Bryson Stott take is really really weird. I can't even comprehend saying a 1st round pick, a player consistently getting better, a player with post season success and big moments, a player that should have won the gold glove and is 26 years old... is going to take a step back? If anything the dude is potentially headed to elite status. Super odd take as there is zero inclination he has peaked or had a lucky season.

Giants brought in some good players and the padres lost some good players but the padres have the cap space now so even though the Giants are looking better than the Padres, if the padres make a somewhat big trade, the Padres could and can be better than both teams. Tatis will come back better, pitching might be worse, but if padres make a move for a better pitcher they can be a second place in a tough NL West division. P.S. I'm a Giants fan and I like their team but the other teams in the division are just as good or even better.

Even though I think that the Dodgers will win 110 games or so in the regular season, I still think that they'll lose in the NLDS. It just feels inevitable at this point. Just 2 years ago this team won 111 games and got bounced in the NLDS by a wild card.
2021 - Beat Giants in the NLDS
2022 - Lost to Padres in NLDS, Padres lost in NLCS
2023 - Swept by the Dbacks in NLDS, Dbacks lost in WS
Which means
2024 - Rockies beat Dodgers in NLDS and win WS
It is going to happen they got ohtani and every person in Japan they have to pay the price early exit

I'm with you on the Padres and Tigers getting into the playoffs, also we got the same ALCS, but I got Orioles over Dodgers. Mariners and Braves would be a ton of fun though. I was tempted to go Glasnow for Cy Young but I just don't trust the amount of innings he's gonna throw. I went Strider.
Don’t sleep on Dom Canzone, Marc. He added 15 pounds of muscle this offseason and he’s been mashing at the plate this spring. Same with Mitch Haniger - if he stays healthy, he’s a two-WAR improvement over Teoscar Hernandez. Raley could be relegated to a utility role if those two guys continue their trajectory.
Also, Matt Brash got lucky with that injury scare - he’ll be out to start the year, but should return well before the All Star break.
I don’t think they go that deep into the playoffs this year - they’re still a touch inexperienced, IMO, but they’re going to scare whoever beats them, and they’ll be bringing up Cole Young full-time next year. Don’t sleep on them this year, but they’re set up even better as the aces in Arlington and Houston start to age out.

Can we stop with the "Injury prone player" tag for Aaron Judge? Minus the covid year and his first year in the majors it has been 6 seasons in the majors. 3 of those he has played 148,155,157 games and the other 3 he has only missed games due to freak injuries. 2018 HBP in wrist, 2019 Fractured a rib while making a diving play and last year the dude kicked cement while catching a ball. Cement that the dodgers covered during the off season.

Astro fan here…I’m on board with your SEA pick though. There rotation is sick. If both garver and polanco can stay healthy then they should produce. Stanek was a stud here in Houston and heel add to a sea BP that looks strong. Get a bounce back year from France and maybe a step forward from Moore. Renfro, Cal, and JR all do their thing…plans both the Astros and the rangers pitching is banged up to start the year so the door is wide open for them.
This is gonna be a fun one to come back to at the end of the season
I think you’re too low on the Marlins. I agree too they were a fluke but to say they’re worse than the Nats is pretty bold. They’ve got Arraez, Luzardo, Burger, Bell, Chisholm, Anderson (if he stands on his feet again), Garrett, and Perez. That alone clears the Nationals who not only don’t really have any stars (unless their prospects get called up) but are almost entirely composed of nobodies.
He’s probably just salty the fish are better than his Mets with a 1/3 of the payroll

The Mets certainly are better on paper and we really had no business being worse than the Marlins last year, especially with the better run differential. I think we could finish ahead of them pretty easily unless they win seemingly every one run game again. Marlins are easily better than the Nats on paper though.

I think this season there are a lot of sneaker teams especially out of those central divisions (Reds, Pirates, Royals, and the tigers). I especially think the Reds are in a similar position to where the orioles were last year and will probably be fighting with the cubs for the NL central title.

As a Mariners fan since ‘97, just making a WS appearance I’d take it as they’re the only team in MLB not to make a WS appearance & only made 5 playoff appearances in their near 50 year history. Tridents Up 🔱
As an Orioles fan, I would be happy with an ALCS appearance. The main thing I want to see though is us winning an ALDS game. We also haven’t won an ALCS game in my lifetime, so it would be even better to see that. Every fan wants their team to win the World Series, but I would not be upset with a good season and a few playoff wins.

As a Red Sox fan I think the rotation is an extreme anomaly but the lineup is super underrated. It all comes down to pitching so we shall see if Andrew Bailey sparks some magic or if they put up 10 runs a game and give up 30😂

It's not a bad photo, but I think there's something with the camera angle or your smile that makes it very different. I mention that only because it's probably part of the reason I hadn't subscribed before today; I've been enjoying your content for some time, but I also tend not to oversubscribe to too many channels out of a fear (partially irrational as it may be) that it will lead to my feed being inundated with junk.
Die hard Giants fan here, if you did the NL West seeding in 22 and 23 I would’ve had no problem with agreeing with you on a 4th place finish. But they’ve done way too much work during the off season and spring training for a fourth place finish. I’ll give them at least a WC appearance.

because we dont actually have one, Grisham cant hit well enough to afford starting him in that spot. Verdugo and soto are our corner OF and Judge has looked pretty solid in CF. Judge's defense is just so underrated, so it makes sense to have him start there for now and we have grisham to give him days off in the field.

Low key (like the lowest key possible), the Mets might be able to finish 2 in the division. They have J.D Martinez who will have a .900ops, Pete, who is a lock on 40hrs, nimmo and lindor. The pitching isn't as bad as you think, Senga won't be out past June, quintana is always a solid arm and Manea and severino have looked good in spring
Picking Atlanta vs LA in the NLCS. Wow, what a trailblazer…No one has ever picked that matchup coming into the season.
Here’s my hot take: The Diamondbacks are finishing in fourth place this year. I think people highly overrated them because they were in the World Series last year. To me, their playoff run just shows how the playoffs are a crapshoot rather than showing that the Diamondbacks are a good team. If you look at their teams numbers from the season, you will rarely see a team that is that bad even in the playoffs in the first place. The Padres were a better team than them last season, but it wasn’t reflected in the win column. Pederson and Suarez are good players but I don’t think the Diamondbacks improved enough relative to the division
The Dbacks pitching is a real concern and I think people are overlooking it because they played well in the postseason. The 4-5 in their rotation is very questionable and their bullpen outside of Sewald/Ginkel is pretty bad.
