What I really loved about the first 3 movies was that you could see, in their robot forms, the individual pieces that would become the disguise in the vehicle forms. Just watching every piece move by itself and connecting the dots, seeing how they transform and how it all fits together. That's the essence of the visuals in the movie and why the last two films fell so flat.

What I like about these transformations is not only the realistic sounds and moving parts, but also the fact that every once in a while, they add the old transformers sound from G1. A nice call back to the old Transformers cartoons.
Manuel Castillo their robot forms get damaged, but they might self repair in their car modes or it might raise suspicion that a half broken car is going 70 miles an hour.
This vid really helped me understand why I liked the 1-3 movies designs over 4 and 5, while I understand designers may have found it a bit limiting, I really enjoyed how the robot forms, at least for the autobots normally, you could somewhat understand what they transformed into, while it started with someone of the newer additions in transformers 3, Optimus in 4 and 5 really shows the different direction they were taking with it

Yeah... We never saw Hound or Crosshairs transform. And the only time we saw Drift was to and from helicopter mode. We never saw him go to or from the Bugatti mode except for the KSI raid and even then it was blocked by Bee.

Later on in DOTM, Prime was pissed at *us* trying to brainwash human scientists who work for NASA, and he killed almost everyone in our ranks, including Lord Megatron. I also have yet to pay Bumblebee back for killing Soundwave.

What it's supposed to be is a seamless fusion of mechanical and organic motion, reflecting the nature of Cybertronians themselves. They got that down pretty well in most of the transformations(, especially in Dark of the Moon). But yeah, the "bitforming" shit is awful.
Say what you will, the amount of detail put in each one of those transformations (less the little pixel transformations our little "homemade" transformers do) is amazing.
Sigh... Jazz put style into his transformation. That, pizzaz, that told you: "Hey, watch this" that no other character could achieve. If you think about it, the first movie is a 'proof-of-concept' to show the transformations; which were all epic in their own way, and as the sequels came out, the transformation scenes got lazy, were covered by scenery, or not shown at all. they need to fix that with the next movie.

Ive seriously noticed a trend in these movies, How come the Autobots look more humanoid and friendly, but the Decepticons look like a bunch of mutant freaks? like Claw arms, Demonic robot faces and such, barely any of them spoke normally and instead snarled and growled like animals, and some of them have a serious speech impediment. Oh well, whatever pleases the kiddies :L

Reformatting is different from transforming. It's not going from robot to car, and it's not going from car to robot. Although we do see parts moving around so some people think otherwise

Ive seriously noticed a trend in these movies, How come the Autobots look more humanoid and friendly, but the Decepticons look like a bunch of mutant freaks? like Claw arms, Demonic robot faces and such, barely any of them spoke normally and instead snarled and growled like animals, and some of them have a serious speech impediment. Oh well, whatever pleases the kiddies :L
