That build is fucking insane. I've been followin Henry for some time on IG but never realized how extensively it has been modified. That's a 150k car easily

It's amazing how nicely the S54 fits in the E36 chassis. Truthfully the E46 had the better engine even with the Euro spec S50 being better than the US spec but the E36 is a way better looking car. Handles better too. Dude I'm so jelly...it's like they took the best parts out of 2 generations and re-engineered it into a single car that the E46 should have been.
I've followed the build on instagram since the beginning, I couldnt believe it when he posted it for sale! Stoked that it ended up with someone that drives it. The poly windshield tho, I've always opted for laminated ones in my builds, with the other windows being poly, the thought of hitting a deer or someone going through the poly windshield at highspeeds seem sketchy tbh 😬
Thanks for following along the build! Windshield is actually normal glass, just with laminated heating elements inside. Not polycarbonate, like rest of the windows in the car. 👍
Lol no AC in an E36 is like a right of passage. I use the AC button to change my idle speed...kind of like a janky launch control since MS41 lets you set an RPM floor and ceiling for AC and non AC.
He should have built the head more and the valve train to make this rev to 10,000rpm with a 6 into 1 header to sound like a crazy insane formula1 car that would be epic
Those are the real numbers. Since my first aftermarket ECU build in 17' I've been dyno tuning all my builds in same place and have data around 10 different S5X (S50B30, S50B32, S54B32) setups from stock, airboxed, all the way to a full racing engine setup with build top end. S54 results which this setup were super strong taking account the stock cams and we were surprised also. As mentioned, car was also tuned to 98oct gas after 2 years of usage and that made only 4whp difference. Also there was huge wheel hp loss in the first tune session of this car. Everything was brand new and alignment was maybe also effecting the results slightly after the 2 seasons, losses had rounded up to more normal number of 40 instead of 70. 🙂
S54 Engine is very revvy, powerful and reliable. I own both an E46 w S54 (7 years) and have owned an E36 w S52 - US Spec - (13 years.). The S54 sings and is glorious. The S52 is similar but w 100 less HP. However the E46 is heavy next to the E36. So I always drive the E36 more often. Both engines very solid and ultra reliable. If I would swap S54 into my E36 I think it would be perfect E36. The Euro motor requires too much maintenance.
@@sersge We got a great and reliable engine that’s ultra torquey and has never required to open it up. We don’t have Autobahn to get up to 200mph. Priority is reliability, low maintenance and durability. There’s a reason I’ve owned for so long. Euro motor is available now in the U.S. but no one really cares to buy one.

400hp with stock cams ? Thats a big lie. But otherwise thats the Perfect Track E36 for me 🤝🏻 hes a Genius and does Great work
The near 400 hp he mentions is crank hp he shows a dyno sheet a 21:18 that says 396hp - 325wheel hp.
Increased compression and overbored to 3.3L. So with E85 it could be making that.

@@DonBMW s52 is a stroked m52, the EU 3.2 revs Like a s54, they are both race engine in a street car. You got shafted bad in the US on the e36
