest I don't think the Vapor 15 is a huge jump over the 14. They are both great, but I feel the Vapor 15 is a tiny bit better. The Air Zoom feels nice, and you definitely notice it. But I kinda missed that low to the ground feeling the "Anatomical Shaping" used to give on some past Vapors. But it's a trade-off for better step in comfort. When I first got my 15s I felt some pinching on my pinkie toe coming from the cage system. It went away after a few wears, and different socks. On the 14's I was good to go from brand new.
The things the Vapor 15 does very well is how pliable the new upper is. It's thinner as well. I loved the older 14's upper to. But I think the 15's is better. Also I appreciate the full soleplate this time around. Nike finally ditched to splitsole design nonsense. It feels really solid, snappy and lighter to.

I’ve tried the 15’s for a while and tbh I think they lack a little bit of responsiveness compared to the 14s. I play on firm ground so I don’t feel the air bag a lot. However, I played with them on a ag field and you can tell that it is a game changer for that kind of fields. Personally, I prefer the older generation because of that bit more of responsiveness, but I can’t deny that overall the vapor 15 is the best out of the two in terms of quality of the materials.

Maaan… im still missing my vapor 12 elites… if these feel nearly the same they are a no brainer for me. The 14s weren’t hat great in my humble opinion…

Disappointing to hear for me. I know some people like the vapor 14/superfly 8 but for me I'm a fan of the flyknit upper. I was hoping they would return to something similar to the vapor 12/ superfly 6. All just opinion though, and I hated the vapor 14 feel.

Have 3 pairs of Vapor 13s (different surfaces). Changes on the 14s gave no reasons to upgrade. Not sold that these are worth changing for either.
The changes to the fly knit ruined the new boots for me.

@@Soccerreviewsforyou yeah I guess you’re right haha. Just checked this morning a few hours after I left this comment and they released the Vapor 15 with a different AG stud pattern than the Vapor 14 which is interesting, looks more like the phantom gt version of the AG soleplate.

Hi Josh! I saw Unisport saying the toe area was a little higher than the previous model. I’ve been struggling with size with the latest gen of Mercurials and would love to know if you noticed this too. I can hopefully go back to my real size as going half a size higher has fixed my issue but now the boots are not feeling as great
Very little toe space in these true to size. I bought my usual 8 and a 8.5 and found the 8's to be too tight and the 8.5s to be too big unfortunately. Going by this I assume you'll have the same problem.
@@DecoDoesYT thanks for the update. You might be right, Mercurials don't change as much which is why i was so surprised someoone mentioned the extra space. But we never know until we try it right? Hopefully they launch soon where I am cuz they're not out yet where I live
@@w1nterS0ldier17 My main problem for true to size was that my toes were being crammed together due to the width. My pinkie toe was being squished inwards and it wasn't a pleasant feeling, plus it ruins ankle and knee stability. Makes me feel like the flyknit portion of the boot should have gone deeper into the shoe allowing for stretching the width in this area.
Not enjoying Vaporposite (although this is WAYYYYY more comfortable than the previous model, however when I slip on my old Superfly 6's I realise how much I miss knitted uppers. Going to try ordering some New Balance Furon's and Puma Future's to see if they can come anywhere close to the knitted experiences Nike used to have on offer with the old Merc's and Phantom Vision.

Nike has the best AG pattern. Adidas AG stud pattern is a clone of theor FG pattern....which could be risky
Can you put your own insoles in the vapor 15?
I started football/soccer again after 3 years and used my brothers superfly 5’s size 44eu. They felt good. I just bought superfly 8’s at 44 and they felt too big. Are the superfly 9’s similar to the 5’s?
thats a pretty big gap but in general Nike sizes are consistent

It wouldn’t surprise me if they did. Air Zoom was featured in the Legend 1 and 2, so I do t see why they wouldn’t implement a newer version of the tech.

@@vyvaqt738 i got a size smaller, they were a tight fit but broke them in and loosen the laces so you have more space maybe even take laces out👍

Go the bonded pack superfly 9, same size as I did with the superfly 7 & 8’s and OMG these are really tight/narrow. Plus I experienced heel rubbing from beginning. Tried breaking them in for a few days like previous mercurials but they still cause me pain. Everything else about the upper & the zoom unit is as good as everyone is saying. Did they make the bonded pack more narrow?
The inside of the vapor 15 / superfly 9 is just pure polyester
The problem I had with the vapor 14 was stud pressure. I couldn’t wear them longer than 15 minutes before I decided to return them.
I currently am wearing the Tiempo Legend 9’s because of the comfort, but they’re already falling apart. I’m considering the Vapor 15’s but I’m worried about potential stud pressure and wasting money on cleats that’ll just kill my feet

have said it before but for me vapors haven't been the same since 13's and you saw alot of footballers move away from vapors because of this.. has anyone recently bought the puma ultra boots and do they feel like the vapor 13s?
I bought the Puma Ultra Ultimates recently. They don't feel like the 13s to me they had a less soft, more ''smooth'' plasticy feel, but it wasnt a bad feel. I returned them because for my foot type it made my feet hurt real bad at the toes and on the soles, the vapor 14s fit perfect for me after some breaking in. I hope that sort of helps.
late, but I totally agree, Joaquin! The vapor 14 elites were awkward and uncomfortable initially for me, but after breaking them in, they fit like a glove and are comfy. For some people they might feel comfy on the first try but I think for the majority of players, it will take a session or two to break in. @@joaquinpovarchik6078

I think it just depends on if you want a collar or not.
i have always like the superfly more except for the last model superfly 8 , for some reason the superfly 8 kept giving me bad blisters and just didnt feel good idk. im also wondering what to get for the new ones , i might just switch to vapors
