I think there is potential in this style of level design. I don't think it was utilized well in this game, the levels were too long, switching between characters got repetitive, you have to play every level four times, and the controls were really slippery.
It's thoughtful of them to build these cities with these magic roadways and springs so sonic can get around.

There is no greater experience than waking up early in the morning to play Sonic Heroes on the PS2 as a kid. I will forever cherish those memories.
Piece of advice, with a full level sonic, homing attack any robot or pole and that will act as a tornado.
