- Drain Cleaning Video - 30LBS!! ROOT CLOG - Drain Pros Ep. 51
In this video we are finishing a drain clog job at a church. Previously we had hydro scrub from the bell tower down 50 feet to a spot just outside of the building the hose wouldn't pass. They excavated the line for us to find the pipe has approx 10 feet of solid root build up through the 4" cast iron pipe and also into the 6" clay pipe. We hydro scrub out with 3000-4000 psi of water with the warthog nozzle to cut out the remaining roots and get the pipe back open and flowing. After we finish up the excavation company was replacing as much clay pipe as possible hoping that they ran into the drywell to replace the whole pipe!

l'm fascinated by these videos! As a nurse my thoughts while watching is the way the clogs and drains are cleared is similar to watching an endoscopy or an angioplasty! phenomenal work Drain Pro!

i have no idea why this video appeared to me, but dude, i love this. here to stay
@hello, hello...Thank you so much! Often times I get tired of waiting and I want to rush through these kind! Lol! 👍🙄
Beautiful ole church, especially the bells and the stained glass windows. Some mega ass roots, just imagine what you couldn’t see only feel. 💚💚
Pheurbel VLS Yeah! Nice part about that jetter nozzle is it shreds the roots. Was hoping to have some video of the 6” pipe when they dug it up but they were holding of till the next day to dig 👍
Well done! All they need to do now is seal the pipe and bury it. I have the same drainage system in my house and it runs from the backyard, under the house, and out to the city storm line. It was clogged up and not operational for years. Because I didn't know a drain pipe existed, I resorted to using a sump pump to control rain and ground water. Last year I decided to do a little digging around and found a clay pipe which was the property's storm drain. It collapsed in a few places and after removing dirt, roots, and stone/clay, it is now operational. The water does not move quickly because the pitch is almost non existent. Water is visible in the pipe, but it never really accumulates and I haven't used a sump pump since. Finding that clay pipe was like finding treasure, peace of mind is priceless.
That’s awesome! 🙌 peace of mind is so nice when your laying in bed during a heavy down pour!
Came for the specimen, got a history lesson.
I delivered something like that the other day.
Beautiful church, love the sounds of the bells in the bell tower!

Is it weird that I can almost smell the inside of that church?

WOW!! Beautiful root log
Beautiful church! Good work!!
Great choices! And even greater head selection. That 1/2” warthog is one of the best heads out there. Stay safe out there!
Love the Warthog! It makes the job so much easier 👍 as always Thanks Marino
Also a aircraft a warthog
Funny, the A10 Warthog is an Aerial Support Jet plane that has a 30mm machine gun that absolutely annihilates anything in its path.
That bell system was neat, would have liked to see the room up where the bells were!
Thanks! I would have loved to see it, they have it locked off because the floor boards have rotted through the years.. we take care of most of the church’s in the area so maybe one day I’ll get to see one hanging! 👍
Very cool video. Thanks for posting and have a nice day too.
Pretty cool seeing the bell tower
So cool seeing the history of the place! Definitely will try to show more of it in the future 👍
Wow, a Carillon!! Nice find! And nice job with the roots!
Thanks HJCF! Appreciate you watching 👍
Well done mates.Stay safe!
Kempinger Thank you! Definitely not getting as many jobs rolling in with the virus hitting our state so hard but we’re hanging in there and will do our best to keep people following till it’s over!! 👍
Goooood job , great show. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great work! I love your voice.
Wow that’s a lot roots but luckily we have you to help we should appreciate plumbers
Elizabeth Citak Thanks 😊
Wow that is some surprise in the drain!
I noticed how much you sound like Spiderman
All good!
You do an amazing job. Wish I could jet my drain field
looked like the pipe is giving birth.
Random Acts of Video lol I just watched that section back with my wife after reading that comment. My hand placement 😂
Ok on 3 i want you to push jen 😂
Clay pipe was a lot stronger than I expected!
Yeah it’s doesn’t break away as easy as you would think.. I could have grabbed a grinder wheel and cut the top of the pipe out to give a better opening but I had the hammer right there so I figured why not! 👍
Huh, a little Carillon in that tower!
Awsome❤️❤️❤️
I thought he was pulling out an alien tentacle :D
Wow!
Surprised how good the condition of that old clay pipe was! I had clay at a 130yr old house I owned, and it was all broken and shattered. Had to replace it.
amazing i love your channel!
Nikki baby Thanks Nikki 👍 I’ll do my best to keep the videos coming!!
@@DrainPros Thank you so much! 💚

Seems like a doozie of a job. Nice work
Thanks 20 cent, Definitely was one of the biggest root build ups I’ve ever seen! Appreciate the support 👍
Bell 🔔 are going so good 👍 when the job is done clear Drain at the church ⛪️ I love ❤️ your video 📷 the are the best ones I can't wait for the next video 📷 #DoneGoodJobOnDrainatChurch
Thanks Anthony 👍
I can smell this church
Haha the old ones definitely have a unique historic smell to them! 👍
Mother of God! Holy shit!
Say they never have money........
Commission a stained glass insured for a million 😂
Fun fact, that instrument (the bells) is called a carillon.
@johnny smit 👍🏻
Cool, this is a sausage, the rotator mill has ground these roots. of course, there is a lot of land in the pipe. I wear these black gloves, too, and blue rubberized ones on top for rough work. This way the black ones don't break. cool, cool, well done.
We used to use the latex gloves that the nurses and doctors use but they would break way to easily so we found a company that makes the black glove that are quiet a bit thick. Have another box of them that are blue and a little longer to cover your wrist that are almost as thick as the yellow dish washing gloves! So much easier when they aren’t breaking every two seconds!! 👍
Good job guys! Those old cast iron, clay and concrete pipes are something that should be places these days. Keep it up!! Cheers, collegue from finland
MattiS Thank you! Sending 🙏 to you in 🇫🇮!!
If they’re clear they are actually very good at their job, why replace everything?
English Rural Doggy Nerd The clay pipe has cracks in it that are allowing the roots to get into the pipe, so while they have the excavator there it’s cheaper to just replace the pipes now then have to call the excavator back in to dig it all up again when they regrow! 👍
Did I hear you correct and you did the job pro bono for them? I heard you joke if they had to replace the line ‘don’t get me, I’d have to charge you for it’ If so, that is incredibly kind. I believe that kind acts go a very long way in life. Well done.
You need to come back here and play E1M1 from Doom
Starts to bang out Innagadadavida on the bells :)
Bob Bishop I wish I was that good that I could play a song.. I’d be up there everyday 😂!
I would
You have a typo in your screen logo. No apostrophe is needed for Pros. :p
so, was it a boy or girl that you delivered from the pipe? lol, master plumber with obstetrician as a side gig, lol! great job with that, great to see the history and some of the inner workings of that church! Hope the jobs keep coming for yours and our sake so you get a paycheck and we get good content! Stay safe out there!
Absolutely Scott! We’re doing our best to stay busy but protected at the same time! Hopefully it will die down in the next month or so for us 🤞.. Love jobs like these, get to see a bunch of history as a work!
Awesome video I’m about to order a medium jetter 4000 psi 4 gpm and can’t wait to put it to work, awesome video keep up the great work
Matt King Thank Matt! That’s awesome 👏 your going to the the pressure.. not to much stand in the way with that kind of psi!!
We run a harben that hits 4k at 9gpm we fly through 300 gallons in no time with the 1/2 hose and warthog.
no corn, no ratty...
Did you ever rod toward the building or obstruction, , or do what I always found the most useful way to go was from the street in? When you start at the street and rod toward the obstruction, you see what is coming out. Where I worked, there was this old Yankee that had his own way of solving problems. Anything he ever dug up, he never wanted to dig it up again. Everything he did was based around not having to dig it up again. A trouble with Jetters is that the roots can collapse around the jetter or rod snake,
Chris Gordon Every once and a while we get a setup where we’re down range working back up from a clean out.. very few neighborhoods in our area have the pipe exiting at the curb for storm water.. like you said I love working from down stream back up because it brings the clog to you! Plus out jetter pulls everything a lot better than it pushes, most times cleans the pipe crystal clear on the first run!! 👍
@@DrainProsYouse Tubes sucks. They are always shutting me off and my note is lost forever.
I did that for a reason. You can rod both ways and show the municipalities that the real issue is with their equipment. They can't BS your customer with "He doesn't know what he is talking about. "WE"RE the Pro's. I used to find "Honky's Manholes all over where he had been before. He kept the locations in one of those engineer books. After he retired, the book disappeared.
When I started plumbing in 1965, we would dig yo a sewer and repair it. Then put a piece of lead sheeting over the hole. Then next time, we wouldn't have to cut a new hole. But we never found the old hole.
That video you posted about the church. That one gave me flashbacks of my worst experiences. Remember, "There is never enough time to do it right. But always time to do it over.". People that clean drains and unplug sewers are always coming behind those that didn't do it right the first time. So what can we do to make it better for us the next time we go there?
I’m guessing no water has been passing through that line for a long time. I suppose they’ve just had standing watts on the roof after rains. It all made for some good video though.
Yeah with how thick they were I can believe they didn’t have problems years ago, I’m guessing the water just saturated through the roots with time but on heavy rain storms it definitely had to puddle pretty bad up on the roof! 👍
So you used a 1/4” hose to start the job and it was a one forward a few backs nozzle. Then it wouldn’t pass so you used a hammer and chisel to smash that notch it that clay pipe. Why did you have to add a black hose to the 1/2” hose? What pressure did you use for 1/4” and 1/2” hose?
Exactly! We started the 1/4” cable at around 3000 psi but it wasn’t making any head way with how thick the roots were. After switching over to the clay side we used the 1/2” hose with around 3000-3500 psi. The black hose that you saw is our warthog nozzle, the hose is about 2 feet long and that’s what always the nozzle to whip (oscillate) through the pipe like a helicopter blade cutting up all the root intrusion!
ruclips.net/video/FZyjZ4xz8V0/видео.html
This is the 3/8” one but it gives you and idea of what it’s doing inside the pipe!
Drain Pros Do you ever jet bathtubs showers lav sinks or kitchen sinks? I’ve watched your videos and I only see you jetting lines 3” or bigger
Need the orange gloves back .. kinda like ya signature.. is there no drain u can't get unblocked ???
Nice bell system
So cool to see the old history, figured it would be awesome to share with everyone! 👍
@@DrainPros Yeah it is it really awesome
Look at that sausage!
What 's that drain for?
Did your company do the digging or someone else did
👍👍🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴Norway poluming
Holy Sh*t! No really, I thought that was holy sh*t.
I think someone at the church was possessed and had a struggle between good and evil before exorcizing that demon.
Someone is getting plenty of fiber.
Now there's a sister of the six wounds.
You could have gotten a free baptism that day for everyone who was there.
The good lord says all thing will pass but to be honest had little faith.
Honestly at this point just replace the whole drain. It's done for, the pipes are broken and it absolutely chock full of roots.
Not a patch on Ollie,s presentation !!!!
Its getting skary, knowing that one has "friends" or "colleagues" over the globle having the same uncertainty of how the future will be.Job Health, Family, Money....Whatch your selfs...
...Where about are you located?
New York pretty much the epicenter in of the virus in the states! Yeah it’s crazy that this is effecting people all over the world 🌎
That pipe then gave birth lol
Now was that an actual tree root or is that just solid poop you just pulled out of the pipe?
That’s the actual roots of the tree! This was a Storm line so only rain water would run through this pipe, no poop! Once the trees find a consistent water source like that pipe they engulf it growing in every crack and crevice!👍
I dunno i reckon i seen abit of corn in that, ratty woulda loved it..
This was definitely a job for the double barrel and ratty!
I hope y’all clean down all your equipment at the end of each job not to spread the crap inside the van.
Ever heard of a root cutter jetter head? A "double barrel" would have gone right through that stuff.
The one we used cuts roots but not as good as the double barrel.. looking to get one for the future 👍 this was quite the root though not sure anything was getting through it!
Is that your problem?
What do you mean by my problem darkfire?
That root mass looked like a huge turd
9:08 When you've been straining from constipation but finally let it out
but I think we should be more careful to find out how the whole world works in this world but I do think that is the facts of the same thing as the one who has been a good person and is the main character of a person that has been walking in the right direction

The rock n roll camera is making me seasick. Ugh.
A carillon. How cool is that. You got a subscriber. You just need a rat now.
Welcome Thomas, good to have you here! 👍
Roof drains are a pain in the ass
Why don't you grab the camera and take a look instead of GUESSING maybe a little better if an idea eh
I’m surprised unions don’t get ad space say how you and the others are bringing down internet standards by not going union
Why jet?? Run a snake with blades on it actually cut the roots.
Why didn't you guys use a camera... To see how clean the drain was.. The Roots might have been just in that corner.. you could have saved the church a lot of money.. that would have been professional to check with the camera..🤔
We did camera the line from above on the roof to find where that heavy was of roots was located. After jetting the line for 2 hours we knew the jetter was never going to make it through the root obstruction and decided the best way to take care of the issue was to excavate that same location and do a spot repair. Thank you for watching and commenting 👍
Your camera is moving too fast.
To fix it the right way you would have to dig and put a new pipe in
guys wearing gloves but sticks his hand into a sewer line without pulling back his sleeve....nastiness.
shit on church
as good as that pipe is.... there is no reason for you to leave roots in there an no reason to replace pipe... you should have finished the job the first time...
a beautiful church I wonder what is part of christianity the church is dedicated to / Baptist, protestants, Catholics
Muito ruim
Roll your sleeves ffs … triggering me here
Ollie & Ratty would have made short work of that. Amateurs.
Seems like they did just fine
