Amazing talent! And, he is willing to share with the world, not only to listen but to learn to play the song as well. Thank you , thank you, thank you!
@@lmbc6348 aloha:) I just kept replaying 10 second bits over and over till I had it down. I’ve never been able to read music, although I grew up playing ukulele. I listen better than I read.
Fine arrangement. I'm learning this but it's a slow slog. Notice he grand bars with his second finger a lot, (0:42) something I never have done. And I see it's common for uke players to bar two stings (3rd and 4th) with the second finger as in the 6th chords. I'm accustomed to fingering it all. I purchased a soprano uke with a low G so I can learn some of his tunes.
someone needs to dig up the rest of this VHS tape and upload it all into one full-length video... please! This is magical.
This guy is just mind-blowing. Music for the angels.
Just superb. Brilliant!!
👍👌👏👏👏
I think Herb plays a Martin Style 3 Mahogany Uke, with a low G. He does a fantastic job playing this beautiful song. My favorite version. :-)

Much better enjoyment and well executed music to the ear rather than listening to the music of today.
I have been playing this with one of his arrangements, but I'm still faaaaar from him.

Any purpose to that line down the center of the fingerboard?
@@wackobazacko ? I don't believe that's a string. Certainly no tuning peg associated with it.I suppose it's just decorative,...
