If I were to be asked who I think embodies the word suave, Usui pops into my head long before James Bond does.
For all the people saying Usui is "overreacting" and being "toxic", let me remind you what is happening. Usui and Misaki had more than something going on at that point, having shared numerous romantic moments, and were ready for the next step. To which then this guy barges in and openly declares he moved to this city to reunite with his childhood crush (Misaki, obviously) and be a couple, going as far as to openly challenge Usui after understanding what was going on (remember all the scenes where they're drawn as two dogs growling at each other?). Usui, at this point in time, has every right to he jealous (not possessive, which he is not) and try to "one up" Hinata, something he is also trying to do to Usui. Not everything is "toxic" or, for the love of god "narcissistic(?!)"

But one other perspective to this incident was that Misaki herself was uncomfortable wearing those type of clothes because she lacks self confidence in that department. However, there were various other instances as well where his behavior was questionable like kissing her without consent or lifting her skirt. But then it is a part of his personality that he is somewhat eccentric and he has had way too many good deeds in this bucket than the nonsense that he pulls sometimes, just a way to show that he may appear to be perfect but he is not, he is human.

It was a pretty common trope in shoujo, which definitely wouldn't fly today. But I'll give it the benefit of doubt, because those scenes felt like fan service and maid sama wasn't particularly heavy on plot. I mean lets be honest the entire plot was fan service. So I dont take it very seriously.

I LOVE Usui, he’s my favorite anime ML character, and he did nothing wrong here. But I do think there were other instances where he s*xually harassed Misaki. Sure, it’s fine to tease the person you like, there’s a lot of funny moments, but not crossing boundaries (like putting a hickey on her back when she wore a bathing suit, and that was before they were even dating). Some of those things could’ve been left out of the story, IMHO.
