Thanks, I am glad you love the shirt I sent. You guys are great and you have been an inspiration to me to learn and aspire to be as good as you at fixing equipment and most of all honest. Take care guys.
I am a kind of guy who can fix anything, EXCEPT electronics. That has always been a challenge to me. You are my inspiration! Thank you for all the videos! It’s a tremendous help to to see how the mind of the electronics tech works.
At 6:10 you flexed the coil slightly when soldering the 2nd joint. You should really re-flow the 1st as there's now mechanical stress in both the part and joints.
Well done Alex! One request. I would like from you to mention the temperature and the air speed from hot air station you use to different boards and to different components you repair. I know that you do that many times but it will be very useful for us repeat this as many times you can. You are our teacher and to repeat important things will be very useful for us learn from your experience. Sorry for my English is not my native language. Greetings from Greece!
@@MBrulla yes you are right but it would be useful at least to know approximately the right temperature for a specific board (like ps5,or a specific PC motherboard). This is for me very useful because I don't want to make damage from overheating. There are a lot of parameters when you are performing microsoldering or just soldering a component but an information like that is crucial. The experience is the most important but any tip for us the amateurs is welcome.
@@evoxslaydiy7620 Your eyes are your most valuable tool. If you're working on something with hot air and you see something shift or melt...stop. If you're working on something that takes a lot of heat and time...use flux and low melt solder. Always replace the leaded stuff. I actually worry when someone asks what temp to use because I've seen people use the same settings as me, but they have a different hot air station and they end up burning things because they didn't know any better.
At least, these issues wasn't very big.. I've seen worst.. One time even chip was super glued by customer back in place, of course it won't work.. 😂 New shirt looks great!
Hello sir , I was late watching this video due I’m getting ready to go in for chemo ! Which will mark 15 years of chemo so I like to prepare myself the day before and is where I stay in bed all day so when they start therpy I can sleep and get some go rest ! I’ll line to post a video but due to HEPA law they won’t let me record but one day they said I’ll have a room for myself they’re working on building it’s almost done ! And one day I’ll like to share my experience with chemo their is no fear
@@joesalgadSF415 thank you 🙏 it has been a long fight , the University says that I’m one out 12 in Florida with and has had the therpy for so long ! , and now with this pandemic it’s even harder due to where I go and get my therpy their thousands of COVID ! And makes it even harder for me to get close to their ? But thank you 🙏 so much
How would the ultrasonic damage the IR component? Is it the frequency that the USC operates at, or is there something else I'm unaware of? Dirty job, but those brushes work great.
Alex, why you not used donor board as main board? It's in better condition than clients board. Just transfer chip. As always, nice job and nice watching you 😊
super odd question but i'm generally curious where do you get all your donor boards from? did you buy them initially an now the business has grown they just accumulate over time?
Love the shirt it looks good on you I love it so much I love your videos and I love what you do I hope one day I can be like you I don't practice that much because I work a lot I'm a cook from Panda Express technically I work 12 hours a day it's a hard job but what can I do I love electronics I would like to fix them like you that will be a passion for me thanks for your videos and take your time to do them I know it's hard having a family and a business we appreciate all you do for us teaching us without any cost thank you so much I will like to know if you offer classes because I saw something in your website about classes but I don't know how it works thank you so much and you have a great day sir God bless you
Great video again! May i ask if you could set up a camera for the multimeter, voltage injection tool and add it somewhere on the screen? You always have to place it somewhere to show us or to avoid the reflection. It would be great!
I am really liking these presentations, so thank you for them. For interest - for this fine scale work, what nozzle diameter and hot air temperature do you use for unleaded solder?
So the coil is not fob specific? It can be swapped from another similar mercedes fob? I took a donor and my fob into a shop and they said the frequency of that coil is what identifies to my specific car. But so far everything I've read, says the coil is to draw power from the car and to the fob
Hi Northridefix thanks for your informative videos our group is your big fan. We are beginner in repairing. We all begging you one video from you how to test all the motherboard components in detail thanks Allah bless you
I had the same idea: ultrasonic cleaner! But when he mentioned damaging the IR emitter, I said to my son: "That's why he's the expert and I'm the RUclips subscriber." :-)
Thanks, I am glad you love the shirt I sent. You guys are great and you have been an inspiration to me to learn and aspire to be as good as you at fixing equipment and most of all honest. Take care guys.

You Sir are a master I enjoy watching all your repairs,
At 6:10 you flexed the coil slightly when soldering the 2nd joint. You should really re-flow the 1st as there's now mechanical stress in both the part and joints.
Nice to hear "the job is done" and what a bwautif tshirt...the short is gone! Nice video once again.
Short is bond to go. Because guess who's fixing the circuit. Indeed you are good inspiration to others. Keep up the good work. All the best ahead sir

I wouldn't copy his - rather look at what your hot air station works best at. It takes time/practice to know what's appropriate for each application.

Donor boards are just that. I think donor boards are from costumers that dont want to pay. So if you do that you gonna be out off business In a month.
I rememeber video where Alex mentioned that he bought box of these key fobs as donors, not that these boards are from non paying customers.
Me too
super odd question but i'm generally curious where do you get all your donor boards from? did you buy them initially an now the business has grown they just accumulate over time?
He mentioned it on the previous keyfob repair. From Ebay
I remember him saying he get some from eBay
Great job! where do you buy donor boards generally!! Thanks
How's the gpu repair coming? Will you guys be accepting more for repairs soon?
Alex you did amazing jobs…
I love it! THE SHORT IS GONE

Good videoas. Please tell me where i can find sapre parts for the key. Specially the coil. thanks a lot
Nice job 👍 thanks for the lesson 😊
I prefer the catch phrase “The job is done”
Great video. What would you chsrge to fix my daughter’s 2000 CLK320 key fob. The trunk button won’t open the trunk.

Sir which smd do you use ?
Great video man.👍👍
Finally FOB repair 😁
Great work 👍
Alex can we inject current with switch power supply
I am really liking these presentations, so thank you for them. For interest - for this fine scale work, what nozzle diameter and hot air temperature do you use for unleaded solder?
Man this is so relaxing ☺️
Can't you use contact cleaner for dirty boards? or does it contain something that is not good for this type of situation? Thanks for the video
السلام عليكم.. لماذا لا تستعمل الكاوية الحرارية من الاسفل عند رفع القطع التي تحتوي على جزء بلاستيكي ظاهري؟
i like that message of the t-shirt
Always Great work.
That shirt is nice 😅😅 you should add that to your Merchandise.
And good work at the key
Nice job Sir!!!

Wondered why you always had a hard drive behind the fob tester!
What was the purpose of that HDD with the fob tester?
HDD has a shield to protect it from outside interference. So he uses it to shield the fob tester from radio interference as well.
@@starlight55971 Got it..thank you!
At 2:50 there are a couple of nasty looking traces. You should remove the solder mask and corrosion, otherwise it will bring up some issues later on.
Ultrawonic cleaner can damage the infrared transmitors? How?
Good work 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nice shirt Alex!
the short is gone t-shirt. it really good
Didn't expect it will be such a long video. Title of the video could be "Everything wrong with the Benz keyfob"
your videos are amazing - very interesting !! thank you !
Superb job bro keep rocking new tshirt also super 👍👍👍👍
Small board, not easy. Good Job

I was going to say ultrasonic cleaner... but I never thought about damaging the IR emitter

Well I am glad you remembered to cut out the part where you changed your shirt.
I'm glad he cut it out too, but I'm sure there are a few lady subscribers that wouldn't have minded a little Alex skin. L O L
Nice many Thanks from india
Sounds like the coils fall off or go bad quite often on Mercedes Benz keys judging from your box donor boards. Great video as always👍
Great job and video like always
