@@hellboy8317 thanks for the reply. The show is called "Eyes on Detroit." It is held every summer. This year one of the themes is a tribute to Tom Gale, who lead the design and styling of the 300M. The organizers are having trouble finding nice examples. Enjoy your car!

I used to have a gunmetal colored with the two tone seats 2002 Chrysler 300M Special back in 2009... That was a beautiful car... Traded it in for a 2008 Impala... Should've just kept the 300M...
Got a '03 black Special sitting in the driveway right now. Bought it in 2005, 33K miles, for an even $15K. Currently has 118K on it. I love this car, my girlfriend calls it "the party dress". No issues with it, other than the standard maintenance thing. Only thing I would call an issue is, that if you didn't put the 18 inch ZR tires on it, it will not ride are drive worth a hoot, and ZR tires ain't cheap, especially since it came with a full size spare tire. If it's going on a lift, you better go out and point out to them they have to use spacers on the lift or they will damage the skirts. Also, the front rotors are directional, found this out when a dealer installed them backwards. Their answer was "who knew"? I did. Also, the Special has a lower gear ratio than the standard. it will never change to 4th gear in auto if you don't hit 35 mph, I guess they did that so it would stay responsive. At 30 mph and lower, a quick half way down press on the gas pedal, it shifts to 1st and you're moving down the highway fast and not quietly. It also has 150mph on the speedometer, I doubt very seriously it would do it, but it does remind you that you are in a car that will get up and go.
I believe Car and Driver listed the top speed at 143 MPH. These didn’t have limiters on them like the regular versions, I believe the Intrepid RT version was also not speed limited. The Concorde on the other hand, think was limited to 118 MPH top speed, S rated tires (124 mph)
I have a blue one from 2000 here in Sweden. I havent had any problem with it since i got it 2 years ago. Works fine. It’s been rebuilt into a tractor or A-traktor as its called here. It’s rebuilt cars that can drive 30 km/h and dosent have back seats. Its for Teenagers from 15 to 18 year old
I was always a GM man, but I liked the styling of the 2004 300M. I bought one and the quality of the car is outstanding. Even with 20 inch rims, this car handles like a sports car.
Dang that exhaust sounds nice
I had a regular 2002 300M. Absolutely loved it. Always wanted a Special. I see lots come up for sale but they’re always pretty beat up now.
I own my 300M since more than 20 yrs. So happy ❤❤❤
Are interested in showing your car in Detroit this summer?
@@TonyBarr99 I would love to, but I do not live in the US ...

@4:49 $33,920 = $59,071 in 2024 Wow! i didn't realize how expensive the Chrysler 300M Special really was back then.
Originally intended to be the next Eagle Vision sedan, once the brand was shuttered, it became a Chrysler labeled vehicle.
One of my ex friends used to have one of these. It really did feel luxurious. Still a sharp looking car, in my opinion.
I had a 2004 chrysler 300M special with the navigation system . It was the best car I ever had , no major isues and very fun to drive
Chrysler put such good sound systems in their car back then.
Personally I liked the look of these over the 300 that replaced it in 2005. Interior of those were dreadful.

The best Chrysler 300 ever ...
🙃👍
I love seeing these old Motorweek episodes especially on cars on which today are mostly beaten up.
That was a nice 300 at the time

Well, I gotta give it to Chrysler. These do sound pretty cool.
Chrysler six cylinders sounds amazing
Geez, I never realized how Nissan VQ35-ish these things sounded.
VQs sounds like shit, these engines have tone and are throaty, way more European than asain sounding.
Sounds way better.
One of my dream cars
In the early 2000s I wanted one of these. They seemed to be relatively high quality, don't know if that was true or not.
Garbage big time!!! Lol

@@yuriypodgorniak3895the European market 300M had the Concorde’s base 2.7L V-6. The 2.7L were absolute garbage. Far worse than any 3.5L version.
The music was over-the-top in this video. I could barely hear John. Someone in the studio was, um, lit.
These motors actually weren’t that bad 3.5 It’s probably the most reliable motor they make because God knows the 2.7’s were garbage😂
My 2001 300m tured 350000 kms yesterday. Only 350000 km to go
217,000 miles👍👍
It has a beautiful design. But is the Chrysler 300M reliable?
350000 km to date on mine so ya they are
