  • Autonomic movements are the responses plants show to internal stimuli. These movements are spontaneous. They arise automatically due to internal causes, especially due to genes. Autonomic movements can be seen clearly in unicellular organisms as well.
    What are Paratonic Movements?
    Paratonic movements are the responses exhibited by plants to external stimuli such as sunlight, gravity, water, chemicals, temperature, and turgor. There are several types of paratonic movements: taxes, tropic movements and nastic movements, etc. Plant shoots elongate towards the sunlight. Thus, this is a paratonic movement that is phototropic. Similarly, plant roots grow towards the soil. This is another paratonic movement which is geotropic. Likewise, paratonic movements arise due to external stimuli. this topic movements in plants covers syllabus of biology class 12

    Respected sir ..the tactic movement examples you have given here, are both about external stimuli (i.e) light...but Tactic movement itself falls under autonomic movement (due to internal stimuli)...So its confusing...can you please make it clear.

      There are a lot of blunders in P.T.B punjab text Books
      one of the major blunder js Tactic movement basically included in the paratonic movement because phototactic chemotactic and turgor all are external stimuli
      Like turgor pressure js generated or fall off due to touch
      touch is an external stimulus
      phototactic also external because light is external factor

    Stimuli for phototactic n chemotactic movements are light n chemicals ..as these are external stimuli how could you justify that these stimuli come under the autonomic movements..please explain it ..I'm confused n waiting for your kind response..

    • @irtisamsbiology
      @irtisamsbiology  3 года назад +4

      Dear in this case movement is internal .... Like cyclosis in cytoplasm and movement of chlorophyll molecules takes place ....
      Light is external source while movement is internal so ....actuall cause is internal .... Plant body or any organ do not moves .... Only internal motion takes place

      But it's not case of internal or external
      it's case that the source is external
      and in our book autonomic is define as due to internal stimuli
      what is stimulus?

    Sir u have done wrong concept........tactic movement is type of paratonic movement and u said it's autonomic

  • @vocabineers6095
    @vocabineers6095 2 года назад

    as u said, autonomic movement is because of internal stimuli then how phototactic movement be classified as autonomic? while you are yourself saying then chloroplast are moving just toward the source of stimulus and the stimulus is light? do you really think that light is an internal stimulus? if the light is an external stimulus and chloroplasts are moving towards the source, then it must be classified as a paratonic movement. answers it please as soon as possible.

    • @irtisamsbiology
      @irtisamsbiology  2 года назад

      Thanks a lot for asking such a good question

    • @irtisamsbiology
      @irtisamsbiology  2 года назад +2

      In ptb this is clear that phototactic is autonomic ... Actually here the movement of chloroplasts is due to internal causes like cyclosis though stimulus is light and it causes internal signaling .... And chloroplasts follow that signals not the light directly..
